Today is Mother's Day, our first Mother's Day without our mom, Jane. She had been slipping away from us for many years, due to her dementia. At age 90, all of a sudden, one day, Mom was not able to stand up, and Dad was not physically able to care for her. The doctor said to call 911, and she ended up spending some time in the hospital, with PT and OT trying to help Mom physically. After determining there was nothing they could do to help her, we were introduced to Janet and Robert Surban. After visiting their Beaverton Senior Care Home, we immediately felt that was the place Mom would receive excellent care! An added benefit was Janet is an RN, so medically she was able to help Mom in so many ways, in addition to the love and compassion they gave her the whole time she was there, up until the moment of her passing on December 19, 2022. Thank you, Janet and Robert, for becoming part of our family, opening your home to us whenever we wanted to visit Mom, keeping us posted on concerns or needs, and throwing Mom special Birthday parties, beautiful, Christmas decorations, and a very comfortable environment for Mom to live the last few years of her life with your care, and the excellent care of your staff. I even learned from one of your aides what our mom's favorite song was and she sang it to her all the time, "You Are My Sunshine"! Our mom was put in hospice at the end for such a short time, and she was able to stay in the familiar surroundings where she had been living, and Janet kept us posted as the time drew near, even up to the last few minutes. We appreciated knowing when the time was near, so we could be with Mom hours before to say goodbye. We really love this extended family who loved and cared for Mom, and we wholeheartedly recommend this Beaverton Senior Care Home to anyone looking for a place for their loved one to receive exceptional care!

Janet and Robert were the only facility willing to take my mom as a hospice resident. I will spare you the details, but the challenge was considerable. Their constant care, positive relationship, and food that mom always enjoyed turned her situation around, and she healed remarkably. Essentially, they saved her life, she transitioned out of hospice, and is now in a rehab home that can concentrate daily rehabilitation for her. Mom still stays in touch with staff that she met there. I hear this is not a new story for Janet and Robert - hospice residents simply survive under their careful, thoughtful, and compassionate care. They always welcomed our frequent family visits, managed to a safe number of course. We're very grateful!

My sister and I were blessed to have my mom Judy live here for the last year and a half of her life. From my experience, it is challenging to find a decent care facility these days. Something else that gave me peace of mind was that they had people on staff at night caring for the residents as well. Robert and Janet and their help provided for a peaceful and relaxed stay for my mom for her last days. And the cost was close to half the price of what we were paying before she moved here. I appreciated the consistency of services provided and the care for my mom. Thank you Robert and Janet and staff!
