We set out to determine what the top senior living facilities were in popular areas in Georgia. We started our list in some of the most sought after areas in the state. Tip for Choosing a Georgia Senior Living Community: Location
How close your loved is to you shouldn’t be the only factor when deciding where they’ll stay. Proximity to their primary care physician, specialists they see frequently, and hospitals should all be relatively close. Does the facility have transportation, or will you have to pick them up take them to appointments? Make sure you know the level of your involvement before settling on a place.
Ranking The Best Senior Living in Georgia
How did we rank the best senior living facilities in Georgia? We combined reviews from multiple websites including Google, Facebook, and other senior living websites across Georgia. Then we made sure that the facility did not have any outstanding compliance violations or complaints with the Georgia Department of Community Health.
Finally we wanted to make sure the living and care was affordable for most people. The average cost for assisted living in Georgia is $3,100. This includes housing, most meals and basic services and amenities. Memory care and nursing home providers can be much more, but provide a much higher level of care. Many of these communities are competitive with the average cost for senior living in the state. After all, what good is a community if you can’t afford to live there.

Holbrook has been a lifesaver for me. It has opened me up to a whole new life compared to my life in New York. I have met the most wonderful people from all over the states who have been so friendly it is a feeling I’ve never had before.
The staff is the most friendly and accommodating I’ve ever seen. I am so happy here and would recommend Holbrook to everyone . It is a family place where everyone stays in contact with one another. Our mother has been living at Dunwoody Place for the past 10 months and we have found everything to be clean, bright, and above all, very safe for the residents and staff. With the new carpeting, flooring, painting, and room upgrades, the time spent at this facility has been very enjoyable for our mother. Stephen Miller is the Director, and deserves a lot of credit for his leadership skills, warmth, patience, and understanding. He takes the time to visit his residents, and knows my mother and she really knows him! To me, that’s important. If you haven’t had a chance to get to know Stephen, you should. Its definitely worth the time.

We are so pleased to have chosen The Phoenix at Union Hill for moms new home. The facility is beautiful, bright & with all the conveniences & amenities anyone could wish for. Moms new home is a lovely one bedroom in Independent Living with a great porch for her to enjoy the outdoors and her many pots of plants. She has a lovely view out across the nearby farm field. Indoors she has plenty of space to stretch out & enjoy with her kitty. She’s got a full sized stainless steel fridge (not all senior living apartments have this!)with water and ice in the door, microwave, range, disposal and dishwasher. She loves having a separate space with closable doors that hold the full sized washer & dryer units.
Hard flooring in all the living areas & a short nap carpet in the bedroom are all stylish to meet her taste & SAFE to make us feel confident about her safety. There’s light housekeeping included weekly to allow her to have the clean home she has always prided herself on without the physical challenges of scrubbing & pushing about a vacuum-both a big deal we never consider as we age. Two meals per day are included in her rent & the food in the restaurant is so yummy that we often make specific arrangements to visit and have lunch or dinner with her! More than any THING though is the staff. Every single person working at The Phoenix at Union Hill is personable and caring. From the front desk concierge, to the housekeeping & kitchen staff, to the maintenance guys and Josh the Executive Director, they work hard to ensure the residents are safe and happy every day-and they always do it with a smile on their face. Special shout outs to Bailey, Emily, Blake, Teresa, and Jose who come in contact with mom most days and who have helped me feel confident that she will be able to live here safe and happy for as long as possible.

We used them for almost three years after my mothers Parkinson’s necessitated more in home assistance. Over that period of time our care manager, Melissa LeBoeuf, was extremely receptive and available for all our needs no matter the many changes in location and care needs for my mother. She got to know my mother personally and listened closely to her requirements of a caregiver so that she usually found a good match. We became close to my mothers caregivers and I trusted them completely, feeling reassured anytime I knew my mother was in their hands. As a working mom, I was no longer able to give my mother all the time and care she needed and the caregivers took over my role and communicated with me constantly to tell me what she needed and how she was doing. That feeling of security, knowing she was in good hands when I couldn’t be with her, helped ease my concerns. The only reason we are no longer with HCA is because we have moved out of the country. But if we return to the US at any point I will no doubt reach out to Melissa again.
