I want to express gratitude for the caring and supportive staff at Aegis of Granada Hills where mom has lived for several years. They are consistently helpful, caring, interactive with all the residents, remaining patient even when they become agitated. The cookies in the bistro, snacks with games daily, fun entertainment also add to the enjoyment for the residents and their families. Now that Lance has moved on, our family hopes to continue a great relationship with the new manager, and the continuance of our fun routines.

Can't say enough good things about Aegis in Granada Hills. My Dad is in the latter stages of Alzheimer's Disease, and he requires an extremely high level of care. Prior to Aegis, he's been a resident in two other care communities. While they were adequate, our family never had the peace-of-mind that he's getting proper and thorough care until now. The community is always clean, the food is exceptional, the activities are abundant, and the staff is fantastic across the board. The price is a little high, but you get what you pay for. I and the rest of our family highly recommend Aegis Living Granada Hills.

My mom has Alzheimer’s and we moved her into Aegis in 2019, after a very difficult few years at home. At the time my mom was extremely agitated and we feared for her safety. We were worried about how she would adjust, and also whether she would be too “difficult” for the staff. But the entire management and staff put our family at ease (from our first phone call) with their understanding, compassion, and skill. Three years later, the same is still true. The management and staff are friendly, caring, and skilled. The facility is beautiful and clean. The activities staff go above and beyond with activities to keep the residents engaged. The pandemic crisis was handled professionally and deftly, with regular communication from management. I always know that she is being well cared for and that she is safe, and for that I am deeply grateful.

Aegis has been taking great care of my father. Brittany was very patient with us while we made the transition from home to assisted living. I love how everyone on staff including house keeping, kitchen, nursing, activities, med techs, caregiving, concierge, maintenance and management are professional, courteous and friendly. Everyone works very hard and with love. While living at home my dad struggled with dehydration. At Aegis, he's remained hydrated!On a side note, I was concerned and asked about emergency protocol and preparedness for fire and earthquake and all their ducks are in a row.I'm grateful for the care Aegis is giving my dad.

I got my mother in here right before Easter. There are more expensive places out there, but not better ones. I checked out so many places before choosing Aegis. Too many other places felt like the hotel from the Shinning. Aegis felt like a home to me. It is a place that I would feel comfortable going to when the time comes for me. The staff does a decent job of keeping me informed of what is going on with my mother. I find more people I know have of had loved one here. At time goes on I wish I had gotten my mother here sooner.

My family and I are so grateful to have found Aegis of Granada Hills, CA, for my mom. The care is excellent and attentive. This facility did an amazing job of keeping the residents safe during COVID, and also did their best to keep them engaged and happy. There is no way that I can adequately thank Lance Shenk and his entire team at Aegis for the work they are doing. As the sign outside the building says, Heroes Work Here. Thank you, Aegis.

I had to put my mother in an assisted living about two years ago because of dementia. I dreaded the decision. The first place I took her looked good on the outside but behind the doors of the memory area, in particular, was very depressing. We put her on the list for Aegis and as soon as a room opened we got her in. I have never regretted it. When you first walk in it smells good, staff and residents are happy music is playing. My mother is clean, well taken care of and comfortable. They have all sorts of activities from bingo, painting, happy hour, live music, High Tea and even events during the holidays for family and friends. They have Root Beer Float Socials, celebrate birthdays, sing alongs. Each month Aegis decorates the whole building from Christmas tress to Halloween pumpkins. They have a small "scenic" drive twice a week that gets my mother and others out to see the world. They even have a small "bistro" with coffee, tea, fresh pastries and the days newspapers. When I visit I take my mom to the bistro area to visit and have coffee. They have a hair salon that does my mothers hair and nails. A movie theater with fresh popcorn. There is so much more. If she has a medical appointment they take her. The dining room is like a restaurant and also a private dinning room for family events which they cater to. In the memory section they also have staff that takes care of personal needs and alerts me if anything is needed. I would truly recommend Aegis as home for your loved ones if needed. I find myself visiting more just to see the events and the calm environment. Thank you Aegis for always coming up with some new ideas and the feeling of home.

I give thanks every day that my Mother is being cared for in the memory care department at Aegis. We are so grateful for the care, the attention to detail, the homey and clean and stylish environment and the friendliness of all the staff. You truly feel they sincerely care and want to meet all your parents needs and mine. They are on top of the latest techiniques in helping residents that have the varying forms of dementia and/or health problems. They know their stuff and I have total confidence that my Mother will never ever be neglected. The facility is beautiful, light and airy with beautiful grounds and lots of stimulation with activities and events on every level for the residents. I learned in researching facilities for my mother that that distinct foul odor that you sometimes smell when visiting a nursing home or memory or assisted living facility is not normal and a big warning sign avoid putting your parent there. It ignals that there is a lack of cleaniness which causes bacteria and the smell. Unless one of the residents has had an accident you will never find that smell at Aegis. I highly recommend checking out Aegis of Granada Hills and placing your loved one there.

The staff over there were very friendly and caring. They made us fresh cookies and they also cared for me when I wasn't feeling to good all the sudden yesterday. The nurses there were top notch at what they do. They take their jobs very serious and to make sure the people are okay before they go on doing their rounds again. The place is very spotless and no dust to be found anywhere. It was very very clean and I would be more than happy to live there when I get older
