My mom moved into Rosewood Board and Care mid-April 2018. I was worried about making a change. Now, I am so thankful that I chose Rosewood Home (assisted living facility) for my mom. Briefly, I will answer what were my standard questions: The English skills of the two main (live-in) caregivers are great and understandable, not only for me, but more importantly; my mom understands and communicates with them. There are daily activities; Bingo, birthdays, Jeopardy television show (7 at 7), music is played during meals which are eaten like a family around a table adjacent to the kitchen. The meals are delicious, most served hot and always made from whole foods, fresh fruit is plentiful and ice cream is available. My mom has religious services every Sunday. There are visiting hours: they are not enforced. If I visit early in the morning before work (I often do) I sometimes find my mom in bed asleep. Great, she should be able to sleep in a bit. When I come at lunchtime, she is always smells clean and is wearing fresh clothes. I never have I found her wearing the same thing she wore to bed, or wore the day before. Her bed linens are always clean and her room smells clean, not antiseptic or yucky. After I get off work, my mom is still clean, happy and I have never felt unwelcome. The house is immaculate, the outdoor grounds beautiful and well kept. The neighborhood is one I wish I lived in. Moderate and very near a lovely elementary school. The neighbors are friendly. Obviously, they like their neighbor residential facility for the elderly. Now for the truly amazing: The same family has run this establishment for decades! The care and love they have for the residents and staff is genuine! We hug like family. We are family. Recently, I attended a party for Fathers Day. The food spread was impressive. More impressive were the other people that I met that day. There were adult children of deceased residents whose parents had passed away ten years ago. They still return to visit. How wonderful! I cannot say I have felt, even for a minute, that I made a mistake with Rosewood. You guys are in my heart and I am a very thankful adult child. My mom suffers memory loss, but she knows how she feels. She is very content and feels the love that abounds from everyone: those who work there, the other residents with whom she lives or the many visitors. Thank you.
