So happy with staff at The Palms and Steve Smith in particular! I toured the facilities and found the location to be very bright, well kept and a pleasure to walk around. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant, specifically Mr. Smith. He was very knowledgeable and attentive to his duties. He answered any questions, we had and always carried a smile. His response time to requests were quick and prompt. After touring, I would highly recommend this location for your loved ones. They value maintaining high standards and care about their people BOTH staff and customers alike!

Very happy and satisfied with the care my loved one received at The Palms. I’ve always thought nursing facilities to be a bit scary, but thanks to my experience there at The Palms I have nothing but good things to share. I have to mention specifically the director Tiffany Amey who went above and beyond for my loved one and our visiting relatives. She was so kind, gentle and caring. And for that we are all truly grateful.

This beautiful community has a great courtyard that is equipped with a nice pool and theatre. This community does an outstanding job and is always busy with all sorts of activities for their residents.

There was such good energy throughout, and the amenities model a standard reflecting comfort, fun, and engagement for residents exploring the beauty of their golden years. My father initially started in Independent living. The staff has been so helpful in my father’s transition from independent to assisted living. The Executive Director, Dr. Kendra Smith, was very informative. She listened and was extremely compassionate about my father needs. She was even concerned about my well being as a caregiver. Tiffany the nurse was very tentative to my father’s needs. Brooke and Ionie are two caregivers that really take their time with my father and make sure he knows they are there to assist him with love. I have been more than satisfied with The Palms at Lake Spivey.

My first experience with the Palms At Lake Spivey was simply amazing thanks to a WONDERFUL and KIND HEART Dana who had me sold from the first call. I needed a place for Mom. Dana is down to earth, compassionate and kind. I know that this was home when one night while going out to my vehicle to make a few call backs I received a text from Dana stating your Mom is okay she's with me. She was with Dana from the start because she trusted her as I do. She left her apartment on the second floor to come down and find Dana and went into her office where she felt safe. Mom was correct. I got out of my car and went to the door and say my Mother walking side by side from Dana's office into the events room. Dana was walking at Mom's pace with her hands behind her back staying with Mom's pace but, yet talking to her. I watched them and became teary. Dana won Mom's heart as a person of trust. She is SIMPLY AMAZING! She made this transition from Mom leaving her home where she and Dad raised all of us 5 kids so much easier that one could have imagined! Mom's next go to for security was Fred the security guard that comes on at night. Late nights when she could not sleep, she would go down and talk to Fred. She always told me like Dana, he is kinda and a good listener. He too is simply AMAZING! Precious the BOM treated Mom like family, and said like Dana, Fred, Trent, CNA' S Maryann, "Q" and Michelle we love your Mom and the truly did. OH Trent also made Mom his own! He called her Mom and love to make her laugh! Let me not forget the culinary staff and servers who made her feel like home. All wonderful! Oh front desk ladies Jo and Courtney were also like family to Mom they love her and showed so much compassion and kindness! A wonderful experience and Great Food for residents! My Mother, Self a Brother will forever be great full to the staff, at The Palms At Lake Spivey. Tiffany RN, no I could never forget you either for being kind, honest, compassionate and a listening ear. You to are AMAZING! Laura you are there to! You ROCK to so do the residents that were kind and patient. Love for you all. Dana keep drawing residents in as with youvand others it it not just a job bur, a gift my dear! I cannot speak highly enough of Laura Murray, the Lifestyle 360 Director at the Palms. Laura has taken the time to personally interact with the residents acquiring specific knowledge of their likes and dislikes. By doing this it has enabled her to select activities that the residents are excited to participate in. Laura’s bright personality and sense of humor is refreshing and the residents seek her out. The elevated activities that Laura has selected enriches the residents emotionally, socially and physically. Bingo has its place, but it is not the norm on her schedule. I appreciate the job that Laura is doing to keep my mother and the other residents active and engaged.

Not only does my grandmother reside there, but the level of care and attention provided by the staff, especially Laura Murray, has been exceptional. Her role in customer relations is evident in the way she interacts with the residents and their families. She goes above and beyond to ensure that everyone is happy and well taken care of. We showed up on a wim to check out the facilities and met with Daina who showed us around. She was very helpful, friendly, and informative as were all of the staff that we met! The facility is very open and friendly and seems like a nice place for assisted or independent living.

I chose The Palms at Lake Spivey for my mother because the level of care is 5 stars. I appreciate the fact Raven Director of Activities and her staff make things special for each resident. My family lives in the area, so we stopped in for a quick tour on a Saturday. We were meet by a friendly front desk staff, given information and the sales director was there that day. Dana was the best tour guide! She was funny and those glasses!!!! Once we convince my parents to move to the area! The Palms is first on our list!

My father has loved calling The Palms of Lake Spivey home this last year, but over the past few months everything has gone down hill. Not enough staff, dining experiences are terrible, cancelled activities, skipped showers due to no employees, over flowing laundry, poor house keeping, the list goes on and on. We are currently looking for another Assisted Living Facility in this area. It's a shame, too many good employees are leaving due to management and poor pay. We would hate to make the move, but for what he pays, he deserves so much better!!

This place is ok, but that’s it. If you’re really independent, it’s a nice place to stay. But they don’t check on you like they have on the schedule for activities. If you want the emergency pendant, don’t waste your time paying for it. You can press that button as many times as you want, but they will not come to your room unless they try to call your apartment a few times. And even after that, they take their time going to your room or just assume it’s a mistake. I’m so disappointed. My grandmother was in the hospital for most of the time and I made sure her rent was still paid. No one called to check on her.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed Campus Tour at Palms of Lake Spivey. It is definitely the community we envision for aging parent. Trish was amazing and answered all our questions and concerns.

Ok. I must say that I was really excited about this place after my tour with Cindy. She was really helpful and answered a lot of the questions I had. I was very nervous about putting my Mother in a "home". But she really made me feel good. When I left I was ready to bring my Mother up and have her pick out her apartment. Once I left, I realized I had forgotten to ask one major question. What happens if me Mother needs CPR or any other medical attention. So I called back to ask that question. Well, I can tell you that answer changed my views on this place. And they will not be getting my money EVER!! I was informed that as an independent resident, it was Five Star policy to make the resident comfortable and wait on EMS to arrive. So let me get this straight, I was seriously just told that it was policy for the employees NOT to administer CPR but to wait on EMS??? Are you kidding me? So what you're telling me is that you will willing stand there and watch a resident die because they are in independent living instead of assisted living?? Something has to be done about this and I will definitely pass this policy along to anyone looking for a residence for their elderly parents. This to me is equivalent to murder without a gun.

I moved my mom and dad from Florida to The Palms at Lake Spivey to the Assisted Living. It was wonderful to know that they were taken care of daily but such a wonderful care staff. They loved the food and loved the daily activities. I would recommend The Palms to any family who was thinking of finding a wonderful home for their parents.-P.LaGasse

In the past year the service has gone down hill. The food is awful. Most do not get what's on the menu. Mostly chicken. They order something else and have to wait 1.5 hours to get their meal. Even when it's just a salad. Weekends are worse and when you ask the answer is always that they are short staffed. Unexceptable. One of the workers argued with a resident over the food and the wait. There has been such turn over lately everything seems in chaos. They promote themselves as 5 star but I was being generous with the 2.

I have to agree with the food complaint. My father has lived there for 6 months and that has been the only disappointment. Everything else is great. We weren't expecting gourmet food, but thought it would be better than it is.

My grandparents have lived here for a few years. On the positive side, the people are very friendly, and the facilities are very nice. They have a huge swimming pool and a really nice courtyard area with benches and plenty of open spaces. On the negative side, the food is TERRIBLE. There are two problems. First, the menu quality is really low. They never have a nice steak option on the menu (I've never seen prime rib or filet mignon). It's mostly chicken dishes or salisbury steak, or some other cheap dish. The other problem is the execution -- it's awful. They need to spend some money and hire a head chef who knows what he's doing. It's so bad that my grandmother won't even eat the food anymore -- they go out to restaurants whenever possible.
