How to Avoid Bad Senior Living Communities
You want to make sure you’re avoiding bad communities. The best way to do that is to read reviews, plan ahead, and work with a trusted organization to find the best senior living option. By doing that, you can help protect yourself and your loved one, and find a facility that’s safe, good quality, and enjoyable.
Ranking The Best Senior Living Facilities in Arkansas
To get our rankings of Arkansas senior living communities, we looked at several factors. These included the online reviews and ratings for each facility, along with any state violations these facilities have had in the past, and any current violations or disciplinary action they’re facing. The affordability of the facility was also taken into consideration. Combining all of those areas helps make it easier to decide on the facility that’s going to provide the highest level of quality and value for you or your loved one.
In Arkansas, the average monthly costs for assisted living are around $3,760. That’s less expensive than a home health aide, which will typically cost around $4,195. A full-service nursing home is the most expensive option, coming in at $6,692 for a private room. The type of facility you choose may be somewhat dependent on cost, but that shouldn’t be the only factor. Understanding which options are the best for you or your loved one is the most important issue, so you can make a good decision for the future.

What residents and loved ones have to say about The Manor Senior Living Community of Benton:
Mom has lived at the Manor for 2 years now – I can honestly give it a 4 star review. From what I have seen, everyone from the Concierge who welcomes you to the Head Nurse to the Nurses to the Aides to the kitchen staff – all put in 100% from the heart to treat the residents as if they were their own family. I have heard several staff tell me the reason they do this kind of work is because they had a loved one who needed care. They know that it is heart that makes the difference. Also the residents – be they cottage dweller or apartment, are very friendly and kind to one another. There is even a Memory Care Support Group which is evidence that this facility really does care about both residents and their family.

What residents and loved ones have to say about Grand Brook Memory Care Rogers at Pinnacle Hills:
My father has been at Grand Brook memory care for over 2 1/2 years. All of the staff are wonderful, caring individuals and enjoy working with the residents. It’s always clean, smells nice, and the meals and snacks are wonderful. The staff have become part of our family over the past couple of years. They notify you of any changes or concerns. They decorate for every holiday (just beautifully done), have activities and sing songs. It’s my dad’s home now and he loves it there. Choosing Grand Brook for Dad’s home was the best decision! Moving someone out of your family home to a care facility is so difficult but the staff and nurses at GB are so supportive and caring. If you want the best memory care then Grand Brook is it!

What residents and loved ones have to say about West Shores:
My in-laws moved here September 2023. I love their apartment on the garden level. They have a great view of the manicured lawns and get to see the wildlife, deer, squirrels and rabbits often. This floor offers bingo, exercise and chapel which is super convenient for my mother in law using a walker. They have 3 meals a day which they say is usually pretty good and they have no complaints. They were paired with another couple to dine with being new and that has made for good conversation at meal time. I’m grateful we found this place with the excellent nursing staff and aides. We visit our family often and all the time the place is clean and staff welcomes us with smiles. Also convenient to doctors, hospitals and shopping. We recommend anyone looking for assisted living services to check West Shores out.

What residents and loved ones have to say about Country Club Village Retirement Community:
Vicky was beyond supportive in helping me move here. I was totally stressed as I was moving from a less than desirable situation. I asked a thousand questions and she patiently and thoroughly answered all of them. I finally came to the conclusion that this was a really good place to live as I have discovered everything Vicky told me was true. The staff are sweet and kind. The food is great and so convenient to just go pick up. I have a small fenced in yard for my little dog. It’s peaceful and quiet. As my ambassador told me, you can be as busy or not as you want to be. I have only been here a few months, so I haven’t had a chance to check out the numerous activities yet, which I am looking forward to in the future. It is such a pleasure to not have to worry about maintenance or repairs. Country Club Village is giving me the opportunity to actually enjoy retirement.

What residents and loved ones have to say about Willowbend Healthcare & Rehabilitation – Marion, AR:
My father was at Willowbend in 2018 with advanced dementia including the need for supervised feedings and general daily care while being confined to a wheelchair. He received excellent care by all departments and personnel. He always had the biggest smile on his face because of all the attention he received from the medical staff and even from the director and marketing staff. He introduced one staff members “as his girlfriend” on one occasion. He was near the end of life and required a lot of supervision which I am pleased to say he got at Willowbend. He was moved to an in-facility hospice house about a week before he died. Those caregivers bragged about the quality and integrity of his skin for being a bed ridden patient. They asked where he had previously been cared for because they were impressed with his obvious care. Making a decision to move a loved one to a nursing facility is difficult, but I highly recommend Willowbend Healthcare in Marion, Arkansas. It felt like home to us!
