I can't say enough good things about McDowell Village. We toured many communities before McDowell; however, after meeting Gigi, who is the 'gold standard' of care, the wonderful staff, all the happy & friendly residents, we knew this was mom's home. The staff has been fastastic and so accomidating helping our mom and her little dog Lucy get settled in(Lucy loved her gift basket:-) There are so many experiences offered to the residents! They take trips, bring in great entertainment on a consistent basis, happy hours in the bar, movies in the theater, fun classes such as cookie making, pizza baking, wine tasting, the list goes on and on. Mom is so happy in her new home, and McDowell Village has far exceeded my family's expectations.

My family and I are so pleased that our parent made the decision to move into McDowell Village January 2022. We have had several friends parents that are also residences at McDowell Village. Gigi and the staff are patient and loving to all of the residences. They refer to all of the residences by first name. My mother continues to have the opportunity to social with people closer to her age. She is so busy that the family has to make an appointment to visit her. Her social calendar includes all of the events sponsored by McDowell Village is pretty amazing!! There is everything from concerts to birthday party celebrations monthly. We are very blessed that Gigi worked with us as it took our parent some time to make the decision to leave her home. We have peace of mind knowing that our mom is in a loving and safe environment.

My mother has been a resident of McDowell Village for almost a year and I sing their praises daily! From the moment we toured with Gigi to move in day, was a coordinated effort by the whole team to ensure my mom had everything she needed and felt like this was her new home. The restaurant provides an amazing selection of meals. They offer full services for workouts, therapies, a salon and transportation. It has been been the Most Wonderful place to have my mom call home!!

Our experience with McDowell Village has been outstanding! It took our parents over a year to make a decision on a move. My sister and I thoroughly researched and toured numerous options, taking our parents to only the top choices. None impressed us like McDowell Village! Gigi was always gracious in accommodating more than a few visits and patiently answered all of our numerous (and detailed) questions. All the residents and employees we encountered on those visits were both genuinely friendly and welcoming. We also observed positive interactions between residents and employees, including various activities like music appreciation (the piano players were excellent!), singing, group exercise classes (I was bouncing to the beat and wanted to join them), crafts, etc. We even met the chef on one visit and were pleased to discover he was a previous award-winning restaurant owner in another state! When we had the pleasure of transitioning our parents to McDowell Village, we were warmly welcomed and discovered everything we thought about the place was exactly as we observed (no tricks or surprises after move-in ... whew!). The facilities and décor are modern, without being "stuffy"; it feels like home. Gigi and Kevin are as real and down-to-earth as they come and clearly care about what they're doing and the people to whom they provide service. We can't imagine a better place for our parents to live independently, while enjoying a multitude of activities (did I mention Happy Hour and the in-house movie theater?). It gives us great comfort knowing they are among peers who are quickly becoming friends, welcoming them to their new "neighborhood" and enjoying group activities. We are so happy knowing our parents are surrounded by people who care about them.

I want to take this opportunity to thank the entire staff of McDowell Village for assisting us to make the right choice of an Independent/Assisted Living community for my cousin. The services and resources offered at McDowell Village went far beyond our expectations. Along with several tours, referrals were offered that could handle all aspects of any new arrangements needed. The resources available to the residents of the community made a "very hard" decision easier! Further, the staff in every department were able to answer questions to help us understand the many choices available. The staff and residents are always smiling and calm. The grounds are beautiful as well! Kevin was amazing and made it an excellent experience from start to finish. Thank you everyone at McDowell Village for helping to call this home for my cousin.

I was Invited to Teach Yoga at McDowell Village for a Health Fair They were Having in 2021& as an Old Nurse- I Fell in Love with This Community- It’s like One Big Family! The Staff Is so Caring and Everyone goes Out of Their Way to Help The Residents and Visitors. They offer a Variety of Activities as well as My Chair Yoga and Meditation classes, which they offer 3 times a week. The Food is Always Spectacular and The Options are amazing as well. I’ve met of some of the Residents ‘Fur Babies’ and I Look Forward to the Monthly Display Case of the Residents Collections- They Share for a Month And then Rotate so Another Resident can Share Their Personal Collection. This is The Place as a Nurse, I want to Retire to. Peace and Blessings

My dad lived at McDowell Village for almost 5 years, first in Independant Living then in Assisted Living. What a wonderful place. You can tell from the top staff, Michael Brown and Kristin Koga-London all the way through the dining, housekeeping, activities, caregivers, assisted living, and everyone else that my dads comfort and well being were a priority. One thing that is unique about McDowell Village is that when a resident goes from independent to assisted, they still go to the same dining room, same activities, etc. So, the friends and routines that they have come to know remain the same. This consistency becomes even more important as someone develops needs that require assisted living rather than Independent. Another unique thing is that most places this nice require that you buy in, McDowell Village does not. Every time that I went to see my dad, I enjoyed myself from the moment I walked in the door. The place is just alive! All the staff knew and acknowledged my dad by name. A few regulars would be sitting in the living area reading the paper, my dad might be in the dining room having breakfast with his friends. It was always a pleasure to go in and be greeted by name and say hello to everyone, staff and residents. Ive gotten to know and love many of the residents over the years. Many times I was there for the various activities, whether it was a live musician playing in the living area, or a parade of all the veterans on Veterans Day. There were many parties and celebrations during the time my dad lived there. There are some residents that are completely independant, still drive, do their own thing. But there is also plenty to do and be engaged in if youre not so independent, such as field trips, movie night, happy hour, etc. There is an actual bar along with a movie theater, pool, gym, salon, library, pool table and more. Once in a while, we had family dinners in the private dining room. It was always a treat and such an easy and relaxing way for the whole family to get together. The staff at the front desk always went above and beyond. Jillian and Angel, I can never thank you enough. I think I only know a small portion of everything you did to help my dad. You and the rest of the front desk staff are wonderful people. The kitchen and dining room staff are superb. They were always so very patient with my dad and always so respectful. They always knew what my dad wanted and how to order to meet his specific dietary needs. I know I am leaving out many names, but Luis, Nineth, Rosa, Jeanette, T. J., you are all wonderful. And the food is great! Shawna in Assisted Living has a responsive and caring team. Linda, Vicki, Portia, Rosalinda, Fatima, and all the other caregivers and med techs, thank you so much for everything you did to make sure my dad was safe and taken care of. Floras housekeeping staff are awesome. My dads apartment was cleaned once a week and always looked great. We asked them to do a deep clean once a year and they did an amazing job. Richard, Scott and Maria, thanks for all the light bulbs changed and repairs and maintenance. We always felt like my dad was in a top notch place with everything in perfect working order. Anna at the concierge desk is one of the nicest people I know. She always has a smile on her face and a pleasant outlook. I also appreciate Pearl in the salon for all the nail trims she did for my dad. I just cant say enough great things about McDowell Village. My dad was very content there, and what more could you ask for! I know there are names being left out, but there is not one single staff member at McDowell Village that is not top notch. It is obvious that Kristin and Michael have very high standards and hold the staff to the same.

This is as good as it gets for seniors living independently or needing extra care. We have been nothing but pleased with the care offered and care given. The management of this facility is absolutely top-tier. I have no alliance except for the treatment of my Mother. Please do not hesitate to reach out if I can answer any questions or reinforce my comments.

Gorgeous facility! The staff are all wonderful! Angel at the front desk, and Michelle who works at in the dining are extremely friendly and have great customer service skills! This facility has complimentary lemonade and coffee in the front which I thought was very welcoming. The lobby is beautifully furnished and decorated!

From the very first meeting with Kristin at McDowell Village and through the next year including navigating the current pandemic, Michael Brown, Kristin Koga-London and the entire staff at McDowell Village have been fantastic. They were on top of proper protocols from the very first. Solid, sane decisions with their residents and staffs safety always at the front of their minds. Moving your loved ones into a retirement home for the first time is not an easy decision for anyone and comes with a lot of angst. Suffice to say we couldnt have chosen a better home for them. Several months after moving in, my mom and her significant other both stated Why didnt we move in here sooner? I dont think there could be a better endorsement then that. Extremely happy with our decision and do not hesitate to recommend them to others.

My parents moved into McDowell Village two months ago during the height of the Covid epidemic. They have had the most positive experience! They LOVE their apartment! From day one each staff member has made them feel safe and at home! Their transition from living in their home for 44 years to apartment life has been so smooth...thanks to Executive Director Michael Brown, Gigi, Joe, Kristen....too many to list! If you are considering a place for your parents...McDowell Village is hard to beat!!!

My mother has been a McDowell Village resident for more than 7 years, enjoying life as part of a vibrant community with fascinating and fun residents and a staff that is superb at creating a wonderfully positive environment. We have known that McDowell Village was something truly special since her first year there. But fast forward to 2020 and the challenges of this COVID-19 pandemic, and I find myself with inadequate words to describe the consummate respect and appreciation I have for the leaders and staff at McDowell Village. From the senior leaders of McDowell Village to the housekeepers, all have been on the same page of keeping residents safe while keeping their spirits up. The creativity, commitment, heart and passion of the staff-- now front line heroes-- has my undying praise. The secret to McDowell Village? The people who lead and staff it, with a heart for service and a passion for what they do.

My mother has been the happiest I have ever seen her since she moved into McDowell Village nine years ago and has made so many wonderful friends. The Executive Director, Michael Brown, and Asst. ED, Kristen, are absolutely phenomenal, as is every other member of the team I have met! It is such a relief to know she is so well taken care of there and loved by the entire staff. I even tried to convince her to move closer to me near San Diego but she wouldnt even consider leaving McDowell Village. Maybe it has something to do with Michael taking time out of his incredibly busy schedule as ED to trim her hair when the salon was closed...talk about stellar service! I honestly cant say enough positive things about this community...it is simply the BEST!!!

I am a case manager that often visits my clients in senior living care facilities all around the Scottsdale, Mesa, Phoenix areas and can honestly say Im impressed with the high quality of care that is offered to the residents. The food is great- theres such a variety of choices, and the chef creates daily specials in addition to the regular menu. The staff is friendly and attentive. The service consistently exceeds overall expectations of a senior living facility. The building is clean. Plus, its not uncommon to meet friendly fellow residents who voluntarily express their satisfaction and joy with their experience living there. Please see Executive Sales Director Craig Martin for more information.
