It has been about a year since I came to Amenida. The atmosphere is nice, and I like that I can eat Korean food with different menus every day. The staff are always friendly, and it is convenient to have a Korean family doctor so I don't have to go outside. Also, having a nurse and pharmacist on duty every day is really convenient. It is very good. Thank you.

I have been in Amenida for 16 months. I feel very comfortable living here. It is so relaxing because they clean once a week and prepare delicious meals with care for three meals a day. I can only imagine how difficult it must be to prepare a different menu every day for a family of over a hundred people. That aspect truly touches me. The staff make me feel very at ease and always look after me. As a Korean, I am so happy to be able to eat Korean food to my heart's content. Whenever something happens to me, they look after me day and night. Since they treat me like family, living here is truly comfortable. I am so happy that they continue to show interest in me and care for me; I can feel their sincerity. Thank you. I am doing well.

As I began looking into housing options for retirement, I went on a tour of Amenida last Saturday. The residents appeared to be living comfortably, and essential medical services as well as various activities were being provided. The staff member, Anna, even prepared lunch for me and kindly answered my numerous questions, so I returned with a very positive impression! I felt grateful to know that there is such a cozy senior home that even offers Korean food.

Amenida sets a new standard for elder care, as a warmly caring, multi-cultural, multi-lingual private senior community. The center is warmly decorated with original art and has a salon, massage, gym - small but good equipment, and excellent food. My mom has been there for 7 months now, and likes the Korean food there better than my cooking. What makes this place so special though is the upbeat, positive and conscientious staff. They are so kind, responsive and patient.

First of all, it is very convenient because the family doctor visits and pharmacy nurses are present every day. Cooking is a hassle, so it is great to be able to eat meals every day without worry. Korean food is delicious right now, but it would be even better if I could eat something even tastier.

We live in Seattle USA and our parents have been living in BC Canada for over 20 years, they are 85 years old now, this year both of them moved into Amenida Senior Community with the big help from Ms. Anna Kang, Anna is a great representative who provided great services. Our parents are very happy living here in this sunset community and have told all their friends to visit the facility hoping them to move in here. The facility is very clean, the meals are excellent and medical care is very helpful

This place is a hidden gem . It is the only place in BC that will allow couples with different needs to be together ( long term care and independent) . The staff is so caring and the food is delicious. Compared to other places the monthly rental is reasonable . The Director, Rosa, is amazing. It’s a very authentic and caring place .

There is always room for improvement but I would highly recommend Amenida to all retires and not just Koreans. Loving Family of Amenida: My mother, who celebrated her 100th birthday last year, celebrated her birthday again this year by the grace of God. As her birthday approached, she became frail, so I travelled from Toronto to Amenida to be with her. After staying with my mother for a month, I went to see the general manager, Rosa Park, to say goodbye to her, and I told her about some of my experiences in Amenida. 1. First, I told her that the staff and everyone who works at Amenida are consistently gentle, kind, humble, and always ready to help, so I always felt comfortable dealing with them. In response, the manager, Rosa told me that when hiring people, Amenida looks for their character more than anything else and that they always emphasize kindness, patience, and a servant's heart because the people they serve are all elderly and have many different types of disabilities, and that their work cannot be done without patience and compassion. 2. I then told her that I found the atmosphere of Amenida to be very welcoming because I have met many people at Amenida who have such good hearts and care for others and that my love for Amenida grows every time I see their beautiful actions here and there. The manager, Rosa then told me that her dream is for everyone at Amenida to have a sense of family and to be a part of the Amenida family, caring and loving each other, even in times of difficulty. She said that she tries to lead by example, and for that, her staff leads by example. 3. Thirdly, I told Rosa that I liked the food overall, and most of the time, both Western and Korean food was good for me, but I heard some people complain that the food was bland and tasteless. Rosa said that food is an essential part of life in Amenida requiring a lot of thought into it in many ways: First, the people who serve it have to do it with care so that the recipients feel good, and then the food has to look good, taste good, and be nutritious, especially for the elderly, so it has to be tailored to their health, so that people who eat salty and spicy food may not like it. 4. Next, I asked Rosa if there is anything that can be done for people who have been in Amenida for a long time and must go to hospice, especially if they are a couple and must be separated, which is very sad and scary for them. Rosa said that's why they are considering setting up a long-term care section in Amenida so that all the Amenida families can stay together in the same place and then go to heaven from there. 5. Finally, when I mentioned that Amenida is a desirable senior community and I wish there were more like it in other cities, Rosa said that the president plans to build 40 Amenidas in North America. I was excited and envisioned myself living in an Amenida in the future. After staying with my mother in Amenida for a month, she felt much more relaxed, and her speech and behavior became almost normal. I decided to return to Toronto, thinking that she could live alone for a while longer. Amenida has Rosa, the general manager, a Covid heroine who kept the Amenida family intact during the long Covid pandemic, her kind staff to solve all the difficulties, a faithful pastor to take care of all spiritual things, and angelic friends of faith around my mother, so I was somewhat relieved, but still sad and heavy-hearted to leave my mother alone with her deteriorating memory and frail body. Moreover, the thought that this might be the last time I would see her alive dragged my feet. Trusting the Lord's protection and love, I took the heavy step. Peter Ro

To be honest, I was very worried when my father moved in there the year before last. I wondered if he would be able to adapt to the unfamiliar environment and his picky eating habits, especially since he was losing weight at the time. So, I agonized over whether having him move in was the right decision. I told him that even while he was living there, he could move out if he didn't like it. Now, after living there for about a year and four months, he says he is very satisfied because he has made friends and the Korean meals served every day are excellent. The staff take good care of him, and a pharmacist visits frequently to check his health. The room is always clean thanks to regular cleaning. His face has brightened up beyond recognition, and he has even gained some weight, so I told him that Amenida is better than his own children. When I asked him if he would like to live with me again after leaving Amenida, he said he likes it there, haha. If you are currently considering moving in like I was in the past, I highly recommend it.

My father has been living in Amenida for 3 years. He said that nowhere could be better than here, and he thinks he made the best choice and feels peaceful and safe living in Amenida. I was also impressed by the well-balanced and delicious good quality meals and how the staff and managers served with all their heart and sincerity. In fact, my father is healthier now, and I see many people become healthier and live long lives. It's nice that seniors can enjoy various hobby programs, outings, parties, and consolidation performances from various communities. In addition, they can receive home support from Fraser Health every day. A hairdresser and a doctor are available every week, and very kind and caring pharmacists are on the site every meal time. So it is very convenient and safe to live here. The best thing is that there is a church in Amenida, so my father can worship in Korean and receive the words, prayers, and spiritual care from a fully dedicated pastor. I also attend Sunday worship with my father. I feel so lucky to live very close to Amenida. I would like to thank Amenida because I can feel that they truly care for seniors. I highly recommend this place, and I would like to live here in my future. My father has been living in Amenida for three years now. While here, he has received a great deal of love, attention, and help from the staff and managers. He says that nowhere could be better than this place, that it was the best choice for him, and that he always feels at peace here. I was also deeply moved by the well-balanced and delicious meals served here and by how every single staff member serves with such heartfelt dedication. There is a saying that those who come to Amenida actually become healthier and live longer, and I think that is the case for my father as well. There are also many opportunities for seniors to enjoy various hobby programs, outdoor excursions, parties, and performances. In addition, a hairdresser and a doctor visit every week, and very kind pharmacists manage medication at every meal. Since we can also receive home support from Fraser Health, it is so convenient and safe that I feel at ease entrusting my father to them with confidence. The best part is that there is a church in Amenida, so my father can worship in Korean and receive the sermons, prayers, and love from a truly dedicated pastor. I also attend Sunday services with my father. I am truly grateful to be able to enjoy the benefits of this place so close to Amenida. Thank you so much, Amenida. I highly recommend this place, and I would love to live here in the future.

I have been a resident at Amenida for about 5 years, and overall have found it to be enjoyable and comfortable. The staff are responsive, and pleasant to deal with. In addition, they respond well to minor injuries that may occur on a day to day basis. For many residents, the kitchen has an excellent reputation, while for others the food quality is questionable. Obviously this is dependent on ones taste and personal sense. Overall Amenida is a pleasant place to live, and we are treated well by the staff. I would recommend Amenida to seniors requiring regular attention and a pleasant staff to deal with.

After checking out a few different places, my mom felt more comfortable at Amenida. She doesn't speak Korean but surprisingly she became friends with them and other nationalities as well. She participates in different activities and does exercise more. She had a couple of issues with the food at one time but those were resolved immediately. Overall, she's so at home and enjoys being at Amenida.

I live in Southern California where there are lots of Koreans and yet there are no senior homes in the US quite like Amenida in BC. Time and time again, my family and I and especially my grandfather, experienced first-hand the countless love, care, and support from the staff who devotes their time and energy and even sacrifice their own personal lifestyle for him (and others as well). Recently, my grandfather celebrated his 111th birthday and this momentous occasion exceeded my family's and my expectations. The food was excellent (beyond many of the restaurants in the Vancouver/Surrey area); the staff were supportive, friendly, and mindful of us and my grandfather; the facility was clean and spacious; and there are plenty of activities and events to keep the elderly busy and active. The staff does not idly stand by unlike many places but makes every effort to engage with the elders and encourage in participation. Most importantly, they provide 3 services per week for the elderly to participate in and to hear the word of God! My grandfather loves this tight-knit community of like minded people who values relationships and traditions and respects one another. This is his family away from his own and a home like the one in Korea. We are overwhelmingly blessed and grateful to the staff and the Amenida family for pouring out their lives, their love, and their sacrifices for my grandfather and all those under their care.
