My Uncle has been here for 4/5 months now. He has wounds on both feet. Panchertta, his wound care nurse is very helpful and keeps me updated with his progress. She is very approachable and willing to address all of my concerns. The staff here is great here. From Angie in the business office to Danah in admissions, they are all wonderful and helpful.

Staff is always pleasant and helpful when I come to visit my family there. Carla, CNA serving breakfast trays was especially cheerful and upbeat when interacting with the patients. Appreciate her hard work & spirit!

When my mother's hospital doctor called me and recommended that Mom go to rehab before she came home, I called Decatur Center for Nursing and Healing, I knew that's where I wanted her to be. My dad was at this facility back in 2019 and received excellent care. I have lived in DeKalb County for over 40 years and I know there are some really terrible rehab facilities and a limited number of good ones. Over the years, I have known many people who received care or had loved ones cared for at Decatur Center and also visited friends receiving care there and I never heard any complaints. The staff at Decatur Center is outstanding and focused on patient care. Mom was admitted to a room where her room and her roommate were too cold. We had just arrived and I didn't want to complain but I told Nurse Riddick that Mom can't stand cold and, within minutes, members of the nursing team moved Mom to a room across the hall where Mom was much more comfortable. That was just the start of the excellent nursing care my Mom received. I've visited nursing facilities where staff walk past residents as if they're not even there. This is NOT that type of facility. All the nursing and therapy staff are facility employees no outside contractors who show up for a day or two to fill in. Staff here know their residents and engage with them. Press the nurse call button and someone comes to see how they can help. My Mom was at Decatur Center for 17 days and in that short time, I knew many of her nursing care team members by name: Victoria, Jeremiah, Sylvia (who cared for Mom when Mom was at her worst), Kari, April, Seble, Gail, Karen, Mariama, and Claudine. There were others who cared for Mom and I neglected to get their names but I am most grateful to everyone who got my Mom well. The therapy team who worked with Mom were outstanding. Mom was transferred to Decatur Center by ambulance because she could barely walk on her own and less than three weeks later, Mom got in my car and I drove her home. The therapy department director is Vaani, she has worked at this facility for 27 years and always made herself available whenever I had questions or wanted to discuss Mom's progress. Mom received great physical, occupational and speech therapy from Michelle, Clifton and Katherine. They were always patient and encouraging, even when my Mom was not the most cooperative patient. There were so many other employees at Decatur Center who helped make Mom's stay a positive experience and helped me as well: Ms. Reed sat down with Mom and me and talked about all the activities available and asked about Mom's interests. Priscilla is the Admissions Director and was extremely helpful. She is a wonderfully warm and caring person who was always willing to chat when she could tell I needed a break Dinesha in Social Services met with Mom and me to discuss Mom's care plan, answered all my questions, and followed up to make sure everything was proceeding as planned. Kizzy kept my Mom's room clean and always had a kind word of encouragement for her and talked with Mom every time she saw her. Kareem is on the building maintenance team and stopped by Mom's room every day he worked just to say hi to us and ask how Mom was doing. Betsy Hill is the Administrator and has been there for 26 years, through numerous changes in building ownership, which is exceptionally rare in this industry. If you have an issue or concern, her door is always open to help. I also want to mention that the food here is very good and arrives in the room at the appropriate temperature no cold spaghetti or stale bread here. I ate lunch and dinner with Mom every day and always tried her food. I was very impressed by the quality, quantity and variety of food served. Mom almost always finished everything she was served and even ate some dishes I know she's never eaten in her 89 years and she enjoyed them. If you have a loved one needing rehab and don't want them warehoused in a facility that only sees them as revenue, call and schedule a tour, the staff are proud to show you around.
