I'm writing this candid review for myself, this is my positive experience for my approx 20 days at Highland Meadows. I was able to monitor the services myself and make sure doctors orders were being followed. There was one incident where the call nurse button was delayed. And not all the LVN nurses were familiar with changing my medical appliances. My daughter picked this facility. She said she went to some other facilities and turned around immediately upon walking in the door. She said she was very happy with her tour from Highland Meadows and how well this place is run and the sunny atmosphere. I did not have any idea what kind of care to expect. The first thing I noticed was Highland Meadows does not smell like a nursing home. And it doesn't have the vibes of a nursing facility. I had a lovely room that looked on to a beautiful fountain in the middle of a well kept courtyard. The maintenance staff kept the fountain clean. Everything was allways being cleaned! Amazing Doctors: Dr Bui and His Assistant Janet Rodriguez are kind, gentle, and personable, with unsurpassed bedside manner. They read my case, understood my medication needs, did a thorough history and with the greatest level of care made their physician's orders. They visited me almost every single day and ensured I was staying out of pain and that the medications were effective. There were only two days that they did not check on me personally. Competent Staff: The entire Highland Meadows staff worked hard to make sure my special needs were met. Their diligence made the difference between healing and recovery or remaining sick. The nursing staff is knowledgeable and conscientious. Every single nurse that directly cared for me was as kind, gentle, and understanding as a patient could ever hope for. I asked one nurse if they all went to the same "nice" school. It is obvious that the administration here chooses and expects their nursing staff to be the best, most gracious, and attentive nurses patients will ever experience in a nursing facility. They have special nurses attending to different needs, such as a wound care nurse. There are so many caretakers. The housekeeping staff comes in every single day and cleans the room, the floor, the bathroom, the surfaces, and each staff was kind, happy and thorough. The kitchen staff are all so polite, helpful and patient. The therapies, Speech, OT, PT all fabulous, with my best interest at heart and always getting my feedback as to how I was feeling and holding up. There is a huge well equipped workout gym. I had one PT who was filling in on the weekend, say to me, "I work full time in another facility and part time in several others, but no place even comes close to being as good as this place." The personal staff needs their own praise. Sometimes their job can be somewhat unpleasant, and the Highland Meadows personal care staff deserves their own medal. Never was there anything but heartfelt pleasantness, and assurance and sincere kindness. I think I was most impressed with the healing services this staff provided me at a rather low point in my life. Everyone here brought a smile to my heart and a lift to my spirit and healing to my body. Kay was the most gracious and compassionate RN and who I will never forget. Jennifer the CNA always had a smile and performed her critical tasks with care and compassion. Each person that interacted with me, I want to say thank you for your healing touch. Mikki Qaddoumi

We found Highland Meadows and we looked no further! My mom has been there since July 2022. They take good care of their patients, they have quality Therapists there that my mom just adores. Which sure does help in her rehab! She broke her hip in May and the places were so terrible in Missouri we brought her here to Texas! I am very pleased with this facility and would absolutely recommend this place! She has other issues and will be here long term!

My my mother stayed two years ago. Incredible caring staff, doctors checking on her several times a week, family could come 24 hours stay overnight in her room, I even brought my grand children to stay overnight. Today we are faced again with a need for physical therapy for my mom and this is where we want to her to be.

I am so glad that my daughter was good friends with one of the social workers Nicola. If it's rehab your after what a team they have, when you walk in the door the owner is usually sitting in her office I guess because it's a privately owned facility.

I do hope none of you reading this review will need to have a Rehabilialtion situation but if you do I will recommend Highland Meadows beyond all others. I have been in rehab prior to this visit but the comparison is non existent. Highland Meadows is a complete system from the directors and Doctors to the house keeping staff. My rehab was amazing and what I learned from the therapist staff is above and beyond.The therapist that have worked with me are the ladies and gentlemen that have returned me to a confident active senior. Not only is my body working well but my state of mind is positive and looking to many more years of activity. Thank you Highland Meadows from the bottom of my heart Barbara Ann White Ray 08-22-2022

My mother in law was at Highland Meadows for 3 weeks for rehabilitation after a fall. Overall it was a great place. The nurses took good care of her. We saw the doctor weekly and he was very responsive to phone calls. The best part of Highland Meadows was the therapy group, lead by their director John. They were extremely helpful and patient. They got to know my mother in law personally and discussed her goals not only with her but with us as a family. Their daily PT and OT provided her with what she needed to go home quickly. John made sure that we knew he was available anytime and kept us informed.

I cannot say enough good things about this place . My father who turned 95 when he was first admitted after having Covid. I want to add that before entering he has been being treated for breast cancer which he still has. He was close to death several times but they never gave up on him. This facility has the best entire team from administration to the healthcare & PT department I am happy to say he was walking when he came home. A month later he was rushed to the hospital with an abdominal aneurysm in his aorta. So off to surgery he goes to have a stint put in. Survives that and goes back to Highland Meadows for rehabilitation. Then he contacted pneumonia and was on oxygen. They help build him back up through loving, caring & great rehabbing. The personal attention that my dad received was nothing less then a total blessing. They helped him want to get well. He is walking on his own again with just a cane for assistance. Feeling secure & at peace when you have to leave your loved ones to strangers is priceless. They made our journey better then I could ever imagine. My father's name is Fred Hall and he loved you all! We are very happy with the care and rehab services from Highland Meadows. When we rolled my Mother in almost 2 months ago she could not walk, had 2 broken arms, heightened memory issues and she is at a very challenging weight for anyone to lift. To my amazement, she is coming home this weekend and has recovered beyond what I thought was possible. This is all thanks to the outstanding PT Team, Nurses, Social Worker and Staff. The staff worked so very hard to keep her clean, encourage her, feed her and keep her space clean. We visited almost every day and there was never a time when the place was dirty. She enjoyed all of her meals. She actually socialized with others (not something common for my mom). Thank you Highland Meadows! Your hard team work made a giant impact on our family. We appreciate you all! I would highly recommend Highland Meadows Health & Rehab in Rockwall.
