Sunstone Village is unique it its cottage like apartments. No stairs to climb, promotes resident contact, open spaces and attractive community center. The fitness center, swimming pool and grilling area encourage an active life style. The staff is very friendly and listens to any issues or concerns you might have. I’ve lived here for two years now and have thoroughly enjoyed my time here. Our manager and assistant managers we currently have are the best I have seen or had the pleasure to work with in a mighty long time. The activities that are planned on the calendar each and every month are fun and the camaraderie that we have with our residents during these activities is great. I have met many new residents here in our village Within the last two years and now have friends in abundance. Just recently celebrated my 5 year anniversary here at Sunstone. Before I even moved to this community, I prayed that I would be surrounded by friendly, kind and caring neighbors. i must admit that I haven't been disappointed in the least. As a neighbor and Tai Chi participant here at the clubhouse recently admitted to me 'We're a family here at Sunstone', and I can't deny that he's right. We do look out for each other and question each others absence whenever we come together at the clubhouse for various activities each week. To boot, I've never felt more cared for by any management team than I have with our current staff. Thus far during their one year+ with us they have strived to resolve any issues that have befallen us as speedily as possible. Our wonderful Receptionist and Assist Manager, Linn, is a true God send. There isn't anything she wouldn't do to help us . She's always cheery and upbeat whenever we meet, whether in the clubhouse or on the grounds. This team has been so inspiring that late last year in 2025 a staff appreciation party planned and paid for by the residents, was held in their honor. i look forward to having them here with us for many years to come. When I sit on my patio with my little furry friend, the neighbors and staff passing by whether on foot or driving, wave hello. The cottage feel and grounds here. is to me, a great alternative when downsizing from a private residence. Thus far, I've no regrets but wish I'd chosen this place 10 years ago after my early retirement.

My husband and I have lived here for 5 years. We moved from Carrrollton TX. We truly enjoy living here due to it feeling like we live in a home. No one living above or beneath you and this is a very quiet and peaceful property. We have such good neighbors here. Everyone is friendly and speaks to you and waves as you drive or walk by. I've been a resident for less than 4months now after big move from K.C. Mo. I have been happy and surprised by the large rooms and storage for a single bedroom apt. The whole staff is very friendly and supportive. The residents are all fun be around, with many activities to keep senior adults connected and active. Sunstone Village presents itself as a quality independent senior living community, but the reality often falls short of what is advertised. The cottage style homes are attractive, and the community is generally pleasant during the day. However, at night there is frequently a noticeable odor, likely due to the community’s close proximity to a nearby trash dump. This is not something that is apparent during daytime tours and should be disclosed to prospective residents. There are several ongoing concerns. New residents are offered significant first-year discounts, sometimes as much as $300 per month, while existing residents face continual rent increases. This creates a clear disparity that feels unfair in a senior living environment. Many residents do not remain beyond their first-year lease, which raises questions about long-term satisfaction and stability within the community. Parking is another challenge. Without a garage or designated parking space, residents and visitors often struggle to find parking. Maintenance responsiveness has been inconsistent. Requests frequently require repeated follow-ups, and there have been incidents of resident apartments flooding, which is especially concerning when response times are slow. Safety and security are also issues. Coyotes regularly roam the property at night, and the security gate frequently malfunctions, leaving residents uneasy about safety. There also appears to be frequent turnover in leasing and administrative staff, which leads to inconsistent communication and a lack of continuity for residents. The leasing process can feel transactional and pushy rather than resident-focused. Grounds maintenance does not consistently reflect what is marketed. Residents were also promised transportation via a community bus, which was discontinued but continues to be advertised. Sunstone Village could be a much stronger community with greater transparency, fair pricing, stable staffing, responsive maintenance, and follow-through on commitments. Seniors deserve reliability, honesty, and respect in the place they call home.

We are in the process of moving in - moving is never any fun - but Gustavo has made it a lot better, we had a problem with our thermostat and he replaced it within 15 min - he is always around and is more than happy to help! This is our first effort at apartment living in over 50 years. It has been an incredible experience. We had no real problems with prior management except for inaction on maintenance items. The current management team led by Heather and Karen are a visible improvement. Lynn has always been friendly and responsive and Brandi appears to be everywhere at once . The experience we have had with the maintenance team led by Gustavo has been superb. We no longer feel our repair requests just get ignored. Of course we have found friends here. Thanks to the staff and residents this is our home.

I joined the Attiva community three years ago. The staff and maintenance have been terrific. A special thank you to Carlos and Louis in the maintenance department. They have attended to any service call promptly and professionally. Also great job to Chris, the grounds keeper for the beautiful surroundings. What a wonderful group of neighbors, and a great place to live. NEW EDIT. 5th year here....Well, times have changed. Now we are SUNSTONE VILLAGE. New management ,staff and new owners. We love SunStone Village as a 55+ community. The residents and staff are very friendly. There are activities for the residents. All of the apartments are one story with outside entrances. The grounds are very pleasant with many mature trees. There is a very nice club house with a large multi-purpose room for a number of activities for residents. There is a big, well equipped fitness center with a number of instructor led exercise classes. A large, outdoor pool is off the back of the club house with an area for outside grilling. Shopping is very convenient with numerous stores nearby.

Love the concept and my neighbors. Very dissatisfied with maintenance or the lack thereof. Security gates non functioning for nearly one year, some residents say much longer. At least one couple without air-conditioning for two months this past summer. Many can no longer afford the rent increases and are moving.

And they are making improvements to the property. I'm only moving to cut my expenses but if its in your budget i would recommend this complex.

I teach Tai Chi and Breathing Classes at Sunstone Village in Denton and that is one happy community! My experience with management has been stellar, very communicative and they actually care for their residents. The residents themselves are always smiling, enjoying themselves and are very pleasant to be around. This is one of my favorite places to teach because the atmospheres is so great!

I have enjoyed my 19 months at Attiva very much. The maintenance department has worked very well with me. I haven’t had to call them more than 3 or 4 times in that 19 months and Chris and Carlos have been professional and prompt. We have had major changes because of Covid 19 and I would like to suggest that the front office put up some kind of night drop for checks. Also, I believe that they could also get out some monthly info on the computer or paper delivered to our doors to let us know what is happening that month. I felt like we could have been treated a little more friendly when we showed up at the doors with questions and should not have to stand outside and talk through the glass. I would have gladly kept my mask on to be safe because I have son whose system is compromised and I am also afraid of Covid.

I recently visited Attiva Denton to tour the property for a friend’s mother. Brittney Zeffer greeted me in the clubhouse and was the staff member that showed me around the property and all of the amenities. Brittney could not have been any nicer. She showed me around the property and every resident or staff member that passed by us wanted to say hi and Brittney knew everyone of them by name and seemed to have a personal relationship with each resident. That was a HUGE factor in my friend’s mother's decision to move into the community. She was very knowledgeable about the units that we looked at and was able to answer all of my questions. There are a number of different communities to choose from these days but the way that Brittney seemed to take the extra step made our decision very easy.

This property is beautiful! I am a contractor that does work with Attiva Denton and let me tell ya.. the managers at this property really stay on top of everything here. If there is ever anything that pops up and needs fixing they are Johnny on the spot and getting right on it. I can't say enough great things about the staff here. This is our first year at Attiva Denton Active Living . This location is sooo convenient to our daughter s house and for all businesses around . We also like the Gym , nice swimming pool and the Bistro . The leasing group are very informative : Caitlin Gilmore, Brittney Zeffer and Amber Silletti are fantastic in assisting and answering any questions or problems that we may have. Our maintenance crews : Jason Camacho, Carlos Pollard and Christopher Campbell are very prompt in completing anything such as: changing light bulbs or leaky faucet. They are very courteous and respectful. We have a monthly schedule for the month activities . I like the exercises that’s offered here such as Yoga, Line dancing and Balance classes. Overall, we considered this very good.

We have really enjoyed the Attiva apartments, staff and community. The apartment is very nice and the service staff is very responsive when there is something that needs to be fixed. I appreciate that Carlos goes out of his way to fix things quickly and if something needs to be ordered always gives an estimated time so we know what to expect. It's a quite community. There are lots of activities available if you are feeling social. And the common areas (exercise room, movie theater, community room, pool and outside area) are always very well maintained. We also appreciate the office staff, especially Brittney who always greets us with a friendly smile and is very helpful. She took her time with us when we were moving in as well as when we transferred apartments and made the transition less stressful. I would highly recommend this community.

Comfortable Living for sure. Attiva is a very well managed community. The staff are professional and friendly. The homes are one story and well built. It is a quite community and shopping is just outside the secure gate. There a lot of fun events scheduled each month and it is a blast to visit with other families here. I have lived here for over a year now and while the office staff leaves a lot to be desired, the three maintenance men are amazing. They go out of their way to be helpful and they always come when I call or ask about something. Jason recently helped me put a couch together and Carlos is very thorough and makes sure I have everything I need. Chris is just a whiz at keeping the electronics up to par for our dinner theatre. I can't say enough about these guys and I hope that Cortland does their best to keep them on staff.

I love visiting my grandpa here because the community and staff are so kind! The property is tidy every time I visit and the clubhouse has a nifty coffee machine that I wish my apartment complex had. He has his own community here of friends he meets up with in the clubhouse and when we walk around the property, it seems like he knows everyone, even their cute dog friends.

I have been a resident at Attiva Denton for about 9 years. I have found it to be a quite place and the grounds have been well maintained. The units are well sound insolated and you hear almost no noise from adjoining apartments. The local management is friendly and helpful when problems arise. I've never had a maintenance problem that wasn't handled in a timely manner. There's quite a bit of social activity available if you want to join in. All in all, it's a pleasant place to live and I have just signed a new lease for an additional 15 months.

We have lived at Attiva Denton five months and love it. Our apartment is very quiet and very spacious. There is lots of storage. They have so much going on at the clubhouse that you have to pick what you like most or you would be up there all the time! There are potluck dinners, movies, bingo, Bunco, card games, Karoke, bible study, nice exercise room and classes and a beautiful pool. We hope, Caitlyn, Brittney, Amber and Jason never leave our community as they are the best. Our maintenance requests are taken care of very quickly. My husband and I moved to Attiva Denton last Fall and have now renewed our lease for another term. The office and maintenance staff are all wonderful. We love the size of our 1 bedroom apartment, the ample storage, and the beauty of the kitchen/bath. We have met lots of people who are all very friendly. One of my main reasons for enjoying Attiva is the quiet. I stayed with some friends on a visit and realized how lucky I am to enjoy the quiet and security I have. The maintenance is always done quickly with trusted employees. The landscaping keeps the area beautiful and clean. Extra wide doors and no carpet make living in a wheelchair easy for me.

I will be leaving this lovely place to buy a place of my own. I enjoy the activities, and the consideration of all the staff. I will really miss this property and people. It is a good choice to live!!!! There is no perfect place, but this comes really close.

Everyone's nice, and the lounge is kinda fancy with their Starbucks coffee maker and their tv's. The gym is open all night and they have workout machines for pretty much every muscle group.

I really enjoy the residents who live here. They're caring and compassionate and we have fun, especially for line dancing.

I've just past my sixth year as a resident of Attiva Denton. I've enjoyed my years there and all the friends I've made while attending the many events arranged by the management. I recently moved from a 2 br to a one br apartment. The local management set up the details and it went flawlessly. Any problems I've had with my unit has always been handled on time and satisfactory.

Gosh, where do I start!? Ok, front office staff are the three most amazing women who genuinely look after the property and residents in every way possible. They are courteous, pleasant, friendly, knowledgeable, and really customer service oriented. They have managed to present the property in good stead, while undergoing a massive refurbishment of all of the apartments, business office, and activity rooms. The pool is the center of attention during mid afternoon water volleyball, the fitness center is well equipped and group activities include exercise, dance, and yoga. There are more activities available to participate in throughout the day and week which support our community and benefit the social aspect of being good neighbors. Occasional outings have included trips to Wndstar Casino, sailing, and dinners. The maintenance crews provide rapid response and attentive workmanship to address all concerns. The recent refurbishment is very comfortable and looks very inviting. And now, the neighbors, OMG, they are incredible and I find myself surrounded by the most interesting people. Community access to local stores and shops are within .5 to 1 mile distances.
