We designed the dining area at Shawnee Gardens to be a cozy, home style setting for our residents and family members. Our specialty is customized menus that provide delicious, home cooked meals that meet the needs of all residents.

Shawnee Gardens is second to none! My mother has been a resident of Shawnee Gardens for over 10 years now. She has unique health issues and has been taken care of incredibly well throughout all of it. Connie and Kym are the most caring and loving caretakers I have every met. In addition, they are smart and very experienced when it comes to taking care of older adults and their unique set of needs that evolve over time. They are very particular about their staff and work hard to hire the best and most caring staff they can. The food is often home-grown from the garden and includes a wide variety of delicious homemade recipes - complete with frequent input from the residents. For my mother, living at Shawnee Gardens has been like living at home. Shawnee Gardens is a small, well-kept, clean, facility that is housed in a bucolic neighborhood of Boulder. The residents sit down around the dining table for three meals/day together. They are treated like family. I hope I can live at Shawnee Gardens when I get older.

Shawnee is a home not a facility. Living at Shawnee has added years to Edie's life. The small number of residents means each resident get individual care, there is a personal connection between the staff and residents.

Shawnee Gardens is a home and the atmosphere is that of being in a caring family. Our mother would have been lost and confused in a large facility. At Shawnee Gardens she was content and we were grateful for the assurance that she was safe and well cared for.

A Place For Mom
We liked it. My mother didn't complain about it, although she wanted to go home. She shared her room with someone else. She broke her hip and couldn't go back home, so we moved her to Shawnee Gardens. She had Alzheimer's, and she wasn't in a locked down but she was on the second floor. Her mind wasn't all that bad, and she dealt with all that so well. She never complained about anything.

My mother has been a resident of Shawnee Gardens for nine years. She will be celebrating her 101st birthday there this month. Mom feels that Shawnee Gardens is her home and that the staff, especially the owner, is her family. She has been nurtured physically and emotionally by the staff and the life that is provided at Shawnee Gardens. The food is wholesome and delicious--I have eaten many meals there with the residents--the surroundings are cozy and light-filled and the care is given with understanding and love. Mom's family is grateful to Shawnee Gardens for providing such a loving home.
