There are few states with as many quality senior living communities as Colorado. Making the transition to an elderly provider is a big step. Many seniors require additional assistance later in life, and senior living centers provide a range of amenities and services depending on your specific needs. But where do you start? What services and amenities should you be searching for?
We sought to identify the top elderly housing facilities in Colorado. The following list is our top communities, but if you do not find a provider in your area our senior living directory is a great resource. The directory has a range of search functions and filters based on living type, zip code, and city. The process is user-friendly and you may also contact us at any time in your search. We are here to help.
How to Budget for a Colorado Senior Living Community
One of the most important things to keep in mind when deciding on transitioning to a senior living community is your budget. While you might have a rough number in mind, getting the expenses on paper is a highly useful exercise. It is quite common to assume an approximate figure of what we spend weekly. But after further insight, there are often expenses that come as a surprise. Having a detailed understanding of your budget will aid in the process of finding the right community for you.
Ranking The Best Senior Living Facilities in Colorado
To arrive at our list of top Colorado elderly housing facilities, we reviewed popular sites such as Google and Facebook. We then crossed the reviews left on these sites with those left on our site. At this point, we assigned a score of 1 to 5 to the providers and then consulted the Colorado Department of Health. Those with outstanding violations or citations were removed from the list.
Colorado features an array of senior living providers. Affordability is a big issue, and monthly rates range from $1,400 to $5,500. Those facilities that offer memory care or more skilled nursing will most certainly be above $4,500 in Colorado. The closer you get to the $1,400 price point the more independent the community. On average, you can expect to spend $2,400 for a Colorado senior living community.

What residents and loved ones have to say about The Gallery at Broomfield Assisted & Senior Living:
I want to write a review for this fabulous place The Gallery of Broomfield! This place is over a 10 star it’s the best decision we have ever made. We moved in 90 days ago, and if I had to do all over, I would do the very, very same thing. The staff here is unbelievable they become family. They are so caring, so kind so compassionate they can’t do enough for you,I don’t even have the words to tell you how wonderful each and everyone is. The dining room staff, the office staff, the housekeeping staff, the caregiver staff each and every one of them are way above any expectation you could ever have. We love living here this is going to be our forever home I honestly can’t say enough good things about this place ,all the residents here LOVE it. It’s like one big family and one big party. There’s music all the time , quiet time if you want it. There is fun games for everyone , puzzles , books , movies- it’s just absolutely amazing!! I think rather than you listening to me , you should just come and check it out because I can’t even describe how wonderful it is. We’re gonna be here forever and we are so blessed to be able to be living in a place like this! This is from Ron & Babs !! Thank you !

What residents and loved ones have to say about Sunrise of Westminster:
My mother lived at Sunrise of Westminster for several years. She was always treated with kindness and compassion. I highly recomend this facility to any who is searching. My mother was a very high level of need (hoyer lift, showering, dressing) and they did everything necessary to help her and prevent her from having to move to a nursing home. I appreciated all of them very much.

What residents and loved ones have to say about Legend at Broomfield:
My mom has been at Legend for around 4 and a half years. We had to select a place and move her in very quickly following an inpatient hospital stay. They worked with us to make this happen. After Covid, I wanted to give my mom a voice in where she was living. I scheduled visits and took her to see the other local options. All those visits did was confirm that she was in the right place. The leadership team is strong and approachable. The director Ericka and her team are visible in the community. They are also open to feedback from residents and families and work hard to insure their staff is strong, skilled and dependable. The facility is clean and welcoming and the staff really cares. The size of the community is just right – big enough to have a range of activities and events and small enough to feel intimate. They have a great covered drop off and pick up area that is especially nice in bad weather. Best part is my mom is happy here and feels supported.

What residents and loved ones have to say about The Belleview Senior Living:
We recently helped my elderly mom move into the Belleview because she could no longer manage at home alone. From the very first day, when we were given a tour, all the way through to her move-in day, the staff has been incredible. Everyone is very knowledgeable and friendly. They are so kind to my mom and have set her up with ambassadors who have lived there for a while to help her get acclimated. We all love the dining room, and her apartment is absolutely beautiful. The maintenance staff is prompt and attentive with all of her concerns and questions. We highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a wonderful place for their elderly parent. The food is also great!!

What residents and loved ones have to say about Hyland Hills Dial Senior Living:
Not sure where to start… I am very impressed with what I saw and experienced at this place which is now my dear aunt’s home. What stood out the most and made the biggest impression- Whenever we encountered or interacted with a staff member, I saw how each of them greeted my aunt by name with a genuine, caring, and often nurturing nature. I saw how much that meant to her, and it meant the world to me. My aunt is the kindest person I know. She deserves kindness in return, and that is what she is getting here. What stood out to me right away was how clean, bright and welcoming this place is. Loved the cheerful and modern decor, the landscaping/patios/flowers…. Then there is the 5th floor deck… Wow! In addition to all of that, I had a meal in the dining room the first night I arrived in town (for my three day visit.). The food was very good, the people working there were friendly, patient, and attentive, and the atmosphere was delightful. I am happy that my aunt is here for her new home. She made so many comments throughout my visit about how nice people/staff are to her. That warms my heart and gives me peace of mind. I appreciate everyone who is making this place as nice as it is for my aunt and for other residents who are experiencing a new and often difficult chapter of their lives. Thank you so very much and keep up the good work.

What residents and loved ones have to say about Bonaventure of Castle Rock:
My parents have lived here for quite some time, and from the moment they moved in it has been a continuously pleasant experience. I moved them here because I was moving out of state and wanted them to be safe, and I must say the communication with the staff and the care they show my family has been so wonderful that I havent worried about them once! Every time I talk to my mom and dad on the phone they are telling me how wonderful their friends there are and how much they enjoy the activities, especially all the various singers and musicians that come to perform. When I call the receptionists are always warm and inviting, and are very kind in person as well. Ive only dined with my parents at Bonaventure a couple of times, but the food was outstanding both times, and they seem very pleased with their daily dining experience.I could go on and on about how magnificent Bonaventure has been. It is such a blessing to have the peace of mind that comes from having my mom and dad here. I cant thank the team here enough for all they do, they really go above and beyond in every manner and I am so grateful.Thank you Bonaventure in Castle Rock!

What residents and loved ones have to say about Seven Lakes Memory Care:
My mom is living at Seven Lakes. I could say so much that is good about Seven Lakes, but let me give an example. When I went to see my mom, she was sitting in her wheelchair with a shoe in her lap. I looked at her feet and both shoes were on, so I took the extra shoe and placed it off to the side. Within 5 minutes, I saw the executive director gently escorting a woman to a chair with the shoe in his hand. After the resident was seated, he knelt down and put the shoe on her foot, all the while talking kindly to the woman. THIS is Seven Lakes. All the staff, from the director on down, care so much for the residents. They are trained regularly in how to communicate with those suffering from dementia, how to care for them, and how to make them feel content. My mom is doing well under their care, and I am so grateful.
