I toured this community and was very happy with the warm greeting from the time I walked in the door. Residents were having lunch, and were complimentary of the food which is important to me because my dad is loosing weight. The Activity Calendar was full of things for the clients to do, and the building was clean and fresh. The rooms are large and spacious compared to most I have looked at, and the rates seemed good for all the services they told me of.

My friend moved into Lamplight. It's very nice, in a wooded area, and easy to get to. He has a private room that's a nice size with a little kitchen area with a microwave. They provide cable TV, have a lot of activities, and take them out to places. They have transportation for doctors' appointments and group trips. However, the food is not good, and the place could use some repainting.

My husband moved in to Lamplight of Baltimore. The food could be better. They had hotdogs and ravioli, and I had my husband's food myself, and some things are not too good. The place is not bad, and you bring your own furniture to make them feel more at home. They try to get the floors cleaned up better, so it's OK. It is what it is right now. The food and menus could be better -- maybe have a dietician to plan the meals. The meals could be a lot better.

I like the agenda at Lamplight of Baltimore, and I like that it was individual living spaces, but I think it was overpopulated. The staff was good and friendly. The rooms were fine.

The tour at Lamplight Inn was very good. They showed me the facility and the activities, and it’s a nice place to go. But he is not going to like the fact that it’s dominantly woman; the gentleman I spoke with said that they don’t allow men in that kind of care. Other than that, I couldn’t find any negative about it. It’s clean, well organized, and nice facility. The rooms are clean, nice size, and have features in them. The food looks fine as we went past the dining room, and we saw people eating. I don’t see anybody complaining. That’s where I would consider my husband going. The recreation was nice; they had a number of things to do and activities for the people. It was pretty well done.

We went to Lamplight Inn. It was a very nice, well-kept, reasonably priced facility. The gentleman who helped us out was very nice too. The only problem for this particular elderly couple is that it would be a little bit out of the way for them. The atmosphere was nice. They were very friendly.

Lamplight has a very pleasant, clean, and neat environment. Their rooms were a nice size. The director was very accommodating and answered all of my questions. They were in a nice location around a lot of businesses and two schools around the campus. They also had volunteers come in with activities for the residents. The landscaping was pretty, but it was a small place.

We went to Lamplight Inn of Baltimore. We really like them. They’re actually on the top of our list. The staff was fantastic and the administrator was wonderful. There were really friendly people there. They’re willing to work with you, very knowledgeable, and willing to offer assistance and outside help with financial planning and what-not. Overall, it was a very nice, very spacious place. They offered a one-bedroom setting. The dining room was very well done. They had some upgrades being done to the place and that was actually nice. The setting around it was very nice too.

I chose Lamplight Inn for my sister because of the size. They run about 120 units and predominantly assisted living. They have three different types of unit that you can get. It was reasonably price that included three meals a day, snacks and nurse on duty. All the staff that I met has been really courteous and friendly. They have a policy for example if you are not going to come down for a meal you have to let them know ahead of time or if they don’t come down somebody comes up to find out if anything is wrong. They have a wide range of activities, like chair exercises, lectures and current events, arts and crafts, as well as bible study. They have on-site physical therapy or someone comes in to help. They also provide transportation to doctor’s appointments on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The smallest unit is a studio with a kitchenette, refrigerator, and sink. Each has its own private bath. It’s very nicely decorated throughout the entire building. They have books and tables out in the hall and sitting areas where you can talk to anybody and meet other people. They have a place where they had a large screen TV. Although they need to work on the kitchen, they have good food.
