My 96-year-old mother has lived in several senior communities over the past 15 years, and this is the best! When she decided to move from southern California to Seattle to be close to us, we checked out a number of communities and were really impressed by Merrill Gardens at the University. Leslie, Michael, Charlyn, and Cheyenne were so helpful with the arrangements and Mom moved in about a month ago. She loves it so far! The staff and residents are so kind and friendly, they've made the transition as smooth as possible. Khandez, Lori, and Denise on the front desk and the rest of the staff are always so welcoming, and when she wasn't feeling well, the wellness staff was right there to help. She already feels at home and has made several friends. She loves the food, her apartment, her view of the courtyard, and the activities. We're so happy we found Merrill Gardens at the University!

I can't say enough good things about Merrill Gardens at The University. From the kind and compassionate staff, the welcoming residents, the friendly, safe environment and the extensive programming, I couldn't have found a better home for my mother. She is treated with genuine care by all staff members who continually go above and beyond our expectations. My mother's day routinely includes fun events, learning opportunities, physical exercise and a myriad of other opportunities at her fingertips. We are both grateful to be a part of such a loving and outstanding community.

I have been a resident at Merrill Gardens at the University for 5 years. Recently I was asked to be a guest with a newcomer for the NEW RESIDENT'S WELCOME DINNER. This was the nicest activity I have been invited to in a very long time. EVERYTHING was perfect and well planned and organized, down to the table settings, menu, small favors, flowers in the middle of the table, wine and amazing conversation. The credit goes to our Activity Department ( for which there is not enough praise for what they do!) and tg=he two women who are the chairs for the Welcoming Committee. This evening was enough to make all newcomers feel very welcome, and as an "old comer", I felt more welcome than ever. I would give this activity 110++++++++stars! Thank you!

The experience we had with my stepdad at Merrill Gardens was terrific. The social entertainment, movies, field trips and camaraderie meant so much to him. Their staff is warm, friendly and very attentive. It was a perfect choice!

My mother, Rose, was a memory care resident at a Merrill Gardens location for about 17 months. The monthly cost for her to live there was indeed a good value when compared to alternative assisted living facilities in the region. The premises was beautiful and immaculate and she was fortunate to have been the first resident ever to occupy her apartment. During her stay, she was looked after by many dedicated staff, several of which were angels who approached their duties with extraordinary caring and effort. That said, working with and caring for people with dementia presents its own challenges that really require professional medical assessment and treatment beyond the scope of any assisted living facility. So, my takeaways from the perspective of hindsight include the need for getting a thorough diagnosis from a neurologist prior to taking residency and deferring to the medical providers contracted with Merrill Gardens (or any assisted living facility for that matter). Even with this caveat, day to day caretaking and service provision in all probability exceeded what other assisted living facilities were offering, providing. As far as my experience with the local management of the Merrill Gardens where my mother was at, Id rate the lower level supervisors, managers as exceptional whilst the general manager of the facility was more in the ballpark of borderline adequate overall insofar as the memory care unit was concerned, in my opinion. Notwithstanding my less than ideal rating of the general manager, Id be remiss to not say that Tana Gall, President of Merrill Gardens, whom I had occasion to speak with, was everything one could hope for as a leader of a company providing residential services to the senior population.

Im a float caregiver for an agency. I work in a variety of Senior living. Merrill gardens has the most beautiful facility. Organized wellness center (caregiving policys and protocol). The staff all the way from janitorial, kitchen, caregivers and front management is outstanding!They have a set standard...and I believe they exceed it! Wonderful residents also...all the way around it is a wonderful place!

Stopped in awhile back...looking for a place for my uncle. Had seen a few others and really wanted the right fit for him....after meeting the welcoming staff I felt as ease with the care they would provide. He has now been there for several years and is very happy. I would also like to add he really likes the dining area. Thank you merill gardens.

Early in 2020 my husband and I visited Merrill Gardens to see if we would be interested in moving in in a couple of years. We were treated to an excellent meal personally served by the head chef along with a tour of the facility. I was very impressed with the apartments, the outdoor patio area, the dining area, and the personable and knowledgable folks in marketing who gave us the tour. All in all it was a very positive experience. We are seriously rethinking our plans and may decide to move into Merrill Gardens sooner!

My Mother moved into Merrill Gardens (champions gate) in the fall. We are all so happy with everything. Basically my Mother lives in an upscale resort. The staff is more like family to us not just staff. I highly recommend Merrill Gardens. Its a dream and blessing.

I moved into Merrill Gardens with my husband and brought my little dog to be with him and help take care of him. Everyone was so nice to us and always there when I needed them. He was happy there which was so important and I would recommend Merrill Gardens in Renton to anyone because not only everyone was friendly, always knew our name and made us feel welcome staying there.
