February 2022
After looking at several AFHs for my brother who needed end of life care, we came upon Shalako. We visited twice, with very positive impressions. The home is in a nice, quiet neighborhood with sidewalks and plenty of parking. The private rooms are good sized, have their own bathrooms, and large windows with views of a pretty yard. The place was extremely clean and the current residents seemed happy and relaxed. We liked the primary care giver, TG, and her husband very much. More important, my brother liked them and the homey atmosphere. His hospice team liked TG’s qualifications, and the charge was reasonable for the level of care he required. They really seem to have a heart for this kind of nursing. Sadly, my brother passed the day before he was to move in, so I cannot review his care there. However, based upon what I have observed at other AFHs, I would definitely encourage potential clients to check Shalako out.
