I feel so incredibly fortunate to have found Garden Courte Memory Care for my wife, Judy. She is happy in her own new world. Although she recognizes me by face and smiles, she also usually greets her caregivers with a smile too. The caregiver are her family now and I feel very comfortable with them and Judy's new surroundings. I visit nearly every day so I feel I have a pretty good idea of the care my wife receives. The accommodations are very nice and there are activities for all the residents, based on their cognitive abilities and interests. I have developed a warm relationship with staff and caregivers as well as some of the families that also visit their loved ones. It's a family.

I am incredibly grateful to Eldercare Consulting and Guidance Services (based in Olympia) for assessing my mother, meeting with our family, and allowing Mom to choose Garden Courte as her "last home." She was happy to be able to bring her bedroom furnishings when she moved into the North Side over a year ago. She loved joining the many activities, concerts, movies, and celebrations each day. When she eventually required a higher level of care, she relocated to the South Side. It means the world to see how well she is being cared for by some of the kindest, most committed caregivers I have ever encountered. The tears I have shed since my mother moved to Garden Courte have been the kind that surface when your heart is full of love and gratitude. Thanks to everyone at GCMC. It takes a village and I'm thankful for each and every one of you.

My Dad was a resident at Garden Courte. Our family researched area memory care offerings extensively. What I appreciated most about Garden Courte is the effort made to create a warm and homey environment for residents, filled with daily events and social engagement activities. Social engagement is incredibly important for someone suffering from memory loss. It can represent the difference between feeling like your loved one has been placed in a sterile and detached nursing home style of facility, or something closer to like being at home. Visit Garden Courte, and you will see what I mean. It's warm, and inviting, and engaged. The gradual loss of a loved one to dementia is a cruel, painful, heart wrenching, and emotion-charged time for a family. No memory care facility is going to feel "perfect" during such a difficult time. Every resident's needs are unique and constantly shifting, and everyone is human and doing their best. There are going to be good and bad days. The staff at Garden Courte were special, and I will forever be grateful for the care and compassion we experienced there.

Thank you, again! Gretchen RahnGretchen Rahn1 review7 months ago My husband’s dementia required we find a safe and secure memory care environment for him. Of those we evaluated in Olympia, only the people at Garden Courte took the time to understand his situation and the needs of our entire family. With this background, an individual care plan was designed for him. The goal was for my husband to comfortably live out the rest of his days there. Initially he spent 2-3 days a week in their daycare program adjusting to the Garden Courte experience. While he was there I received some much needed respite. When the time came, he easily moved in becoming a full time resident. At Garden Courte my husband thrived and was much more active than he would have been at home. It is an environment specifically designed to meet the needs of people with dementia. Garden Courte provides many activities for its residents. These include excursions, music programs, scenic drives, holiday events and a wide variety of crafts. Family members are always welcomed to join the activities. Through his participation my husband made a great many friends of both residents and staff. He was a well loved member of the community.Everything wasn’t always perfect at Garden Courte. But whenever there was a problem I was able get together with the staff, determine the cause and find the best solution possible. The last six years of my husband’s life were spent at Garden Courte in their safe secure environment. He was happy and content and constantly received great care and kindness This was especially important during his final days. The most unexpected benefit of our Garden Courte Memory Care experience was that while they were taking care of my husband’s basic needs that allowed him and I the freedom to be a loving caring couple once again. A true blessing.

We just moved my grandma in last weekend and so far it has been a living nightmare. We brought my grandma to my house for the holiday and we told multiple people including the med techs to have her meds ready. We call the day of pick up and no one passed along the message to get her medication ready. We pick grandma up and head home, come to find out we only received 1/3 of her medications and that all of her congestive heart failure medications where missing. Call the facility and they say they will look into it. We call grandmas old facility and old pharmacy and find out that her medication was delivered there and the pharmacy said they would fill her medication to the end of the month. I drove all the way from puyallup to Chehalis and then Olympia to get my grandmas pain medication. Get to garden courte and they gave me 5 pain meds that she takes three times a day and say that will last for five days. Im beyond disappointed in garden courte and wish I could move her already. I will be filling a report on the facility and seeing what our options are. There is a really nice caregiver we met named Kelly but besides that it's been hell.

The Garden Courte staff has helped my sister make the transition so beautifully. The staff's encouragement, dedication to fun activities that have catered to her interests and support over the past nine months have helped my sister thrive and adjust. I love to see her smiling in the Sagely emails that update me on her daily activities 7 days a week. A recent visit showed me how engaged she is with others and her willingness to be involved. It takes a village and I am so grateful for Garden Courte!

The Wires & Wood duo brings live country music to Garden Courte on a regular basis. This is a favorite place for us to play music because of the positive and caring atmosphere among staff and residents. The community is exceptional; residents are engaged and happy. We love playing our music here as much as we love the residents. Ursula and the entire staff are to be commended.

Don and I want to say a heartfelt Thank You to everyone who work at Garden Courte each and every day. Dr. Ward, the administrative staff, activities director, nurses, nurses aides and everyone behind the scene who are to numerous to mention. Our Mom (Mother-in-Law) Jackie was a lovely compassionate lady who enjoyed her life at Garden Courte. Jackie was not shy about complementing the staff to us. To the staff of Garden Courte, you go to work daily, not just to do a job, you are all dedicated people who care, love and respect everyone in your care. During the last weeks of Moms life, your staff went above and beyond to support our family as well as being there for Jackie in her final days and hours, we can never thank you enough.Don Sarah Forbes

My Wife spent the last two years as a Resident at the Garden Courte Memory Care facility in Olympia, Washington. All the Garden Courte Staff Members provided her the best care possible to support her on her Dementia related journey. This includes the Caregivers, LPN's, Medical, Vibrant Life, Dietary Preparation, Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance and the entire Management Team. Everyone performed their duties in an effective, coordinated and outstanding manner. I was blessed to be lead to Garden Courte during my review, evaluation and selection of the Memory Care facility that would best meet my wife's needs as she continued on her Dementia journey. Garden Courte became her new home with a new and loving extended family who were there for her each day to support her needs. That unconditional support for my Wife was also extended to me ... her Husband. They also helped me through many difficult times over the last two years.

Garden Courte is beyond our expectations, the entire staff are fantastic! The level of professionalism and "caring shown to all the residents" is awesome. We receive daily updates of activities that Mom attends, which are many and varied. There aren't enough word's describe how pleased we are with Garden Courte.

This is a wonderful memory care facility. My grandma had a super rapid decline (from living in her home to in this facility in two weeks) and Garden Court was super helpful in transitioning her to the memory care lifestyle. After a full day visiting my grandma at the hospital and talking to the social worker, it was determined that only two places would consider taking my grandmother, who was incontinent, wheelchair bound and showing signs of severe dementia (and was diagnosed with terminal cancer). Garden Court was the first recommendation and across the street from the hospital, so my family and I decided to stop by after the hospital visit (and after business hours) to just check out the place and see if we could make an appointment to talk to them. To our surprise, we were able to meet with the admissions people and get a tour of the facility and they got the ball rolling on possibly getting my grandmother transitioned that night. They were very upfront on the scope of care they provided, who thrived in their facility, and how they determined the level of care. They were able to determine the proper amount of care for my grandmother and admit her when almost no one else would and my family is very grateful for that. Now, my grandmother has been at the facility for about two weeks and she is getting the around the clock care she needs and has many social opportunities and activities that she never had while living at home. The staff is very attentive and they all seem to really care about the residents here. I highly recommend this place for anyone who needs to place their loved one in memory care. PS In response to DL Reeves' review: they do like their residents to be on proper medication so that they have the best quality of life and especially if they exhibit behaviors that are dangerous to the staff or other patients.

To the entire staff at Garden Courte, I want to express how impressed I am at the total Team effort in the day to day operation of Garden Courte. As a spouse of an Alzheimers resident, the staff always makes me feel welcome and lets me still contribute to my husband's care, which makes me feel good. Thanks so much for all you do for "us".
