Tip for Choosing a Georgia Senior Living Community: Location
How close your loved one is to you shouldn’t be the only factor when deciding where they’ll stay. Proximity to their primary care physician, specialists they see frequently, and hospitals should all be relatively close. Does the facility have transportation or will you have to pick them up and take them to appointments? Make sure you know the level of your involvement before settling on a place.
Ranking The Best Senior Living in Georgia
How did we rank the best senior living facilities in Georgia? We combined reviews from multiple websites including Google, Facebook, and other senior living websites across Georgia. Then we made sure that the facilities did not have any outstanding compliance violations or complaints with the Georgia Department of Community Health.
Finally we wanted to make sure the living and care was affordable for most people. The average cost for assisted living in Georgia is $3,100. This includes housing, most meals and basic services and amenities. Memory care and nursing home providers can be much more, but provide a much higher level of care. Many of these communities are competitive with the average cost for senior living in the state. After all, what good is a community if you can’t afford to live there.

My father has been a resident of Holbrook Woodstock for the past several years. He lived in an a beautiful apartment near the the bar and restaurant, and later moved into an assisted living apartment where he received more focused care. His experience at Holbrook has been outstanding. The entire community is very social and active. The staff is very friendly and engaged. The facilities are amazing; featuring an indoor pool, complete gym, spa, game rooms, live music, wine room. and much more. The furnishing are modern and lively. The residents are truly spoiled. I have ALL RAVE reviews about this place – management, staff, cleanliness, food and cheerful residents. Christine and Lourdes went well beyond any expectation I had of helping my dad move into their community which we all knew would benefit him physically and more importantly mentally. They gave me the guidance I needed to make it happen along with nurturing me as I had to learn about becoming, unexpectedly, the parent of a parent. Their goal is to “help” whether your parent ends up there or not. Fortunately, mine did. My dad could not have been happier once there. Please consider this place.

My father initially started in Independent living. The staff has been so helpful in my father’s transition from independent to assisted living. The Executive Director, Dr. Kendra Smith, was very informative. She listened and was extremely compassionate about my father needs. She was even concerned about my well being as a caregiver. Tiffany the nurse was very tentative to my father’s needs. Brooke and Ionie are two caregivers that really take their time with my father and make sure he knows they are there to assist him with love. I have been more than satisfied with The Palms at Lake Spivey.

We are so pleased to have chosen The Phoenix at Union Hill for moms new home. The facility is beautiful, bright & with all the conveniences & amenities anyone could wish for. Moms new home is a lovely one bedroom in Independent Living with a great porch for her to enjoy the outdoors and her many pots of plants. She has a lovely view out across the nearby farm field. Indoors she has plenty of space to stretch out & enjoy with her kitty. She’s got a full sized stainless steel fridge (not all senior living apartments have this!)with water and ice in the door, microwave, range, disposal and dishwasher. She loves having a separate space with closable doors that hold the full sized washer & dryer units.
