Our 24 hours staff is some of the best in Portland, they're always available when needed. We are determined to help every senior resident thrive. Markham House meal plans that are prepared with fresh ingredients daily from specially designed menus. We also offer snacks between meal times. Private dining, family style, cookouts, picnics are all available for every style of meal that could be desired. We can accommodate for nearly every type of diet.

I worked at Markham House for 6 months. After leaving, which wasn't for any negative reasons, I worked for 2 other assisted living communities briefly. After observing the other communities, I can say that Markham House is a wonderful place to work and I highly recommend this community for your loved ones to live in. There is far more care and love in this community. Thank you for caring the way you do and keep up the good work!

Mom just moved into Markham house as she needed to shift to assisted living facility. The staff was kind and helpful and patient with mom. We are so grateful that we were able to find a safe place for mom and Markham house is the perfect choice for us.

I work at Markham House as a caregiver and I think it's a great place for everyone involved. The management listens to employees about concerns and suggestions and enacts on them. It's always decorated for any upcoming holidays to add some cheerfulness and there's always events going on for the residents to stay active with.

First time visiting after hearing so much great things. I do want to say the building is under new management from years ago. Things have certainly turned around here. Myself and my mom have been searching for special type of assisted living community. One with a cozy, smaller feel to it. Upon arrival, we were greeted and welcomed by multiple employees. This was a very great feeling to feel welcomed at first. We then met the general manager, as she provided the tour for us. She has a very friendly and great personality. Also provided us with so much information throughout the tour and seems to be very knowledgeable in the industry, which seems hard to find in other places. After we finished, we spoke and just felt welcomed. My mom is looking forward to moving in shortly and we are happy the room she is getting has been remolded and updated. Update- After living here for some time, things have been outstanding and everything we were promised has been provided for us. The 24 hour care and excellent meals are making my mom happy. Also entertainment and activities have been a joy for her!! Thank you!!!

My dad has been at Markham House for 3 months. He was in 4 other placements before this and this is by far the best. The environment is small and very personalized. The leadership is fantastic and all the staff know my dad well, and are familiar and experienced with managing some of his difficult behaviors that comes with his dementia diagnosis. The apartments are spacious and some even offer an outdoor porch area. The food is made to order and fresh tasting. The price is comparable if not more reasonable than many of the other facilities we toured or tried out and is all inclusive, yet there were options for a la carte services like additional housekeeping that has been vey useful to access as needed. My dad was very independent and in-charge for most of his life and the Markham House staff have nurtured his current abilities, while providing support where needed with dignity and respect. Markham house really is at the top of its class!

As an employee of Markham, I have been there for 4 months. I have seen first hand amazing care for the residents and the staff by management. I strive to step up and help wherever a need is being requested. I work with a amazing staff who work very hard at making sure everyone is taken care of. I am not biased because I am an employee, I have watched with keen observations of why people leave and what happens behind closed doors. I see management handle everything with dignity and respect toward everyone. Sometimes it is not what the other party wants to hear and that is what I think is one of the best virtues management can have. They dont walk on glass and they let you know exactly what is going on and the best course of action to correct it that is a win for everyone. If someone doesnt agree, that is their decision. I love every minute I am there and I am grateful to have been chosen to be a part of the staff. I am reducing myself from full-time to part-time as my dream of 25 years has just been presented to me and I am not going to let that opportunity pass. Management is so supportive of my decision that they offered me to stay on call as needed as I love the residents and I love working there. Thank you to everyone at Markham House for welcoming me and inviring me to be a part of this amazing community.
