VA Benefits can Help Pay for an Arizona Senior Living Community
The VA offers a host of benefits to eligible wartime veterans and their spouses. One of them is the Aid and Attendance benefit. For those seniors with low incomes who require additional financing to pay for a senior living community, the Aid and Attendance benefit helps to pay for daily living activity assistance (feeding, toileting, dressing, etc.). Ranking The Best Senior Living Facilities in Arizona
The good news is there are plenty of senior living facilities to choose from in Arizona. Some states are not as fortunate, but Arizona truly has a wealth of options. Choosing the top 15 providers was a challenge, and we first looked up user reviews on established sites like Facebook and Google. We then compared those reviews with those left on our site and assigned the communities a ranking of 1 to 5. Lastly, we consulted the Arizona Department of Health and removed all providers with outstanding citations or violations.

My mom has lived at La Siena for 4 years now. I wouldn’t have her anywhere else. The staff is compassionate and patient. Jonathon, the director is accessible and truly loves his job. The residents are happy with his management and engagement with residents and staff. Nicky goes above and beyond and Martine and Pancho are the best facility managers. My Mom moved into Villa Ocotillo assisted living in 2014. She later moved to the memory care unit in 2018. I cannot say enough about the caring staff at this facility. Mom made her wishes clear, she wanted to stay where she was at rather than be in the same city as family. Of course this made it challenging for us however the VO staff communicated often and would answer any questions we had. The memory care unit staff had a lot of significant challenges dealing with Mom and they found solutions or asked for our assistance when they needed it. Any planned or unannounced visit she was found to be clean, happy and well cared for.

I have been a resident at the Terraces of Phoenix since August of 2015 which by local standards makes me a long-time resident and while nothing is perfect, and 100% of what one looks for is never attainable, certainly 80 to 85% is truly outstanding. I moved here knowing my wife who was suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease would ultimately need the kind and level of hands-on care I could no longer provide. At the time of her death, I said my move here along with our transition from New Jersey were the smartest moves we had made during our 60+ year marriage. I found a loving and caring home expanding the size of my family several times over. We are blessed to have Jaime Roberts at the helm whose incredible leadership brought us safely through the horrific COVID pandemic. She and her wonderful team of caring, talented, and knowledgeable staff left no stone unturned in bringing us to the light at the end of the tunnel. For me, the Terraces brought me a home that is safe, happy and provides peace of mind to me and to my children and grandchildren.
