The Palms at Lake Spivey – Reviews
April 2023
My mother in law and I have been working with Daina Lloyd for several months now. She is an awesome sales director and pretty much a girl Friday! You have a question….she finds the answer and solution. Give her a call!

It was such a pleasure taking my sister for her tour of their facility. Ms. Dana Lloyd & Nurse Patricia gave us such good info. Both of their personalities, knowledge and customer service were Greatly Appreciated. Honestly it's just a bit pricey for my senior sister ,averaging $3500 and up monthly! Understanding that the location is why...

My family lives in the area, so we stopped in for a quick tour on a Saturday. We were meet by a friendly front desk staff, given information and the sales director was there that day. Dana was the best tour guide! She was funny and those glasses!!!! Once we convince my parents to move to the area! The Palms is first on our list!

I have been a driver for this facility for over a year and now a receptionist. I love working here!! My fellow employees are so fun and very thorough with getting their job done sufficiently. The residents are an absolute delight, they brighten my day. I feel like this is my home away from home. The apartments are so inviting and spacious. The courtyard and pool area are gorgeous!! I'd love to live here!! Y'all really should check this place out!!

I am in my 5th year at The Palms. - Best of all is my excellent 2 bed,2 bath apartment with a full kitchen. So well built! - Second, the people living here are friendly, cooperative, and some are fun. - The bus service is very good for doctor appointments and shopping trips and a weekly lunch outing. - The food has ranged from terrible in 2014 and swings between bad and good sometimes, but overall it is good. The Always Available menu is readily available at every meal.- I am glad to be here! The management is doing a good job.

It is expensive but really nice here. I like it. The workers are very nice and the dining staff is helpful. I had one problem with a CNA but the nurse took care of it and there hasnt been any problem since.

I just love The Palms. I told them I am dreaming I am in heaven. They said but you are not sleeping. There is nothing I love more than The Palms. I sold my car and my house. I love it here and I feel like a queen living in a castle. Everything is taken care of! I will never leave The Palms. Thank you to the staff for doing a good job. No better place!

Management and residents alike are very pleasant and a joy to make a great life here. We enjoy our apartment, and after moving from a much larger house, it suits us to a tee! Meals have a good variety, service is good too, but some vegetables could be cooked more thoroughly and served warmer. The People make this place so great!!

The best thing about The Palms are the people, residents and staff!

Was totally a different experience! Was in assisted living originally with a lot of health problems. Praise God for family and friends!! The assisted living staff and caregivers cared well for my needs.

As I complete my 5th year as a resident of independent living in The Palms I can say I am glad I moved here because... - The apartments are large, have a full kitchen with Whirlpool appliances and excellent room thermostat control. With three floors, 4 elevators make moving about quick and easy. - Housekeeping service every two weeks is adequate. The maintenance persons promptly keep any required repair or upkeep done asap. - Since my walking is limited to my apartment, I enjoy a scooter to get around the building. Fortunately, The Palms has a bus with a scooter lift which enables me to go shopping, out to lunch, and church. This is an important part of my life. - The grounds are kept attractive and I have bragged in the past that the large swimming pool in the courtyard is kept clean enough to drink from 12 months of the year! - I have yet to hear a dog bark. - Fellow residents are friendly and pleasant for the most part. - People comment that they never hear sounds coming from an adjacent apartment. I can recommend The Palms to anyone interested.!

We wanted to be near family and a need to downsize made us look for a safe living environment for seniors, and we are happy to have a welcoming home at The Palms. The spacious apartments that included utilities, cable tv, light housekeeping, pet friendly, and near a golf course, met all of our needs. Meeting other residents in the full service dining rooms for breakfast and dinner is so delightful! The outdoor swimming pool, patio, and BBQ grill is another plus that make holidays so great, and inviting our families is wonderful! Also the daily activities, such as games, movies, arts and crafts, bingo, and happy hour keep us busy! Bible studies and morning services give us most special spiritual uplifting times. Medical appointments, shopping, and Sunday worship is provided by The Palms transportation bus and is appreciated. The full time concierge and great staff make The Palms truly a great place to call HOME! I appreciate the folks at the Palms so much!

I lived at The Palms before but moved to a house. I sold the house and moved back to The Palms. Residents are helpful and a lot of different residents from all over the country live here. We have a lot of activities. I plan on staying here for the rest of my life. This is my forever home.

I have been living here at The Palms at Lake Spivey since December 4, 2017. There has not been a time that I have not enjoyed being here. The food has been really good. The people are all friendly and the staff is all real nice. They have transportation anywhere you need to go. I have joined a church here and there are other churches to go to and they have church services here at The Palms and Bible study. The biggest thing is that everyone seems happy here and are like one big family. I have come to stay the rest of my life. I am 91 years old and I even go to the gym here 1 hour a day, 6 days a week.

This place is ok, but thats it. If youre really independent, its a nice place to stay. But they dont check on you like they have on the schedule for activities. If you want the emergency pendant, dont waste your time paying for it. You can press that button as many times as you want, but they will not come to your room unless they try to call your apartment a few times. And even after that, they take their time going to your room or just assume its a mistake. Im so disappointed. My grandmother was in the hospital for most of the time and I made sure her rent was still paid. No one called to check on her.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed Campus Tour at Palms of Lake Spivey. It is definitely the community we envision for aging parent. Trish was amazing and answered all our questions and concerns.
September 2018
Ok. I must say that I was really excited about this place after my tour with Cindy. She was really helpful and answered a lot of the questions I had. I was very nervous about putting my Mother in a home. But she really made me feel good. When I left I was ready to bring my Mother up and have her pick out her apartment. Once I left, I realized I had forgotten to ask one major question. What happens if me Mother needs CPR or any other medical attention. So I called back to ask that question. Well, I can tell you that answer changed my views on this place. And they will not be getting my money EVER!! I was informed that as an independent resident, it was Five Star policy to make the resident comfortable and wait on EMS to arrive. So let me get this straight, I was seriously just told that it was policy for the employees NOT to administer CPR but to wait on EMS??? Are you kidding me? So what youre telling me is that you will willing stand there and watch a resident die because they are in independent living instead of assisted living?? Something has to be done about this and I will definitely pass this policy along to anyone looking for a residence for their elderly parents. This to me is equivalent to murder without a gun.

I moved my mom and dad from Florida to The Palms at Lake Spivey to the Assisted Living. It was wonderful to know that they were taken care of daily but such a wonderful care staff. They loved the food and loved the daily activities. I would recommend The Palms to any family who was thinking of finding a wonderful home for their parents.-P.LaGasse

I have to agree with the food complaint. My father has lived there for 6 months and that has been the only disappointment. Everything else is great. We werent expecting gourmet food, but thought it would be better than it is.
November 2014
My stepdad lives here and the service is excellent, the staff is nice and gentle wirh each of the resident. I recommend this place if your are looking for quality life for the elders
April 2014
My grandparents have lived here for a few years. On the positive side, the people are very friendly, and the facilities are very nice. They have a huge swimming pool and a really nice courtyard area with benches and plenty of open spaces. On the negative side, the food is TERRIBLE. There are two problems. First, the menu quality is really low. They never have a nice steak option on the menu (Ive never seen prime rib or filet mignon). Its mostly chicken dishes or salisbury steak, or some other cheap dish. The other problem is the execution -- its awful. They need to spend some money and hire a head chef who knows what hes doing. Its so bad that my grandmother wont even eat the food anymore -- they go out to restaurants whenever possible.
