The grounds of this community are spectacular. The trees and outdoor spaces are so wonderful for the residents to be able to enjoy. Everyone I have met cares tremendously for the people they care for. When the time comes, I would be confident moving my family into this community.

I had a great time painting with my Mother, Kathleen, at the Sunrise Paint and Sip last Thursday. Emily from the Paint Box Art Studio in Fernwood was a thorough facilitator throughout the event. She was encouraging and demonstrated many techniques so that all participants could try them and then soar with their freestyle watercolour masterpieces. The beverages and charcuterie provided by the chef at Sunrise were such a treat. The entire group was engaged and shared their works with each other. Thank you Sunrise for hosting the families who participated with the residents. I would love to return to another Sip and Paint - anytime.

We've enjoyed meeting Amanda who managed to cover an extensive amount of information in a appropriate amount of time. We saw the amenties both inside and outside. She was transparent with our questions and left us with an open invitation to make a return visit.

My mother received the most compassionate and respectful care from the dedicated and professional team of people at Sunrise during the final year of her life. The skillful and loving care was extended to our entire family while we supported Mum in her final days. The support and kindness came from absolutely every member of the team, from kitchen, to nursing, to admin to maintenance. I cannot say enough for the integrity of this splendid care community. My father still lives at Sunrise, and the support and consideration of his (and my) grieving continues. He is in good hands. Should you wonder if your loved one will be honored, respected, and treated with skill and kindness at Sunrise, I can tell you that the answer is "Yes." In addition, I must mention the overall meticulous maintenance, the attention to detail, the lovely entertainment and stimulating social opportunities (many of which explicitly involve family members) and the general uplifting tone at Sunrise. It truly is a happy and welcoming place to be.

I was tasked with finding a permanent home for an old friend during Covid 2 years ago. After research I chose Sunrise for staff and friendliness. I was welcomed,shown as much as possible but what convinced me was the atmosphere. Two years later my friend still comments on the staff efficiency , the organization and has no regrets. Very caring staff who looked after my mother for about 2 years. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and did their best to facilitate Skype calls etc as we live so far away. Lots of varied activities, a spacious and sunny dining room and common rooms and v well appointed rooms and suites.

To the Staff at Sunrise Senior Care, Victoria My wife and I have spent the last four weeks as respite residents of Sunrise Senior Care, Victoria. Joanne has been recovering from open heart surgery(a triple bypass) and she needed special care and attention. As her husband of 47 years and being 100 years old, it was my place to be with her and it has been a most pleasant experience. The staff here were extremely efficient, courteous and so very kind. All were simply great, but we would like to offer special thanks to Connie in the dining room, the LPN Ali and RN's Jacqueline and Tina. Nothing seemed too much trouble for any of the staff when we needed assistance. As for the food, there was a choice offered for every meal and thus any appetite could be satisfied. In addition, Chef James took a personal interest and great care in Joanne's special food requirements. Thank you everyone. I would also like to mention that the periodic live music interludes offered during the afternoons were a positive delight. Without hesitation we would give Sunrise Senior Care Victoria our highest recommendation. As a physio who provides services to clients in their homes where they live, the majority of the clients I am fortunate enough to treat live in one of the many great seniors residences here in Victoria. When it comes to Sunrise of Victoria, everything feels top-notch! The attention to detail is very noticeable. It starts with the wonderful outdoor setting nestled within the huge Sequoia's, and continues inside to the incredibly tasteful decor which invites you to enjoy your time living there or visiting with a loved one. More importantly though, I could not say enough about the team of caring people at all levels who work there. Every single person I have met has been super friendly, respectful, and wonderful with all interactions with the residents and myself. Every single one, no exaggeration, and there are lots of people around helping to make this place feel as alive as it does. Many times I have left with a huge smile on my face after wandering over to see what all the commotion is about, only to observe staff and residents laughing, cheering, and playing together during some crazy activity. Balloon tennis comes to mind. The place feels great. I love being in it. If someone told me I had no choice and that I had to be there more and see more residents at Sunrise, I would be an even happier physio! If the time comes where a friend or loved one is either looking or needing to make this type of a move, I would sincerely hope that a room here would be available for them.

Sunrise came highly recommended by a family member for our aunt who has been living in Victoria for over 60 years. Wilma lived and worked in Victoria all of her adult life, but, unfortunately, family members did not live close by. She had a couple of serious falls in her home so we decided to try assisted living with prepared meals. The care was was fine, but we found there were times where Wilma was still frequenting hospitals anytime day and night. We discussed having Wilma move closer to family, but she was not keen on the change. We visited Sunrise and we were welcomed and guided through care that was available. Monthly, the care maybe a little more or less depending on what has been going on. We are in contact most days and the Sunrise Smile News and pictures keep us informed and we are able to discuss the activities of her day. The move went without a hitch. Sunrise had everything in place. Amanda Price, Jessie Luther and John Procopio get full marks. Amanda and Jessie, kept in contact with us during the move and John and Karla had everything looking so homey for her. The fact that all amenities are available, pretty much, in house, the meals, care, activities and outings are wonderful. Roshni, Wilma's companion has also been great to deal with.

Excellent care in a welcoming, comfortable environment. The staff are all so well trained, caring and compassionate. They go out of their way to be helpful to both the residents and their families, and to communicate regularly with the families about their loved one's care, and activities in the care home. The underground visitor parking is a much appreciated bonus!

We are very pleased with the care our loved one has received. The residents are engaged with many activities and outings. The staff have always been kind and respectful but have had brief communication lapses. However, communication has improved lately and has all worked out in the end. Private dementia care is expensive and costs continue to rise, however our options here in Victoria are limited. We are very happy with the care Sunrise has provided for our family member.

Sunrise in Victoria does not feel institutional, but rather, homey, bright, relaxed, cozy and fun. The pace is slow and the staff friendly and caring. After 20 months there, my mother passed away after a brief illness, safe and cozy and comfortable in her room. The attentiveness of the nursing and caretaking staff was wonderful. Her environment was kept quiet and everything was done to make things easier for the family.

My clients are all Seniors so I see the inside of a lot of seniors residences. The managers here are very professional with attention to details. Diligent screening and attention to protocols are in full effect. The staff has very little turnover and are especially helpful. Very secure access tells me how dedicated they are for their clients safety, yet it resembles a boutique hotel in action, and we always read the menus and events in the elevators. Their rooms have a nice variety of floor plans too. I'm also impressed with their memory care staff. They are so patient and you can tell that they enjoy their very demanding work. Somehow it's like a symphony of teamwork. Victoria is lucky to have so many great properties for seniors. From what I see and know, Sunrise of Victoria is one of the finest run seniors residences anywhere.

My mother moved into a lovely and bright room at Sunrise of Victoria in February of 2020. I visited my mother shortly after she moved in and I was impressed with the warm and inviting common areas and the beautiful trees and flowers surrounding the residence. Moreover, I was suitably impressed by the organization, programming, staff and leadership. In light of Covid precautions and provincial policy, I was not able to visit again until May 2021, when I spent three weeks in Victoria, visiting my mother every day. Although I had been continually impressed with the care that my mother was receiving, this trip gave me a far better opportunity to get to know some of the staff and I could not have been more impressed. The executive director, Janet Power, sets a warm, authentic, inclusive and professional tone that appears consistent among all levels of staff. One nurse mentioned in passing to me that she had family members who were also working at Sunrise. I remarked that it must be a good place to work and she expressed to me how wonderful it was to love going to work every day. I would discover that all of the staff that I met were caring and authentic, each one of them making it a little bit easier to leave my mother in their good hands. I would highly recommend this facility.
