My grandmother (Thelma) was cared for at this facility until she passed away in January 2011. I was conservator of her estate since 2002 and therefore responsible for all of her care and financial arrangements. I had placed my grandmother in one of the larger assisted living facilities (Sunrise) which was very expensive but I thought that she would receive superior care because of the high cost. Thelma had early stages of Dementia which got progressively worse each year and she also was lactose intolerant. She therefore required special attention on a daily basis which she was not receiving. I then went on a search for a smaller facility with the home type environment where I hoped the necessary care for my grandmother would be rendered. After weeks of searching and numerous visits to assisted living facilities, we found Koss Residential Care. From my first visit, I knew that this was the place for my grandmother. They exhibited such a loving, warm environment and gave me a choice of 2 different homes which were across the street from each other. Florica, Danny and Elizabeth built a beautiful relationship with Thelma and I knew that this would be her final home. I felt comfortable leaving her there and knew that she would get the best possible quality of life for her last years on this earth. Florica took care of all the essentials........bathing, incontinent care, special diet, dispensing of medication and even took her for doctor appointments. The home is always clean and my family was always welcomed with open arms whenever we came to visit Thelma. I was just relieved knowing my grandmother was happy in her last days and well cared for. I would highly recommend either of Koss's homes for the care of your loved one with the assurance that they will receive excellent , loving care. They are a cut above any of the larger assisted living facilities at a fraction of the cost.
