It's hard to express the gratitude and support my husband and myself received from GSV. My husband was treated with loving yet professional care. All the staff from management to the nurses, care aids, recreational workers and other professional staff are amazing !! I really didn't think I would find a sense of peace but I did while my husband was a resident there for 7 1/2 months. Thank you to all. So much appreciated. Arlene Wright

Guildford Senior Village was well worth the extended wait of 21 months. And, after over a year of residency, has exceeded our expectations. The nursing staff and care aides are very kind, caring, compassionate and respectful. Recreation programming is varied; excersize, drumming, card games, painting classes, etc. Overall, a welcoming community.

My main concern is the missed tooth brushing, sometimes for several days judging by the buildup of scum on my wife's teeth. She has regular dental appointments with a dentist and hygienist and they have less than glowing comment about her daily dental health care. This concern has been expressed to thr GSV staff but any improvements are short-lived.

I started working here March 2023. The residents, families and team have been so warm and welcoming. The team provides holistic care, within a resident focused approach. GSV is a LTC Community which is nestled in a quiet residential neighbourhood, but close to Guildford Mall. I thoroughly enjoy getting out into one of our two garden courtyards for some fresh air, and helping out the residents in the garden. Make sure to check out our veggie patch! As an employee, I can say that GSV is an awesome place to work. A place that you wake up in the morning HAPPY having to work. Leadership team always helping and taking care of every concern from family/staff/resident. Care team: they are so lovely and friendly, I always see them taking care of our residents with love and attention. Housekeepers/Laundry always keeping our place fresh and clean. Kitchen team: always preparing delicious meals with love. Recreation team: managing visitations at GSV taking care of all protocols to keep our residents safe from outside contact. In conclusion: no words to describe how wonderful this place is.

We are so grateful for the staff and management at Gulidford! Frankly they allow us to breathe for the first time in over 3 years experience with both public and private settings! He's quite happy overall and it's been that way since day 1. We had angels within the public system but to a person, Guildford has been a huge breath of fresh air. No one likes to place a loved one but I advocated longer than the others for placement given the sheer scope of needs changes as they all decline. Mom left us a year ago the 11th May 2021 at TRIM and grieving is hampered by too many horrific situations and happenings that were both direct and indirect affects on our Mom. Its not an environment anyone should want to find themselves the mercy of in my opinion, especially without constant advocacy and even with that it still can make you feel like you're targeted for doing so. Actions taken around COVID-19 which became the health and LTC capacity shortfalls for the elderly convenient veil over issues that long existed prior to COVID-19 and in my humble opinion have long ago spoke volumes that in fact, I do feel we were targeted. I personally witnessed interactions and spoke to many who indicated they felt the same. GUILDFORD SENIORS VILLAGE is NOT that environment and for that we will forever be grateful as well. Already! Dad is currently thriving without the nagging tortures of runny noses, heartburn or skin issues of which he had a few and even that dogged heartburn he suffered with for so long. It proves the value of a team of people working in tandem with the residents well being in mind and his contentment is in part because of all of you! Thank you ever so much! Just please keep doing what you do because we see it and we so very much appreciate every one of you. The fact that you are soooo communicative and transparent and show it through swift attention and response to one of few concerns we've encountered thus far! I can't say we have heard the phrase "I don't know" one time which in itself is so appreciated more than you know. 5 stars!!! Don't let anyone break your stride! You're special people that care for another's family we would hope they are treated. I hope for everyone the kindness that is Guildford Seniors Village's at the latter years of life. S Jones

I can't express enough how grateful I am for the staff at Guilford Seniors Village. Everyone for caregivers, nurses, management and front desk are very friendly and helpful. They treat my dad with respect, compassion and the care they provide for him is excellent. It's like they are taking care of their own family member. I visit my dad everyday, and the care they show to all the residents is what all care home should be.

I couldn't have asked for a better Nursing home for my mum than Guildford Seniors Village for the past 5 1/2 years! Right from day one my mums care by the team including: kitchen staff, RCAs, Nurses as well as the recreational team was exemplary! The compassion and kindness the staff displayed not just with my mum, but with every resident regardless of their financial background proved to me their endless desire to to be caregivers for the right reasons. I will be forever grateful for the Angels of Guildford Seniors Village.

I have been able to spend some weeks at the Guildford Seniors Village during the past year as a respite resident. It's one of the best places around for respite care. Well-located in the downtown part of Guildford, it's a clean and secure environment with delicious meals, excellent staff, and lots of good recreational choices. My first two-week stay was in August 2018 when I was beginning to recuperate from an aneurysm/stroke I had in November 2017. At that time, I could not do much by myself so relied on the capable and loving care given to me by everyone at the Village. My second visit was in December 2018 before Christmas. On this visit, I was able to sit on the side of the bed for a short period and feed myself with my left hand only. I was still quite needy for assistance to bathe and dress. I was taken in a wheelchair to meals and other events. Staff were always happy to help me whether it be bathing, dressing, or taking me to recreation activities. I felt very lucky to be in my 'home away from home'. My third visit to the Guildford Seniors Village was in April 2019. After seven months of physiotherapy, I had improved considerably. I was now in a walker, feeding myself, and dressing myself. However, I am 88 and still need assistance with some daily activities. The Village has been the perfect place for me at all stages of my recovery. Mary Mills
