I guess this place is better than being homeless. It is warm and for the most part clean. The staff is pretty nice to your face. They don't really care for these people at all! The residents sit in the dining room for sometimes 2 hours at a meal. When/if the food they order does come, it is frequently cold and/or uncooked. Frequently, there may be no napkins, no silverware, no coffee, tea or lemonade.... no appropriate sized dishes, no ice cream, no jelly, or even toast, etc., etc. The "dining room" is completely unmanaged. These "residents" sit for hours at a time waiting for their drinks, waiting for their order to be taken, waiting for their food. Many just leave and go back to their rooms without being served. Many are on meds and need their food in order to take them. Complaints go absolutely unanswered but with a smile and a promise. NEVER again would I put someone I cared about in this place and no one I know will either. These "residents" are stuck there and the staff knows it? Where else will the eat? What choices do they have once they have moved in? This is a terrible place.

My grandmother stayed here in 2012. She passed away that July. We were told after the fact of her clothing wishes (she had told them about) to be used for her funeral. I contacted several times last year to get her medical records for family history reasons and I was given the run around. I was told the last conversation that a file was found and they would call me back but they never did- mia.

I worked with Carrie Justus to set up a respite stay in the memory care unit at Meadow Lakes. She was absolutely amazing! She took my information and ran with it. She was kind and understanding. What a blessing she has been. I also walked through the memory care unit without telling anyone what I was doing. It was so nice. The residents were, for the most part, all out doing activities, the CNA's and RN were so respectful and caring. The whole place smelled nice. What a great experience.

My dad was transferred there for rehab from hospital on July 1st. Within the few hours of his arrival my sister and I were beyond upset with nurse staff and wanted to get our dad out. Dad came in with fractured upper right arm and wearing sling on arm. Two nurses came in to get bedding together while dad on bed and they roll him over on right arm that is fractured. Dad howls out in pain. This would not be the first time that numerous nurses would grab & pull on this arm during his 14 day stay there. Complaints made, nurses told by us arm is fractured and a sister brought in huge neon orange poster board written dad has fractured arm & that he can not stand or walk by himself. It does not help. Nurse tells us she doesn't recommend this place for care, she doesn't like working there and poor communication between nurses. The talk/meeting about when his 'rehab' would start was on Friday July 8th. Seven days after he has been admitted in their rehab care. Also on that day he was considered per nurse "a new patient" and has to be secluded for seven days with door always closed and gowns worn for visits with him. My exclamation was that he is not a new patient! He had been there since July 1st! His rehab was a good fifteen minutes for top 3 days after the 8th. He is not rehashed but back in hospital for original issue before transferring there and when he needs to go to rehab again it will NOT be at this place for sure. Understaffed, doessn't follow directions causing dad pain and miscommunication. I give two stars because he was fed well and he was cleaned up after continually soiling himself in diaper and bed since he couldn't get up. Oh and being there an x-ray found a crack in his shoulder.

My mother-in-law is in Meadow Lakes Long Term Care. I don't have any complaints about staffing, but her room and their food are something to complain about. Her room is a shared room. Her roommate has 2/3rds of their shared room. My Mother-in-law is left with this small cubical that is extremely difficult to fit a visit and is tathered and worn! One of her windows doesn't shut completely and the walls are ripped and torn. I would not recommend the long term care unit for anyone! It is hidious! I do have pictures to back up everything I have said. I am so upset that we have had to make this decision for her!

If you can possibly avoid sending any loved ones to this facility, Please, please do! They cannot keep staff, as anyone can flip burgers at McDonald's and make more $. They instead will pay a better wage to the " Agency ", which are folks who come and go, that never really develope any kind of bond with the residents. The food is so bad I wouldn't bait a mousetrap with it. My folks rarely get what they ordered and zero care and imagination goes into the menu. May as well heat up a T.V. dinner, and that would be better than what is served to the residents. The " Agency " staff are thieves!!! My mother has lost so many garments from them doing her laundry, and they will not reimburse for lost clothing. Basically... sorry about your luck! When my folks leave with family, they have had money and jewelry stolen from their room. There is zero locks and no one seems to care, as this has been going on for over 2 years. Grievance mean nothing here. I have personally witnessed residents who had their lights on for way too long and no one comes. My mother, who is paralyzed on 1 side sat on the toilet for well over 15 minutes, in need of a nurse, or care giver just to help her stand. Was good thing I came to visit when I did This place is a disaster and no one gives a fuck, because a life here means nothing. I personally know several CN's and RN's that have worked here. Those folks talk and know each other. The reputation here is known throughout the land amongst reputable staff. I bet if they got paid what you all pay the Agency, they just might stay a while. someone gets rich while these poor folks suffer. Stay far, far away from Meadow Lakes. Anyone from American Senior Communities have the balls to talk to me personally, PLEASE DO!

Since hes been here at Meadow Lakes he has gotten exceptional care! ❤ They have all been amazing and so sweet and very helpful and right on top of things! Listening to everything thats gone on with him and our concerns, come every time we need them, go over and beyond to get what he needs to have so that he has the best care and we cannot Thank you enough! His white count was starting to elevate again, his midline incision was look pretty nasty after he left that hospital with a lot of nasty drainage and had me extremely worried but you all were right on top of it and have cleaned his wounds extremely well and got him back on antibiotics and made sure hes staying hydrated because of losing so much output from his ostomy! Called the surgeon and notified him about it right away! You guys rock! And now today his midline incision has never looked BETTER! Hardly any drainage! Its starting to close in! You can see his belly button actually starting to form back into the normal shape its supposed to be! Thank you Jesus! This week coming up he will begin to have physical therapy and begin to get stronger! I just wanted to give my Meadow Lakes Family a HUGE THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU GUYS HAVE DONE FOR US! From the thoughts and prayers to the cards and all the support you all have been giving and precious understanding hearts! Youve been there for us and now I want to Thank you for the exceptional care you have given my husband because it has been extremely scary for all of us in this situation and being here has been such a blessing to us and lifted the fear from us! Hes definitely eating a lot more since hes been here hes gotten an appetite plus he said hes was scared to be at that hospital. So he feels comfortable here and now he can rest and eat, and he says the food is good! Im looking forward to seeing what will come for the week with therapy! Again, Thank you Meadow Lakes Staff for all youve done! ❤ God Bless you all!

Meadow Lakes gave my Dad the best of care all the way to his death last week from cancer. He moved in middle of March and found friends and caregivers who loved him right from the start. They did everything possible to keep him comfortable as the incurable cancer spread through his body and caused more and more complications. We will forever be grateful to the folks at Meadow Lakes, for caring for, and loving our Dad to the end!

As a home care owner, we staffed a dementia client, to get acclimated to the Assisted Living side. The ED had really good tips to share and was a partner in this client's success. The dietician aides knew everyone's order and what they could/couldn't have. Very nice experience with them.
