We all get older, but some of us need a little extra support during our senior years. Approaching this next step in life can be overwhelming. What services will you or a loved one need? Is the level of care across senior living communities comparable? What happens if you require more care as the years pass? You only want the best for you or your loved one, and we’re here to help.
For seniors living in Indiana, the Hoosier State offers a wealth of elderly housing facility options. Our goal in putting together the following list of 10 communities was to facilitate your search. We did our best to find communities in the most popular parts of the state, but if you don’t see a provider in your area, our senior living directory is an excellent resource. We also have professional senior living advisors available to assist you.
A Location Tip When Choosing an Indiana Senior Living Community
Realtors talk about the importance of location. This is because location really matters. It matters how close you are to schools, your work, hospitals, grocery stores, etc. When it comes to choosing a senior living community, the very same applies. However, the most important reference point to wherever you choose should be your primary care provider. As we age medical appointments become more frequent. Living an hour or more away from your provider could complicate matters. Be sure to choose a community within a reasonable distance.
Ranking The Best Senior Living Facilities in Indiana
So how did we arrive at our top 15 Indiana senior living communities? We first reviewed comments and reviews on sites like Facebook and Google. We then crossed and compared these with the reviews left on our site. Next, to ensure there were no outstanding compliance violations or complaints, we consulted with the Indiana Department of Health.
Money is always top-of-mind, and while prices in Indiana do range from $700 to $2,900, on average you can expect to pay roughly $1,900 per month for a standard elderly living facility. Some Indiana communities charge a one-time move-in fee, and if memory care or skilled nursing is needed, the average price will certainly go up. These are additional items to keep in mind.

This is a loving, caring facility with a very attentive staff. My dad moved to Wyndmoor from out of state in March 2020 just before the COVID restrictions hit. I was worried he would not have a smooth transition, but the staff made sure he did. They have helped me with all of my concerns during this difficult time. I am so appreciative! My dad is very happy here, and I am very pleased with the quality of care that he is receiving.

My father in law is doing very well since his move to this community. We are happy with his move here, we know he is in a good place. They have a lovely staff, and they have been very helpful and kind. There plenty of activities available for the residents, and he is trying a few of them. He is satisfied with meals. They are having a nice holiday dinner for the residents and their families. He is safe and in good hands at this community. We are pleased, and I would recommend it.

My mother just recently moved into the Residences at Coffee Creek, and although she has a tendency to be extremely particular, she has had only positive things to say about her new home there! I am so thankful to all of the staff there who made her transition into assisted living incredibly easy, even during these difficult times. They were there for us every step of the way, and I am so relieved knowing that my mother is happy, healthy, and being well cared for.
