I am not sure how all these positive reviews came to be, but they are certainly not reflective of reality. We have been very disappointed after having a parent here for eight months. We were told about weekly cleaning and laundry, but cleaning has been more like once every two months. You have to chase someone down to get laundry service. Staff turnover is horrible. The most concerning situation is the food as the portions are too small, even for the elderly, and what is on the menu isn't what comes out on the plate. My parent has lost too much weight. It appears they are moving more into memory care than assisted living due to the better rates. Talk to someone who lives there or has family there before committing to anything.

Be careful. Most of these good reviews are fake. Benton House negligence and lack of care killed my mother. [Name Removed] is mainly responsible. DO NOT believe a word she says. My mother died and they didn't even express a word of sympathy. As soon as the money stops flowing, the couldn't care less about their residents.

I couldn't have been happier with Benton House. My mom lived there for a couple of years and was well taken care of. She loved the staff and the residents. When my mom passed away, everyone was extremely kind and caring. I would recommend Benton House to anyone looking to find a caring place for their family or themselves.

My mother can be VERY hard to please and she really likes it at Benton House. The staff is awesome and very attentive. She feels safe, well-cared for and loved. Highly recommend.

We are so thankful for the amazing staff at the Benton House! Our loved one has been a resident for almost 3 years. She is in memory care now. The facility is smaller than many and more homey and personal. Each and every person on the day shift and night shift do all they can to keep our family member calm, happy, and well cared for. We especially are grateful for the night shift staff who deal with daily Sundowners issues. Melody, the concierge, is so patient with our calls and concerns. Sweet Jo keeps the residents well engaged and entertained. Julie is incredibly loving and warm in all situations. Everyone we interact with is respectful and responsive to our inquiries regarding our loved one’s physical, emotional, and mental health. Even through the many trials of covid they have done an incredible job of keeping the residents as safe as possible!

Our mom has been here just over a month, and overall we are happy with the Benton House team. From executives, to the med-techs and RA’s and all, but most importantly, mom is happy and doing well! She has improved each day to doing more on her own, participating and enjoying the events, the meals and staff. She often says to my wife and I, “You both did a good job finding a place like this for me. Whenever I need someone for assistance, I push my alert pendant and they are right there to assist me. The staff is good and I like the meals here.” We are happy and feel she is being cared for with most staff doing a great job. We are grateful to find the Benton House with an caring staff, and the desire to do, and be, whatever all the residence need. Thank you Benton House and team for taking good care of our mom!

If you are trying to make the hard decision on where your loved one will live, please consider the Benton House of Sugar Hill!My mother has been a resident there for 3 years.She is always clean, happy and you can tell that she enjoys living there.The staff there are the best I have ever seen.They are always engaging with your loved ones in a variety of activities, daily.I have been to other Assisted Living Facilities, but never had I have one give our family the peace and assurance that Mom is being loved and well taken care of while we are away!We will never be able to Thank you enough, Benton House of Sugar Hill, GA!!!

My parents have been residents of the Benton House of Sugar Hill for two and a half years now.I have always been more than impressed with the level of care they have received during their time there. As a registered nurse, I am not easily impressed when it comes to medical care, so this says a tremendous amount!This year has been challenging for everyone, to say the least.However, the staff at Benton House has maintained the same level of care, compassion, and professionalism I observed prior to Covid. They are cheerful, even while having to wear PPE, and while having to work harder to meet the additional requirements imposed by the CDC. The fact that they have managed to prevent at outbreak at the facility is amazing!It would be impossible to list individuals that have gone above and beyond the call of duty, as there are simply too many (but you know who you are 🙂 ). It is not uncommon for me to call my mom, only to find out that some of the girls are visiting with her, some even on their days off! I cant tell you how much this means to her, and to me as well.In these uncertain times, I can honestly say I am completely at peace having them there, resting assured that they are receiving the absolute best care possible.

The staff at Benton House is fabulous. My mom tells me the food is very good and staff very friendly and attentive. They are extremely creative with events, especially dealing with Covid and CDC regulations. I highly recommend Benton House.

The Benton House Of Sugarhill has changed my life after the first phone call. My mom was currently in the hospital, suffering with issues from cancer. Unfortunately, I didnt have the environment or safety measures to bring her home with me and give her the care she needed. Thats when I googled and found The Benton House. From the first phone call with Melody, who even after 5 million phone calls, always answers the phone with the happiest, most cheerful voice. To Ashley, who made me feel comfortable and safe with all my worries and fears. Barbara, Stephanie, the staff, who lets be honest, has a pretty tough job but are always so, so happy and helpful. And Julianne who I just recently had the pleasure of meeting. This place has changed my life and taken the weight of the world off my shoulders after one phone call. If your questioning where to send your loved one to, this IS the place. This is where you know they will be safe and cared for and loved for when you cant do it all by yourself. Benton House will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you guys, for all you have done. Dealing with all this at 27 years old has been the hardest thing in the world, but the staff members here have heard me out with every concern and have been by my side through this whole thing and I could never thank them or recommend them enough!

My father has been a resident here since August 2018 and couldnt be happier. From the ladies in the front office, to Alan in maintenance, to Kelvin and his staff in the kitchen, and to Angela in activities these folks do an outstanding job. I must give a very special shout out to ALL the med techs and RAS for their countless hours of service and dedication. These individuals are first class and supply endless amounts of care, support, and patience and I can assure you that without them the experience would be quite different. Thank you again for everything you do and remember Dad LOVES YOU ALL.

My husband has improved so much since changing him to this facility. It is such a positive environment and each staff member seems to truly love working here and spoiling the residents. The executive staff is caring, the medical team proficient, and almost every caregiver warm and encouraging as they meet the needs of my husband. Hats off to a great team!

Update to below: We are now being assured, from the Regional Director, Kathleen, that many of these issues will be resolved ASAP. This is FANTASTIC! Indeed, this morning, we were told our mother could have a steak knife to cut her food on her own, comment cards and pencils would be put out at every meal, Sandalay or Julie would be out before every meal to ensure the food was served to everyone within 15 minutes of the seating time and more. We are extremely pleased with the responsiveness of this company.Ill keep you posted. Hooray! for Benton House of Sugar Hill!After two years, the food remains mediocre, at best, despite ongoing feedback from multiple residents and promises to meat with Salude for coaching on how to improve. Meals are frequently late, sometimes cold when they finally arrive, meat portion sizes can vary randomly from resident to resident, meat portions are served in chunks that need to be pre-cut as the residents are not permitted to have knives, and the taste is often quite mediocre. The menu is set at the corporate level.Good Institutional cooks are apparently difficult to find because the pay is not great. This location seems to have a particularly poor cook and the organization in the kitchen, in terms of getting the food out in a timely manner and then following up for feedback remains poor. Many of the other aspects of this assisted living home are quite good, but for the elderly, a good meal is the highlight of their day.

Benton House in Sugar Hill went above and beyond to help us in our time of need. They took my mom in with no notice when she was discharged from a rehabilitation facility the week of Thanksgiving and we were told she could not be at home any longer. They were able to get her a room filled with furniture within 24 hours of our contacting them. They worked very hard to help her adjust to being away from her home and to make her feel welcomed. Once mom was there, they really stepped it up when she had the need for a much higher level of care, making sure she was safe 24 hours a day. The Administrators and staff were loving, caring, and kind to mom. They were truly compassionate and responded to our needs. We are so very grateful to all they have done for mom.

After my mother passed away my father was no longer able to care for himself. I hated the idea of him leaving his home and going to assisted living. But I have to say that the staff at Benton House was terrific! Tanya, the nurses and the activities director are exceptional people. None of us wants to see our parent anywhere but their own home. But if that is no longer a possibility, I would recommend Benton House in Buford/Sugar Hill. They helped my father and I during a very difficult time with grace and compassion.
