I’ve heard so many wonderful things about Westminster over the years, and I personally know several people who work there. Because of that, I went into today’s tour with high expectations. Unfortunately, I left feeling very disappointed. I scheduled a tour, but what we were given felt extremely half‘hearted. We weren’t shown a resident room, a dining room, or any of the main areas families usually want to see. We were walked down a hallway, shown a nurses’ station, and that was it. The marketing person didn’t seem interested in giving a full tour, and if I hadn’t run into a past coworker and stopped to catch up for a moment, I would’ve been in and out in under three minutes. With all the good things I’ve heard and with me personally knowing so many staff members who work hard and care deeply, I expected a much more welcoming and informative experience. Instead, the tour left me feeling let down and unsure of what the facility truly has to offer. I’m hoping this was just an off day, because I know Westminster has a strong reputation. But based on today’s visit, I didn’t get the chance to see the quality everyone talks about.

My husband and I have lived here since 2014. We are so happy we made the move to WV when we did. There are many activities every day. My advice is to move into WV when you are still young enough to enjoy all the activities. There is a beauty shop and store right on site. The food in the dining room is delicious. The fitness center keeps you fit. Our chorus gives 3 concerts each year. There is so much to do here. I even learned to play the uke! Take a tour. Ask questions. Enjoy life here at WV. You will make new friends and learn new things.

I was initially quite nervous about being admitted to Westminster Village in Terre Haute, Indiana, but my experience turned out to be exceptional. From the moment I arrived, the nurses were fabulous, immediately putting me at ease with their kindness and professionalism. They were always willing to come to my aid whenever I needed assistance, and their compassionate care made all the difference. The physical therapy team was equally impressive. They were patient, encouraging, and incredibly skilled, helping me rebuild my confidence every step of the way. The entire staff at Westminster Village was amazing, consistently going above and beyond to ensure I felt comfortable and supported. One of the unexpected highlights of my stay was the food. Every meal was out of this world, bursting with flavor and meticulously prepared. It was clear that a lot of thought and care went into the dining experience, making it a daily delight. Overall, I feel very fortunate to have had my recovery at Westminster Village. Their dedication to excellence and genuine care for their residents make them a standout facility in Terre Haute.

I cannot express enough positive comments about our experience. My mother relocated from San Antonio, TX to Westminster. Every staff member hit it out of the park in terms of how they handled this long distance transition. They expedited, accommodated, and performed at a high level. They were prepared and provided us with sufficient time to prepare during this transition period. They were very helpful and just didn’t perform their roles, but went above and beyond at every level. Westminster is not only a beautiful facility, the residents seem genuinely happy to be there. Every need is accommodated and gives the families peace of mind knowing their loved ones receive the promise of care for the balance of their days.

The enrollment staff been over backwards to make her feel welcome and get her an accommodations that were comfortable for her and the nursing and daily staff were unbelievably attentive. Mom has been in the Healthcare Center at Westminster Village for over two years now and truly considers it her home. I like the small community feeling- it seems as if everyone from the nursing staff and administration through housekeeping staff, bus drivers, maintenance staff and even residents in the independent living area knows my mom, takes the time to greet her by name and talk to her, and make sure that she’s doing ok. Given that I live too far to visit as frequently as I would like, I find it reassuring to know so many people truly care and are looking out for her. Westminster Village does a lovely job maintaining their facilities, planning special events for their residents, and just generally trying to make life as pleasant as possible for their residents. The best times are in the spring when ducklings live in the flowered courtyard, brightening everyone’s day with their antics. While we all wish for our parents (and ourselves) to be able to stay in our own homes, it’s reassuring to know there are lovely places with kind people who are there when needed. Westminster Village is that kind of place.

My parents have lived in Westminster Village assisted living and health center since June, 2021. Even though it has been a difficult transition, moving from their home of 65 years, the staff and administration have been very helpful in making them feel at home. When my dad was very ill, the staff took excellent care of him and were very supportive to our family when he passed away in January. Heather (social services coordinator) maintains excellent communication with our family and goes above and beyond to make sure we have all our questions answered.

My father died recently. He and my mother have lived at Westminster in Terre Haute for almost two years. The staff in the Health Center took excellent care of my dad after he was discharged from the hospital. The entire staff--from dining room servers, to the nurses, to administrators and maintenance employees--treats residents with loving kindness. I stayed with my mother for three weeks, so I got a taste of life at Westminster. The quality of the food, the entertainment for residents and the facility itself are top-notch. The grounds are well tended and offer a place for outdoor walking. Westminster has a bank branch, a beauty salon, a little store for sundries, an excellent gym and a well-stocked arts and crafts room. Honestly, I thought about moving in! I'm so glad my parents moved here. My mom says it is the best place for her to be, and my entire family agrees.

My mother recently moved into Westminster Village and me and my siblings couldn't be more impressed. The time and attention they took with my mom and taking the time to provide myself, sister, and brother tours to make sure Westminster Village was the perfect fit for my mom. So, impressed they customize independent living apartments to the resident’s specifications. AMAZING!!! The activities available appeal to every interest and they seek input from the residents. Mom's apt wasn't ready for move-in but due to recent falls in her home we needed to act quickly. Kate immediately jumped on the case and within 2 days located an apt for mom to stay until her apt is remodeled. Walking around the community and witnessing the friendly nature of everyone isn't something you can fake. The staff is extremely attentive and the residents warm and welcoming. Today's report from Mom: lunch was terrific, going to a painting class this afternoon and loving my new apartment. My mother, Libby Gelder, was a longtime resident of Westminster Village. She moved there because many of her friends were there, she would attend activities there even before she was a resident, and she would often visit her friends there to have lunch. My mother passed away this May. She was 100 years old. One of the last things she said to me was how happy she had been living there, The management was always responsive to her needs and the staff was very attentive and loving to her. Since my sister and I live far away from Terre Haute and only got there occasionally, we were happy our mother was happy to be there. Moving there was entirely her decision...one she never regretted. One of the things that impressed me most about Westminster was how they handled and are still handling the Covid pandemic. They did all the right things to keep their residents safe. I always felt my mother was in the best of hands there. In summary, I can't say enough nice things about Westminster. They were wonderful to my mother and I'll always be appreciative of that. My mother was happy being there the entire time she was a resident.

The nurses and therapists at Westminster Village Healthcare and Rehab really impressed me with their caring help, words of encouragement (they seemed to know just what to say and how and when to say it), and their willingness to serve and minister to the needs of a very weak Covid Pneumonia patient freshly discharged from the hospital, who still needed help weaning themselves off of oxygen and also needed to develop strength to be able to walk again. I remain indebted to the therapists Laura and Ashley, and the very kind social services planning lady who facilitated my returning home after three weeks at Westminster, along with the many caring nurses who prepared me well to finish my rehabilitation at home. Also, the food was of nearly gourmet quality. It played an important role in my recovery, as it motivated me to eat when I rarely felt like it. It was so much better than the hospital food I had been given! I am happy to say that now, a month after leaving Westminster, I feel great! I am now able to walk a mile, and I am fully weaned from oxygen. Without Westminster's help, I do not know what I would have done, because I definitely was in no shape to go directly home after being discharged (all too early) from the over-crowded hospital, which at that time (like many hospitals around the world) was bulging from its seams with Covid patients! Thank you, Mr. Tyler Eason, for making a place for me at Westminster Village Health and Rehab when I desperately needed it!

I was there for rehab for a few weeks and the staff bent over backwards for me. I cant say enough about what they did for me. Rehab people were so good and gave me quite a workout to get me back on my feet. the nurses were great, especially one who worked nights and I wish I could remember her name. The aides helped out very much and took time during their busy day to assist me the best they could. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was relaxing. The courtyard was so enjoyable and peaceful. And I will always be grateful to Clay, Jacob, Lisa and Dan for their help and going out of their way to make sure I was cared for. 5 stars definitely.

my wife, wanda tofaute, and i moved to one of the VILLAS at westminster about 4 years ago----THE BEST DECISION that we have made in our lifetimes (except marrying each other---now 58 years !!) it is truly "carefree living". we have never seen so many happy people. the CLUB ROOM is great for casual dining, as will be the new TERRACE outdoor dining, and, of course the CROSSROADS MAIN DINING ROOM (newly redecorated) is very pleasant with salad bar and so many menu choices both for lunch and dinner. the special event dinners several times a year are elegant with cocktail and dinners in keeping with themes. special events have included an orchestra during dinners. the staff at WESTMINSTER go out of their way to help you-----my wife and i have told many friends (many of whom have moved to the campus and purchased residences ) "be careful what you ask for at WESTMINSTER because you most likely will get it!" also, the security patrols of the entire campus, and, the emergency call buttons give peace of mind to residence here. also support groups for many resident conditions and full time nursing staff are huge plus. there are SO MANY AMENITIES at WESTMINSTER that there is not room here to list them all. come to one of the open houses that are held regularly by the marketing office, or, call us and come by we will be glad to set up a time welcome to our home to see for yourself how great a place to live this is.!!
