Fun Ways to Bond with Loved Ones in Senior Living
Having fun activities with your loved one when they stay in senior living helps to form family bonding moments. Consider listening to music or going over photo albums to reminisce about memories. Ranking the Best West Virginia Senior Living Facilities
Are you wondering how we came to our rankings for the top senior living facilities in West Virginia. We performed a wide search of the Internet to gather reviews and ratings of the facility to create a comparison list. We also checked whether the facility had any state violations or complaints as well as evaluated the affordability of the senior living facility.
While services and amenities are important when deciding on a senior living facility, affordability may have a deciding factor on which facility you may select. You want to ensure that you or your loved one can live them comfortably without having any services interrupted due to experiencing financial hardships. The average monthly cost of an assisted living facility in West Virginia is $4,160. This price includes housing, meals, basic care services and other amenities depending on the specific facility. These prices are higher than in-home care where you only pay for specialized care. Meanwhile, assisted living facility prices are lower than nursing home prices where you would obtain a higher degree of services and care.

What residents and loved ones have to say about Harmony at Martinsburg:
We put our mother (who has dementia) in Harmony Martinsburg for one months respite care earlier this year. Mom loved it! The front office, medical, and care-giving staff were all wonderful, helpful, patient, and polite. They cared for her very well and the daily activities really stimulated her so much that she came home a happier person. My mother is a retired chef and she loved the food that is saying a lot! The design of the facility is thoughtful and beneficial to the residents. Hallways and social spaces are located and designed strategically for constant staff observation of the residents. This allowed mom to have her independence and we were relieved that she would be well cared for and mom thought she was in a fancy, wonderful hotel with a great restaurant!

What residents and loved ones have to say about Sweet Briar:
My father lived here for 3 1/2 years before his passing recently. He loved the staff and enjoyed the friendship of many residents here. I often couldn’t find him, because he was active with the community events or volunteering with the FB Sheriffs dept. he also loved the food!! He was the campus food services director for Indiana University for 35 years and a Lieutenant Col in the Army. He had high standards, so if you are considering this community for yourself or a loved one you can’t do any better then Silvergate!!

What residents and loved ones have to say about Harmony at Southridge:
My mother has been a resident at Harmony Square for four months and has adapted as well as can be expected. The office staff and Harmony Square staff have been very helpful to her with the changes in her life. She is kept busy with activities, crafts, exercise, as well as time to reminisce. We, as a family feel welcome to visit at any time. As with anything, nothing is perfect, but when made aware of any issues the Harmony staff tries to react as soon as they can. I feel comfortable with my mother being a resident at Harmony at Southridge.
