July 2026
To whom this may concern. My name is Ruben Torres, I am the ex-husband to Julie Saenz, a patient there in y'all's facility. First of all, I want to start off by saying that I am a 45 year old man with a full time job, (50+ hours weekly), I have my own home, and the proud owner of the most comfortable queen sized bed ever made. I bring that up because I would love nothing more than to be home every night, and falling asleep in that oh so comfy bed, however, here recently, my personal life has been disrupted, and has taken a back seat to my growing concern for my ex wife Julie. Julie called me and begged me to please come to y'all's facility, not only to keep her company, but to also help with the little things she needs done for her personal care, so I found myself there, spending the night, and helping where need be. Her main concern was her calling and asking your staff to tend to what you would assume be the job of the staff working there. For example, the dressing around her wound for surgery. Not only did she call and ask several staff members to help rewrap or redo her dressing, do to constant blood drainage, but waited more than a full day or 2 before finally her giving in and attempting to rewrap her self, along with my help, because we did not want to wait any longer, and her wound possibly getting infected. We did the best we could, however, our concerns turned into a reality when the doctor finally came in to check on Julie and her wound, and notified us of an infection settling in on her wound. Needless to say, Julie was taken back to Medical City Las Colinas where doctor performed ANOTHER surgery to clean up the infection. Now back at your facility, once again, I made it a point to hang around Saturday night, and attempted to stay again Sunday night, just in case Julie happened to be ignored again, and needed any help at all with the job responsibilities of your staff. Instead, I was told that I could no longer stay, and that if I didn't leave there was a possibility that I could be escorted out of the building. As I said earlier, I would love nothing more than to be in my own home and my own bed, it's just hard not to want to be there with her, seeing and experiencing the neglect already shown in previous weeks. In closing, just as easy and simple it would be to show up and personally escort me out of the building, I would hope it would be just as easy and simple to show up and personally escort your necessary staff members to Julie's room to do what their job entails, and hopefully avoiding any more unnecessary setbacks brought forth by their unnecessary negligence. On a side note, when I'm there, not once do I ever leave Julie's room, not once have I ever disrupted y'all's facility, not once have I ever started trouble with any staff there. I find it so unprofessional to be told to leave the premises without ever asking me personally if I had any questions or concerns that needed to be addressed so that my presence there was not needed. A simple conversation is all that was needed before any threats were ever to be made. Simply put, if your staff was there doing their jobs and what needed to be done, then there is no reason for me to make my presence known, being there, and doing it for them .

Responsiveness to Call Light, especially when immediate assist to bathroom is negligible. Often difficulty understanding accents of foreign-national care givers, especially ones who choose to wear paper masks. Otherwise mostly capable and well meaning. Food choices and accouterments negligible. NOT conducive to weight maintenance or gain. Close to home, generally cheerful, wheelchair accessible facility. Seems somewhat understaffed but overall acceptable for my short term recovery. Staffing may have been affected by Holiday weekend.

Everyone was so kind and patient with me during my stay. Felicia and all the nurse aides were there for me when I needed assistance with anything including small things like a cup of ice or extra pillows and blankets making my stay more comfortable. Physical therapy had me feeling stronger each day and really cool machines to help with the recovery including a virtual tours spanning from U.S. cities to overseas and European cities. My favorite was pedaling in San Francisco along pier 39 in the Fisherman’s Wharf with Alcatraz island and the Golden Gate Bridge in the background. They have a great team of occupational, voice and physical therapists. Housekeeping came daily to sweep, mop and emptying trash receptacles. The meals were always hot, delicious and different every day. I didn’t eat fish before my stay here and have since then changed my opinion about it. I know how silly it may sound but they always used real plates and silverware and everyone knocked before entering the room and those things make a difference in my opinion. I can’t elaborate how much they have invested in your experience here, it is not just a place where you are placed in a room and forgotten. Thank you Noel and Angela you have a wonderful staff and facility dedicated to helping people. The doctors and nurses made sure I didn’t miss any medication and worked with social services to complete my employer’s required documentation allowing me to focus on my recovery. I personally want to thank Donna and Erika from social services for helping make sure my employer got all the paperwork they needed during my recovery. I would recommend Villages on MacArthur to my friends and family members and to you should you need it. Susan the front desk receptionist brightens up everyone’s day with her smile as she greets you when you pass by and a sweetheart in activities will come to play card games like uno with you in your room during your stay. March 2026
Well there were I share with the Village on MacArthur about my love one that needed to be done, as I do them at home, which is part of her care. I was so disappointed that nurse's aid didn't do, so my love one didn't get the nutrition and hydration she needed. I understand that unit where she was , was short of aids as I was told by the morning nurse. I was assured by the Ms Janet, that they can meet all her needs. But that didn't happen in my sight, my love one went to this facility for respite care. I ended up bring her home because she wasn't getting her nutrition as she gets it at home. So I hope that they get more help in that unit .
March 2026
Always friendly staff. Great friendly environment.

I had my grandfather at Villages on MacArthur for almost 2 years. He was very happy with the care and the staff there. The aides took very good care of him. We are very pleased with the care he received at Villages on MacAthur. Anytime we had an issue or a concern, we would let the nursing team know and they would fix it immediately. I am glad we made the decision of placing him there at Villages. We have been at others nursing homes before and we are glad we had finally found the right one. Thank you Villages on MacArthur team for all the care and dedication that you gave my grandfather.

December 2025
If the facility was as good as employees like Anthony in PT. Magdalena and Richard who are two of the best nurse aides you could ask for, T T who drove the van, The very nice receptionist with blond hair and several really compassionate nurses, I would give a five star review. 2 is generous. The facility is extremely understaffed, and could use a thorough cleaning. The management staff seem disorganized. I do not think the place is hopeless and I pray the long term guests are much better treated. My sister was there for rehabilitation and now is home where she continues to get stronger. One more thing that bothered me was the condition of the facilities van. Cracked windshields are a safety hazard.

I am sorry that I am so late getting this written publicly. I want everyone to know that the Villages Of MacArthur are very very good. The nursing staff on the hall that I was in work top notch. I wish I could remember the name of the day nurse, but I remember the name of my caregiver and her name was TT. That was the hall that I was on. That was a very good experience that I had there. Oh yeah, the food was delicious. The cooks were very good and I had good friends there and a very good ambassador. I do recommend this place oh, by the way, the rehab is great. They look out for you and give you great exercise and they have a wonderful gym and good instructors. They are top notch and watch over you and check on you in your room.; and I approve this message.
