I toured this community last week looking for a place for my mom. She currently lives out of state and this move is going to be very hard on her. I did not have an appointment and as soon as | walked in the building I was greeted with warmth. I spoke with the executive director Elizabeth, who listened to all of my concerns. I even cried in her office because I felt so overwhelmed about the situation with my mom. We toured the community in detail and looked at both assisted living and memory care because I wasn't sure which area would be best for my mom. During the tour the interaction that I observed between the executive director Elizabeth, and the residents was heartwarming. I was introduced to the staff that were working with the residents and they were very friendly. Elizabeth gave me all the information that I needed and has made me very comfortable in my decision. I am very excited for Mom to be moving into her new home at benton house of sugar hill. If you're considering a community for your loved one definitely look no further.

Recently moved my Mom to Benton House of Sugar Hill. This is a smaller facility with approximately 40 units all on one floor. Larger facilities with multiple floors were too confusing for her. The Executive Director Elizabeth, Resident Services Director Danielle, and Facilities Manager Brian have all been very welcoming and are quick to respond to any questions, etc. Would highly recommend this assisted care facility; as they make hard situations much easier to deal with based on their combined experience.

I am not sure how all these positive reviews came to be, but they are certainly not reflective of reality. We have been very disappointed after having a parent here for eight months. We were told about weekly cleaning and laundry, but cleaning has been more like once every two months. You have to chase someone down to get laundry service. Staff turnover is horrible. The most concerning situation is the food as the portions are too small, even for the elderly, and what is on the menu isn't what comes out on the plate. My parent has lost too much weight. It appears they are moving more into memory care than assisted living due to the better rates. Talk to someone who lives there or has family there before committing to anything.

Be careful. Most of these good reviews are fake. Benton House negligence and lack of care killed my mother. [Name Removed] is mainly responsible. DO NOT believe a word she says. My mother died and they didn't even express a word of sympathy. As soon as the money stops flowing, the couldn't care less about their residents.

I couldn't have been happier with Benton House. My mom lived there for a couple of years and was well taken care of. She loved the staff and the residents. When my mom passed away, everyone was extremely kind and caring. I would recommend Benton House to anyone looking to find a caring place for their family or themselves.

We are so thankful for the amazing staff at the Benton House! Our loved one has been a resident for almost 3 years. She is in memory care now. The facility is smaller than many and more homey and personal. Each and every person on the day shift and night shift do all they can to keep our family member calm, happy, and well cared for. We especially are grateful for the night shift staff who deal with daily Sundowners issues. Melody, the concierge, is so patient with our calls and concerns. Sweet Jo keeps the residents well engaged and entertained. Julie is incredibly loving and warm in all situations. Everyone we interact with is respectful and responsive to our inquiries regarding our loved one’s physical, emotional, and mental health. Even through the many trials of covid they have done an incredible job of keeping the residents as safe as possible!

My mom has lived at Benton House for over 3 years and our experience has been a good one. Any issues have been quickly addressed. I feel my mom is safe and well taken care of here. The facility is attractive and well laid out for getting around with a walker or wheelchair. Mom needs much care and it is a blessing for her to receive that help.

If you are trying to make the hard decision on where your loved one will live, please consider the Benton House of Sugar Hill! My mother has been a resident there for 3 years. She is always clean, happy and you can tell that she enjoys living there. The staff there are the best I have ever seen. They are always engaging with your loved ones in a variety of activities, daily. I have been to other Assisted Living Facilities, but never had I have one give our family the peace and assurance that Mom is being loved and well taken care of while we are away! The Benton House Of Sugarhill has changed my life after the first phone call. My mom was currently in the hospital, suffering with issues from cancer. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the environment or safety measures to bring her home with me and give her the care she needed. That’s when I googled and found The Benton House. From the first phone call with Melody, who even after 5 million phone calls, always answers the phone with the happiest, most cheerful voice. To Ashley, who made me feel comfortable and safe with all my worries and fears. Barbara, Stephanie, the staff, who let’s be honest, has a pretty tough job but are always so, so happy and helpful. And Julianne who I just recently had the pleasure of meeting. This place has changed my life and taken the weight of the world off my shoulders after one phone call. If your questioning where to send your loved one to, this IS the place. This is where you know they will be safe and cared for and loved for when you can’t do it all by yourself. Benton House will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you guys, for all you have done. Dealing with all this at 27 years old has been the hardest thing in the world, but the staff members here have heard me out with every concern and have been by my side through this whole thing and I could never thank them or recommend them enough!

From the ladies in the front office, to Alan in maintenance, to Kelvin and his staff in the kitchen, and to Angela in activities these folks do an outstanding job. These individuals are first class and supply endless amounts of care, support, and patience and I can assure you that without them the experience would be quite different. Update to below: We are now being assured, from the Regional Director, Kathleen, that many of these issues will be resolved ASAP. This is FANTASTIC! Indeed, this morning, we were told our mother could have a steak knife to cut her food on her own, comment cards and pencils would be put out at every meal, Sandalay or Julie would be out before every meal to ensure the food was served to everyone within 15 minutes of the seating time and more. We are extremely pleased with the responsiveness of this company. I'll keep you posted. Hooray! for Benton House of Sugar Hill! After two years, the food remains mediocre, at best, despite ongoing feedback from multiple residents and promises to meat with Salude for coaching on how to improve. Meals are frequently late, sometimes cold when they finally arrive, meat portion sizes can vary randomly from resident to resident, meat portions are served in chunks that need to be pre-cut as the residents are not permitted to have knives, and the taste is often quite mediocre. The menu is set at the corporate level. Good Institutional cooks are apparently difficult to find because the pay is not great. This location seems to have a particularly poor cook and the organization in the kitchen, in terms of getting the food out in a timely manner and then following up for feedback remains poor. Many of the other aspects of this assisted living home are quite good, but for the elderly, a good meal is the highlight of their day.

After my mother passed away my father was no longer able to care for himself. I hated the idea of him leaving his home and going to assisted living. But I have to say that the staff at Benton House was terrific! Tanya, the nurses and the activities director are exceptional people. None of us wants to see our parent anywhere but their own home. But if that is no longer a possibility, I would recommend Benton House in Buford/Sugar Hill. They helped my father and I during a very difficult time with grace and compassion.
