Truly appreciate the team at McDowell Village for spending time with me in touring the beautiful facility for a possible location for my parents down the road. Want to give special shout out to Angel Albanez for following up and providing some great information and insight about the wonderful activities that are available at McDowell Village. Wonderful place, very pleasant staff, and highly recommend!

Angel went way beyond our expectations to help us find a place for our brother. Angel is an asset that McDowell Village should reward for the way he presents McDowell Village to prospective guests and their families.

My mother moved to McDowell Village about seven months ago. She is extremely happy there. The staff are all very attentive, they all know her by name. Any maintenance issues are always dressed in a very timely manner… Every time I am there all of the residents seem very happy. They offer a wide selection of activities, including various exercise classes, as well as , bingo, cards an other fun activities. We are extremely happy that mom chose McDowell Village to call home!

The McDowell Village of Scottsdale is wonderful place to live . My dear grandpa has been live here for 12 years very very happy. The food is delicious and there are always many many choices in the Dining Hall. The staff is caring and very polite and the director is always cheerful and informative. They have a swimming pool, and great exercise room, gorgeous cinema theater, transportation, and several daily activities to choose from. Each resident has a full apartment, with one or two bedrooms, a living room, bathroom and full kitchen. The residents are of a variety of ages. My Abuelito is almost 99 years old and is thriving at McDowell Village Scottsdale. I highly recommend this place !!

We will never be able to say enough good things about McDowell Village. The care and patience they gave to my Mother was inspiring and greatly appreciated. The front desk staff, the cleaning and food teams, the medical team, the event coordinators, and the executive team are incredible people who appear to wake up every morning with one objective….to give the residents the best experience possible. This is a special place. We are big, big fans!

My friend lives here and I visit her often. McDowell is a beautiful community and the staff is amazing. We spoke to Yusely a couple weeks ago and she was very helpful and patient with us. My friend is very happy to live in this community.
November 2023
Yusely is exuberant in her daily interaction with me and I see her also effervescent with all Village residents.

I was able to tour on behalf a good friend for her mother. Gigi, the marketing director was a gem to work with. We were able to meet many smiling residents huddled around the coffee and juice bar they have ready for residents and guests to enjoy. There was a great selection and appeared to be enjoyed by many. I love that many of the residents wear a name tag as a badge of honor. The staff and residents were genuinely happy to be there and had a great relationship with one another. We were able to meet residents that just moved in and also greeted by residents having lived there over 5 years. It was nice to see my friends mother (retired educator) was able to meet other fellow educators while on tour. The apartments are spacious, the common areas were buzzing with residents, and we were invited to enjoy lunch. It was a fantastic introduction to McDowell Village and it was so nice to feel a community that understands the business. It's all about the residents and team. I applaud the management at this community for offering an elevated, yet casual lifestyle.

When we came to visit McDowell Village with our parents we arrived on Appetizers Day (one of their many numerous events). It was such an amazing afternoon with laughter and just good old plain fun! An entire corridor had numerous tables filled with every type of gourmet appetizers you could dream of and the contestants were the residents as well staff members whipping up their specialties. My parents were so impressed on how friendly everyone was that they eagerly signed up to live in McDowell Village the very next day. It's going to be almost a year that they are living here and we all agree it is the best place in Arizona!

The second you walk through the door at McDowell Village, you can feel and see the positive energy of the residents and staff. The resident's are always interacting with each other, the staff and even the guests. Every time I am there, multiple residents will greet me and tell me how happy they are and why their community is so great. McDowell Village does an exceptional job of supporting the residents and creating a beautiful home for them. The residents are engaged with life at McDowell Village; they are taking advantage of the many activities offered each day, the socialization, fun outings and the absolutely delicious food (so many options everyday!) As an organization, the McDowell Village staff is in it for the long haul, many of the staff have been there for 10+ years. This is a company people retire from, like the hostess who is getting ready to retire after 12 years on the team. I highly recommend McDowell Village and can't say enough good things about the community, the residents and the staff.

I recently toured McDowell Village with my mom, she's 85, in good health and wants to live where she has friends her own age and can participate in fun daily activities. Just coming in the door you can feel (and hear) the welcoming friendly atmosphere. There was a wine tasting class going on in the dining room being given by the Executive Director, Michael Brown, down the hall there was a group of residents playing games in a meeting room, there were residents in the library and upstairs in the bar area for happy hour. There were activities in every area of the building. We took our tour with Gigi, she was very friendly and easy to talk to and welcomed every question we had, she explained everything about living there, the daily activities, the daily excursions, the daily meals, how residents get mail, how they attend doctors appts, anything and everything was covered. She showed us several apts that were available, which were spacious, bright and airy. She explained that when someone first moves in, they can be paired with another resident who will walk them through everything that goes on daily until they feel comfortable venturing out on their own so the new resident feels comfortable in this new community. (this was a relief to me as my mom can be shy when she's in a new situation) Even just taking the tour we were constantly greeted by the residents who were warm and engaging. We actually had to pull my mom away from a group she started chatting with so we could continue our tour. Before concluding the tour, the Director Michael Brown stopped by to talk with us and say hello. It was so nice to see he is very genuine and engages with the residents, as we were chatting he told us that he is very proud of this community which really resonated with me. I could see the residents really liked both him and Gigi, but to hear and see that he and Gigi also love this community was very comforting to me and my mom. I cannot say enough good things about McDowell Village, I'm so glad I took the tour, it outshined the other communities we looked at, it was definitely alive with activity from the moment we walked in. I feel in this community my mom will thrive, make friends and just be happy and I will be at ease knowing she's safe in a place where people care.
June 2023
Very beautiful property and super nice caring well dressed staff . I was there for an interview not a tenant but still the inside and outside look like a place I'd def take a loved one if I was in the market. They have a needs caretakers side and an independent living side . Only thing not available at this location is memory care they told me it is available at their Gilbert location tho

A very special facility. It's beautiful, great staff & delicious food.
April 2023
My mother has been a resident at McDowell Village for 4 1/2 years. I am pleased to say we have been so delighted and happy with the environment, activities, and definitely the staff. Starting from the top with Michael as the director, Teddy assistant director to Gi Gi and Angel in Sales, Oscar, Gisselle and all the staff at the front desk, Dario & Evander (transportation). One would be very challenged to find a community as SPECIAL as McDowell Village. Laurie Sanchez

I would recommend this place to everyone. Clean friendly Exceptionally patient with elderly, compassionate
January 2023
I can't say enough good things about McDowell Village. We toured many communities before McDowell; however, after meeting Gigi, who is the 'gold standard' of care, the wonderful staff, all the happy & friendly residents, we knew this was mom's home. The staff has been fastastic and so accomidating helping our mom and her little dog Lucy get settled in(Lucy loved her gift basket:-) There are so many experiences offered to the residents! They take trips, bring in great entertainment on a consistent basis, happy hours in the bar, movies in the theater, fun classes such as cookie making, pizza baking, wine tasting, the list goes on and on. Mom is so happy in her new home, and McDowell Village has far exceeded my family's expectations.
January 2023
My mother has been a resident of McDowell Village for almost a year and I sing their praises daily! From the moment we toured with Gigi to move in day, was a coordinated effort by the whole team to ensure my mom had everything she needed and felt like this was her new home. The restaurant provides an amazing selection of meals. They offer full services for workouts, therapies, a salon and transportation. It has been been the Most Wonderful place to have my mom call home!!
January 2023
My family and I are so pleased that our parent made the decision to move into McDowell Village January 2022. We have had several friends parents that are also residences at McDowell Village. Gigi and the staff are patient and loving to all of the residences. They refer to all of the residences by first name. My mother continues to have the opportunity to social with people closer to her age. She is so busy that the family has to make an appointment to visit her. Her social calendar includes all of the events sponsored by McDowell Village is pretty amazing!! There is everything from concerts to birthday party celebrations monthly. We are very blessed that Gigi worked with us as it took our parent some time to make the decision to leave her home. We have peace of mind knowing that our mom is in a loving and safe environment.
January 2023
Our experience with McDowell Village has been outstanding! It took our parents over a year to make a decision on a move. My sister and I thoroughly researched and toured numerous options, taking our parents to only the top choices. None impressed us like McDowell Village! Gigi was always gracious in accommodating more than a few visits and patiently answered all of our numerous (and detailed) questions. All the residents and employees we encountered on those visits were both genuinely friendly and welcoming. We also observed positive interactions between residents and employees, including various activities like music appreciation (the piano players were excellent!), singing, group exercise classes (I was bouncing to the beat and wanted to join them), crafts, etc. We even met the chef on one visit and were pleased to discover he was a previous award-winning restaurant owner in another state! When we had the pleasure of transitioning our parents to McDowell Village, we were warmly welcomed and discovered everything we thought about the place was exactly as we observed (no tricks or surprises after move-in ... whew!). The facilities and décor are modern, without being "stuffy"; it feels like home. Gigi and Kevin are as real and down-to-earth as they come and clearly care about what they're doing and the people to whom they provide service. We can't imagine a better place for our parents to live independently, while enjoying a multitude of activities (did I mention Happy Hour and the in-house movie theater?). It gives us great comfort knowing they are among peers who are quickly becoming friends, welcoming them to their new "neighborhood" and enjoying group activities. We are so happy knowing our parents are surrounded by people who care about them.

I want to take this opportunity to thank the entire staff of McDowell Village for assisting us to make the right choice of an Independent/Assisted Living community for my cousin. The services and resources offered at McDowell Village went far beyond our expectations. Along with several tours, referrals were offered that could handle all aspects of any new arrangements needed. The resources available to the residents of the community made a "very hard" decision easier! Further, the staff in every department were able to answer questions to help us understand the many choices available. The staff and residents are always smiling and calm. The grounds are beautiful as well! Kevin was amazing and made it an excellent experience from start to finish. Thank you everyone at McDowell Village for helping to call this home for my cousin.

I checked out other places and doing so you sense an atmosphere in each place. A feeling is created by the directors, as well as the staff, and the residents. Walking into McDowell Village was a wonderful experience because there were people around. We were greeted with a smile and felt instantly welcomed. Speaking with residents you soon realize the majority of people there are very happy. The amenities here are in abundance!! We have many opportunities including... exercise classes, outings, entertainment, good food, tech support, transportation, housekeeping, and a staff most willing to help solve problems. Animals are welcomed!

McDowell Village was excellent before they changed ownership then with covid it became more like a prison. No dining. Microwave meals delivered to the rooms. It just isn't the same.
February 2021
My dad lived at McDowell Village for almost 5 years, first in Independant Living then in Assisted Living. What a wonderful place. You can tell from the top staff, Michael Brown and Kristin Koga-London all the way through the dining, housekeeping, activities, caregivers, assisted living, and everyone else that my dads comfort and well being were a priority. One thing that is unique about McDowell Village is that when a resident goes from independent to assisted, they still go to the same dining room, same activities, etc. So, the friends and routines that they have come to know remain the same. This consistency becomes even more important as someone develops needs that require assisted living rather than Independent. Another unique thing is that most places this nice require that you buy in, McDowell Village does not. Every time that I went to see my dad, I enjoyed myself from the moment I walked in the door. The place is just alive! All the staff knew and acknowledged my dad by name. A few regulars would be sitting in the living area reading the paper, my dad might be in the dining room having breakfast with his friends. It was always a pleasure to go in and be greeted by name and say hello to everyone, staff and residents. Ive gotten to know and love many of the residents over the years. Many times I was there for the various activities, whether it was a live musician playing in the living area, or a parade of all the veterans on Veterans Day. There were many parties and celebrations during the time my dad lived there. There are some residents that are completely independant, still drive, do their own thing. But there is also plenty to do and be engaged in if youre not so independent, such as field trips, movie night, happy hour, etc. There is an actual bar along with a movie theater, pool, gym, salon, library, pool table and more. Once in a while, we had family dinners in the private dining room. It was always a treat and such an easy and relaxing way for the whole family to get together. The staff at the front desk always went above and beyond. Jillian and Angel, I can never thank you enough. I think I only know a small portion of everything you did to help my dad. You and the rest of the front desk staff are wonderful people. The kitchen and dining room staff are superb. They were always so very patient with my dad and always so respectful. They always knew what my dad wanted and how to order to meet his specific dietary needs. I know I am leaving out many names, but Luis, Nineth, Rosa, Jeanette, T. J., you are all wonderful. And the food is great! Shawna in Assisted Living has a responsive and caring team. Linda, Vicki, Portia, Rosalinda, Fatima, and all the other caregivers and med techs, thank you so much for everything you did to make sure my dad was safe and taken care of. Floras housekeeping staff are awesome. My dads apartment was cleaned once a week and always looked great. We asked them to do a deep clean once a year and they did an amazing job. Richard, Scott and Maria, thanks for all the light bulbs changed and repairs and maintenance. We always felt like my dad was in a top notch place with everything in perfect working order. Anna at the concierge desk is one of the nicest people I know. She always has a smile on her face and a pleasant outlook. I also appreciate Pearl in the salon for all the nail trims she did for my dad. I just cant say enough great things about McDowell Village. My dad was very content there, and what more could you ask for! I know there are names being left out, but there is not one single staff member at McDowell Village that is not top notch. It is obvious that Kristin and Michael have very high standards and hold the staff to the same.
December 2020
They are really concerned about taking care of their residents. Easy to work with.
October 2020
Front dest dude is cute
October 2020
This is as good as it gets for seniors living independently or needing extra care. We have been nothing but pleased with the care offered and care given. The management of this facility is absolutely top-tier. I have no alliance except for the treatment of my Mother. Please do not hesitate to reach out if I can answer any questions or reinforce my comments.
October 2020
Meals were excellent before Covid but they only allow dine in eating breakfast and lunch. Dinner is a boxed meal. This really isnt satisfactory.
October 2020
Gorgeous facility! The staff are all wonderful! Angel at the front desk, and Michelle who works at in the dining are extremely friendly and have great customer service skills! This facility has complimentary lemonade and coffee in the front which I thought was very welcoming. The lobby is beautifully furnished and decorated!
September 2020
From the very first meeting with Kristin at McDowell Village and through the next year including navigating the current pandemic, Michael Brown, Kristin Koga-London and the entire staff at McDowell Village have been fantastic. They were on top of proper protocols from the very first. Solid, sane decisions with their residents and staffs safety always at the front of their minds. Moving your loved ones into a retirement home for the first time is not an easy decision for anyone and comes with a lot of angst. Suffice to say we couldnt have chosen a better home for them. Several months after moving in, my mom and her significant other both stated Why didnt we move in here sooner? I dont think there could be a better endorsement then that. Extremely happy with our decision and do not hesitate to recommend them to others.
September 2020
The meals are served restaurant type facility that is as good as most restaurants. The menu is extensive and the staff is excellent. It is easy to get help or have your questions answered.
September 2020
My parents moved into McDowell Village two months ago during the height of the Covid epidemic. They have had the most positive experience! They LOVE their apartment! From day one each staff member has made them feel safe and at home! Their transition from living in their home for 44 years to apartment life has been so smooth...thanks to Executive Director Michael Brown, Gigi, Joe, Kristen....too many to list! If you are considering a place for your parents...McDowell Village is hard to beat!!!
September 2020
Good amenities. Good staff.
August 2020
My mother has been a McDowell Village resident for more than 7 years, enjoying life as part of a vibrant community with fascinating and fun residents and a staff that is superb at creating a wonderfully positive environment. We have known that McDowell Village was something truly special since her first year there. But fast forward to 2020 and the challenges of this COVID-19 pandemic, and I find myself with inadequate words to describe the consummate respect and appreciation I have for the leaders and staff at McDowell Village. From the senior leaders of McDowell Village to the housekeepers, all have been on the same page of keeping residents safe while keeping their spirits up. The creativity, commitment, heart and passion of the staff-- now front line heroes-- has my undying praise. The secret to McDowell Village? The people who lead and staff it, with a heart for service and a passion for what they do.
August 2020
Michael Brown and all of the people working at McDowell Village have been great at working to make this senior living facility a very pleasant place to live. My Mom has lived at McDowell Village for 10 years and she is very happy to call it home.
August 2020
My mother has been the happiest I have ever seen her since she moved into McDowell Village nine years ago and has made so many wonderful friends. The Executive Director, Michael Brown, and Asst. ED, Kristen, are absolutely phenomenal, as is every other member of the team I have met! It is such a relief to know she is so well taken care of there and loved by the entire staff. I even tried to convince her to move closer to me near San Diego but she wouldnt even consider leaving McDowell Village. Maybe it has something to do with Michael taking time out of his incredibly busy schedule as ED to trim her hair when the salon was closed...talk about stellar service! I honestly cant say enough positive things about this community...it is simply the BEST!!!
June 2020
I am a case manager that often visits my clients in senior living care facilities all around the Scottsdale, Mesa, Phoenix areas and can honestly say Im impressed with the high quality of care that is offered to the residents. The food is great- theres such a variety of choices, and the chef creates daily specials in addition to the regular menu. The staff is friendly and attentive. The service consistently exceeds overall expectations of a senior living facility. The building is clean. Plus, its not uncommon to meet friendly fellow residents who voluntarily express their satisfaction and joy with their experience living there. Please see Executive Sales Director Craig Martin for more information.
March 2020
My 94 year mother is happy, safe, and enjoying life. The staff is wonderful and she loves the food. They are doing a wonderful job during this time of crisis keeping in touch with family members.

It USA very beautiful facility. The staff are very nice and show that they care. Its located in a nice area of town. They serve good meals and always have a choice of what you want to eat. Food is very good, and menu for each meal changes daily.

My Mom has been a resident for six months, she loves it and my family also loves it. The staff is always friendly and very helpful. The food in the restaurant is excellent. My Mom has made a lot of new friends and she is so happy.
July 2018
Everyone is so happy and cheerful. We have movies every day, games to play, happy hour at 3 every day and exercise plus water AerobicsAnd even more things to do like book clubs of Scrabble games card games and so on. Also have activities at the Senior center next door walking distance from us. Also have therapy center walking distance also which I next to us. Bus and car to take you to the store of your choice with in 10miles. People are always helpful. Also we have very good entertainment of all kinds as well. Best place to live. Ive been here 5 and a half years. I wouldnt have it any other way. My daughter lives in Mesa. My oldest son lives in Vancouver, Washington State second Son lives in San Diego California and third son lives in the middle of the ocean as cruise director and entertainer. I get around pretty good with my walker so I depend on my self as much as I can. I wouldnt want to be anywhere else.
March 2018
This is a really lovely community! More high end in my opinion. Michael the executive director is really personable! Shawna and Esmeralda truly understand the needs of the residents. I cant say I know the pricing but I have yet to meet an unhappy resident or employee.
March 2016
