Reviews Corina Elderly Home #2
April 2026
I have worked in Hospice for almost 8 years and with seeing patients in the homes, Assisted Living & Skilled Nursing Facilities and Board & Care Homes; I have seen it all! Some are amazing and I would never hesitate to place a patient or even a family member and some I will avoid and transfer a patient from a bad setting to literally anywhere else. All of Corina's B&Cs are great in a few ways but overall, I would avoid them if you are seeing placement for a loved one. The Good - Dragos and Mayra are two of the kindest and hard-working caregivers I have ever met. I know when I address an issue with a patient it will be handled with love and care by Dragos & Mayra. The homes are always clean, they smell good, the good is good, the patients are clean and the staff communicates with home health and hospice when needed....we always knew exactly what was happening with our patients. That is a huge deal! The Bad - [name removed] is a loose cannon. She is abrasive and frequently argumentative to speak to and when she speaks over you she does not listen to what the patient needs and has on more than one occasion just gotten into her car and left when I was in the middle of speaking to her about patient care, medications, family concerns or whatever. This is not productive nor in any patient's best interest. Recently I have had a patient on hospice that needed to be "graduated" for extended prognosis, [name removed] became VERY upset when we delivered the news as the patient was bedbound and she lacks the waiver to have the patient. She screamed and yelled at our staff that we were unprofessional, and never going to get a patient from her again. After several months, the patient qualified again for hospice and family chose us because of our history and being familiar with the patient already however, the family wanted their loved one moved to a different B&C. We showed up with medical transport, [name removed] refused for us to take the patient, Elk Grove Police needed to be called, the family did not owe any money, they had given notice, [name removed] was in agreement with the move but it took 4 days of showing up with transport, police needing to be called and Corina refusing to "release" the patient. It was a lot of unnecessary stress, money, police resources, work and even "trauma" to the patient and their family. There are so many B&C homes in the area that always maintain professionalism and that I have never experienced any issues with that you do not need to settle for Corina and risk potential issues with. I suggest when you are seeking care for a loved one, reach out to a local hospice company and ask for guidance. Hospice Social Workers will always be willing to recommend a safe, calm and drama-free place for you that fits your budget.
