Tip on Paying for British Columbia Senior Living: Annuities
Annuities are a financial tool designed to produce a steady stream of income throughout your retirement years. An annuity is a contract between you and an insurance company, where you make a series of payments to the insurer in exchange for these payments at some future date. The insurer then pays these payments back to you in a pre-defined period of time. Annuities work well if you have contributed before retirement, but there is also the option of paying for an annuity in one lump payment.

Ranking The Best Senior Living Facilities in British Columbia

To rank the 15 best communities in British Columbia, we employed a scoring system. On a scale of 1 to 5 we ranked the region’s providers based on online reviews and whether any violations or citations were found. Our team reviewed Facebook, Google, and similar trustworthy sites, and combined those with reviews from our own users. Points were then deducted for issues reported to the British Columbia Ministry of Health

On average, an assisted living center in British Columbia costs $3,300 per month. Providers in this range give residents meals, basic amenities, and services. The costs increase dramatically if specialized services like memory care or skilled nursing are required. There are also communities that cost less and offer a more independent living setting, but offer no care.

What residents and loved ones have to say about Ross Place Retirement Residence:

My partners mom just went into ross place about 2 months ago and she loves it…..We looked at other properties but Ross place just felt like home to her, lots of activities and great food. We also looked at Berwick Shelbourne really nice as well but Ross Place was just closer to us. I hope this helps when looking for a retirement home.

What residents and loved ones have to say about Granville Gardens Retirement Residence:

My mom has lived here for 2 1/2 years. She has faced many adjustments, her husband of 70 years passed away, COVID lockdown, and living alone for the first time in her life. Granville Gardens made her feel important and loved. The staff go above to make her feel loved and valued. Eating with her friends is her highlight of the day. She joins activities and has made new friends. Change is never easy, imagine doing it at 100, GG makes the transition a positive one. A special thanks to the staff and management who made her 100th birthday special for her and her family, even during COVID.

What residents and loved ones have to say about Westminster House:

3 years ago we had to make the difficult decision of placing our mother in a care home. We toured quite a few in the South Surrey area but when we entered Westminster House we knew we were in the right place. The staff was very welcoming, the home felt warm and cozy but the most positive thing that they offer, is the different tiers of care which meant mom would not have to be moved if and when her condition deteriorated. We are very happy we made Westminster House mom’s new home, everything is just as we had anticipated. Great staff, great care, great food and lots of activities. Thank you for all you do
