I’m 83 years old and fell resulting in a hip fracture. I did my recovery here at the JEK building and had a wonderful experience. My daughter toured 8 other skilled nursing facilities in the area and she choose JHA for me. We feel so lucky they had a spot for me. The nursing staff is outstanding. I’ve gotten some of the best PT and OT I’ve ever had. The food is delicious and thoughtfully prepared. My family and I were so overwhelmed, worried and caught off guard by my fall. When she found JHA she could relax. They explained everything, we’re very reassuring and supportive. It was just what we all needed. You cannot go wrong choosing this place for your recovery.

My mother lived here starting in independent living in 2014 up until she passed in 2018 at age 95. Each level of care was wonderful. I have zero complaints and we never had a problem. My mom considered this home.

Everything, the facility is clean, full of activities, tried to keep everyone happy and comfortable. Like any other facility the size of this one there will always be conflict. I personally feel that some of the staff should go over there dos and dont ‘s. All in all I wouldnt want to be anywhere else or any of my family to be anywhere but here when the time comes. Every establishment should be fortunate to have a Rabbi Bender and Jerry Wahagheghe to help work here. Ive been blessed to be here and to have these people in my life.

An exceptional place for the elderly across the range of abilities and needs: outstanding professional staff and aides, numerous daily activities and programs, holiday celebrations, and beautiful grounds. We were so happy when our parents were there, and got such wonderful care and made so many friends there.

My dear friend spent some time here after shoulder surgery, Beautiful facilitates clean and the staff is so kind and patient- only negative is parking is difficult you have to park across the street but I would recommend for any of my family or friends

It's about as good as it gets. Not perfect but they do a pretty good job. Some very caring CNAs, excellent rehab and good food. My mother was there for about a month recovering from hip fracture. My only complaint was that they didn't push her enough to get out of bed, but it was a constant battle with her just not having the motivation. They did the therapy and tried to encourage her, but in the end she just wasn't motivated and declined. In all fairness, it is not the facility's fault, that's just how it goes sometimes and why the statistics are not so good for elderly to recover from a broken hip. I DO recommend this place.

I just got home this morning. I was there for two weeks after bi-lateral knee replacement surgery. I got the best care. Could not have asked for anything more. When I got there, I was a blob of a human being. They were so caring and always respected my dignity. They have activities and I even met some nice friends. We ate all meals together played cards and games after dinner. Everyone, no matter what their job is just fantastic. If you have to be in a place like this then this is the place to be.

2 of my 4 grandparents spent their last years at the home, as have many family friends. I couldn't have asked for better care for any of them. My daughter spoke her first full sentence there after attending Shabbos Services with her great grandma. "Good Shabbos. Let's go shopping and out to lunch now." She now has an almost 5 year old ?

I thought Jewish Home (Grancell Village) was the best one my husband had ever been in. We were not Jewish, but it was one of the best. The care there was unbelievable. They had entertainment and they had excellent food. Most of them were regular food, but they were very good. The whole thing was great. You could go outside. They had a beautiful garden area, you could sit on one of the tables, and they had several picnic tables there. They actually had a store for the visitors to be able to buy sandwiches or something for themselves.

As a CNA working these last three years for the LAJH, Gancell Village in the city of Reseda, I have not only grown in my profession n become a better skilled nurse doing God's work on helping my elderly patients n residents but have been blessed with a fine group of co-workers whom I now consider my family. My 78 yr old mom was in rehab at Los Angeles Jewish home for the aging for 3 weeks. It was such a wonderful experience. The facilities were clean and smelled good, the doctors and nurses were very accommodating and listened to all our requests and were very helpful. The PT who was working w my mom was amazing! He was patient and kind and showed us how to help our mom when she came home. Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend this place to everyone! It was great!

When we took my wife to the doctor, she couldnt stand up or walk at all, and they transferred her over to Los Angeles Jewish Home For the Aging for a time to rest up and for occupational and physical therapy: one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The physical therapy was primary walking exercise and in the afternoon occupational, she was doing sitting exercises and moving her arms. They kept the place very clean and well-maintained.
