My father has been a resident at this facility for 2025. At first impression when you enter the facility it appears as though they have their act together. Don’t be fooled… They pride themselves that they provide chef prepared meals… my dad has been fed half frozen hamburgers for meals. The servings are ( in my opinion) not even enough to sustain the health of a child of 7 years old. His care team is nasty and when he needs help and pushes his call button… he can wait up to an hour for help. My father calls me crying to call the front desk and get him help. I had to call to get him help because the nurses did not connect him to oxygen. DO NOT place your loved one in their care!!! This place is horrendous! I’ve called the state several times to report them… I’m not sure how they have 5 stars!!! Pathetic!

I've toured several places. This was by far my favorite. The layout was not difficult. The dining area was so beautiful and homey. The rooms were very nice, you don't hear everything going on in the hallways or other residents. It was happy and cheerful. It was a place I would go to. Unfortunately my loved one declined too quickly to go here. The people were kind and sent home a bag with a delicious goody. Check it out!

Placing a love one in an assisted living facility can resurrect a multitude of emotions throughout a family, necessitating in-depth investigative and research efforts to select that special place. Finding an organization that doesn't just tell you a great story; but quantitatively and qualitatively proves it by their actions. Prime indicators of the culture and ethos of an organization are quickly determined in how the resident is treated! This is the acid test to ascertain the effectiveness of leadership and the quality of management that propels the organization. It is through the compassionate hard work of : aides, nurses, social workers, wellness and culinary personnel etc; that the stress and concerns of the family finds relief! As a Power of Attorney and family member, I have found comfort and peace of mind in our decision to place our love one in Seaton Springwood. The executive management standards of " Resident Centered Care" transcends all levels of the Springwood organization resulting in a home like environment and residents experiencing an extended support system of dedicated professionals whose services are exceptional! With any entity, everything may not always be perfect; however, it is such a delight to deal with responsible individuals, who bring meaningful solutions to the challenges of a fragile elder's journey. During my quest, I have found an organization where there is: an effective management team, committed and kind resident services personnel supported by talented culinary and maintenance craftsman. These characteristics and capabilities are the ingredients that constitute success in the welfare of our loved senior. For these reasons our family feels blessed in being able to place our love one in the care of Seaton Springwood. John S. Ramming, JD, MBA

Love this place my grandma is living in her she is treated so well
June 2024
My mom had been living alone in MD for many years and had been fully independent until recently. Also, during this time, she became more and more depressed due to being alone and isolated. We knew it was time to make a change so we moved her into Seton Springwood almost 2 weeks ago. I went to visit her the other day and she told me that she is extremely happy with everything/ everyone and that my wife and I could not have found a better place for her. She said that everyone is treating her so well and that she has not been this happy in many years! It is as if she is an entirely new person. I cannot possibly thank the staff enough for everything. The entire process is a very emotional one for the families involved. We have to accept and face the fact that our loved ones are declining and we can only pray that we are making the right decisions. This can also cause us to have a roller-coaster of emotions as well, but Seton did an amazing job across the board and put our minds at ease.

Seaton Springwood promotes a great sense of community between the residents and staff. The variety activities are interesting and educational. The rehab department is outstanding. The Personal Care Assistants are caring and patient. We have had a very positive experience with Seaton Springwood.

This is a beautiful community. Everyone is incredibly friendly and very helpful. The residents are very well taken care of and always appear happy and are pleasant. This is a very welcoming environment.

The first few weeks were rough because it took my mom a while to adjust to the new facility. A Wanderguard bracelet helped reassure us that she was safe on her explorations and she began to settle in. She loves the food, and is surrounded by lovely, friendly residents who look after each other. Her room is cleaned regularly”it sparkles when they are done. The care givers are very cheerful and communicative with her. As a result, her cognitive function, communication, and communication have all improved. Most importantly, she is comfortable, safe, more content than she has been in a long time. The staff has carefully planned activities that cover all areas of residents’ needs. From church services to happy hours, hymn sings to live music, Seaton has it all. My family and I highly recommend. Oh, and the facility is beautiful!

My mother-in-law became a resident at Seaton Springwood in Nov, 2023 when she needed 24 hour supervision due to dementia. After an adjustment period, she has thrived since living there. The staff is so kind and compassionate. They tell me how much they love her; and you can see they truly feel this way. The Activities offered are wonderful -- something for everyone. Most importantly, she is more like her "old self" again since living at Seaton Springwood.
May 2024
Seaton takes great care of our mom. She feels very much at home.
May 2024
My pop has been there for a little over a month. He has greatly improved physically and mentally from living at home. Compared to the pricing of other places, this so far is a damn good facility. The staff have great banter with my pop. The food was banging. I'd love outward communication about his needs, but can't argue with results so far.

I am a current resident here. Our days are as active or relaxing as we wish. We have a morning fitness stretching followed by a daily chronicle reading with highlights of that day in history. We have a devotional period where we can discuss passages of the new and old testaments. In the dining room we have 3 meals with a good diet. With friendly and attentive servers. Outside we have the opportunity for Seaton bus trips to nearby libraries and places like ice cream shops. A highlight of these trips are the conversations we residents have along the way. We residents have found it easy to be as social able as we would like to be with each other. There are many opportunities to engage and feel like you belong. What we find is that when we start the day with a smile it invites others to have conversations and enjoy each other's company.

The community is full of warmth and caring employees. If you want a place to feel like home- for both residents and team members- this is it! The activities are so engaging- the director does a fantastic job of including residents and encouraging fitness, socialization, and just pure FUN. The food is amazing and the team really tries to cater to everyone's tastes- the director will go out of her way to include special meal requests in her menus. She truly goes above and beyond. Every member of the leadership team is committed to helping residents and family members in every way possible. This is truly a special place.

I am very happy to be a resident here at the Seaton At Springwood. I really enjoy the all the meals, activities and having so many staff members and residents that I can call my friends!
July 2023
My mom is currently at Seaton at Springwood and I can not say how much I love this place. The staff from managment to maintance is amazing. My mom has dementia and has been a real handful. They are always compationate, caring and collaberative and have always gone out of their way to assist with her care, mentally and physically. The facility is clean, beautiful and full of activities for all. I have eaten lunch there and the food is also wonderful. If I had to make a choice again IT WOULD BE SEATON hands down. Others in the area dont even come close, as I moved my mom from another facitilty to here and dont regret it one bit. Take a tour you will love it.
March 2022
I cannot comment on how the care is in this facility. I did, however, have a scheduled tour. When my family and I arrived we were immediately greeted at the door by a receptionist that was shouting from at least 20 feet away that children are not allowed in the facility. She said it several times and said children under 13 are not permitted. As a family we decided that we did not want our loved ones in a facility where they could not see their great grandchildren. My son was pretty upset with how he was being treated so we told the receptionist to cancel the tour. She then told us to hold on a minute and then paged for their admissions coordinator. She then came out and told us this was a CDC guideline and that the other facilities we had toured were not following the guidelines. Also suddenly the age changed from 13 years old to 10 years old. We again canceled our tour. After getting home and doing some research I found that there is no such guideline and this is a company policy. The way those two made my son feel is the reason why I’m writing this. My 5 year old asked on the way home Mommy, why does that place and those people not like children. Again I cannot comment on the care they give, but giving two stars because it did look nice from the 3 steps we took inside the facility.

Understaffed, horrible bland food. Very expensive for poor care.

My aunt had been a resident at the Haven at Springwood for approximately 10 years. She recently passed and I am forever grateful for the wonderful care and services she received at The Haven.

Very nice place. My grandfather’s wife lived there the last few years of her life and it was a good experience. It was clean and the staff was very nice and helpful. Even as her memory faded, the kept her active and engaged.

Love, Love LOVE the Haven at Springwood!! Brandy and Marlo rock!!!
September 2020
I have only been a part of The Haven family for a few months now and I have felt so welcome. The staff are very friendly and hardworking. During times like this and the COVID19 pandemic, it can be hard to keep a positive attitude but we've been doing our best to keep our residents happy and safe. So far we've been doing well. Also the building is beautiful and has a comfortable feel to it.
September 2020
Wonderful management, and wonderful lovely residents
September 2020
My mom has been here since March 2015. Overall, the facility is clean, bright, and friendly. She enjoys the various daily activities the Haven offers as well as the occasional field trips. Present management is quick to respond to residents' concerns, and even requests feed back on how to improve the quality of care. COVID update: The Haven has been outstanding in keeping the residents safe. They’ve also thought out of the box in developing window visits. I received weekly calls during the early days of the virus, advising what the Haven was doing and asking if I had any questions. They put the residents’ health first in everything they did. They continue to deserve 5 stars.
September 2020
For me this 5 star rating is easy to give because I have seen first hand the quality care, the bonding of all associates and personnel to those who are being taken care of. My Aunt who has now had the good fortune to be in this fantastic facility for going on six years and is 93. Like in mostly all cases it wasn't easy in the beginning but once they become so influenced with the real care that these nurses, house keepers, activity directors, and all other associates bring every day to this facility; it is not hard to like and then love this place. It is for REAL, no make up here. Just about every employee in this place knows all that stay there by first name, and knows there personality traits. This takes more then just service, it shows compassion something that a high majority of institutions like this don't have. From a supporter point of view which I am over my aunt, I could have not made a better decision then to choose this place for her final years of life. I just pray that I can continue to keep her in this wonderful facility until God, decides it's time to really come home.
September 2020
This facility goes above and beyond to assist the resident’s and their families in their time of need! The building is decorated lovely and the staff truly care deeply for each resident living at The Haven.
September 2020
Housekeeping Director Jan Parsons should be recognized for her efforts to maintain a safe environment for the residents and staff of the Haven, and for keeping me regularly informed about the well being of my 95 year old aunt, a 12 year resident of the Haven, during the difficult days of the Covid pandemic. Jan always provides a cheerful and positive message about my aunt 's well being in spite of the challenging conditions faced by her and all employees of the Haven.
September 2020
We have an amazing team of incredibly hard working people who give 110% to our residents! The staff work best when they work together and strive to do their best. Under the additional stress of COVID I couldn’t be more proud or more grateful to these dedicated individuals who show up every day and put their life on the line to provide compassionate care to our seniors. They are the real heroes and I salute each one of them! ‘‘‘
June 2019
My grandmother was there for close to 3 years. She loved it and called it home. Took a little bit, but it was her comfort place.
March 2019
My Mom is 91 and has been a resident for almost three years. I have been VERY pleased with everybody operating The Haven and would recommend this facility unequivocally. They concentrate on providing the small details to the residents that really makes the place 'a home'. My Mom is very happy there, from the facility itself but more so because of the people attending to her needs. I would be happy to answer any questions that somebody would have about placing their loved one under the care of the staff at The Haven. To all the workers there - GOOD SHOW!!
January 2019
The memory care facility downstairs is sad and woefully understaffed. The place needs some cheering up to make it a more appealing space. Unlike the main floor upstairs, this area feels like stepping into a hospital. There are times when I visit my aunt where I can go nearly the whole stay without seeing a staff member. This is because they have so many tasks to perform apart from attending to the patients. For all intents and purposes, I do appreciate the workers as they are very friendly, keep the place tidy, and do an tremendous job with the resources provided.
December 2018
July 2018
Comfortable surroundings, lots of fun things to do. The staff is dedicated and cares!
July 2018
Amazing administrator! I couldn’t be happier about her.
February 2018
My father and I had checked and reviewed many places for my grandmother. After a long time of visiting other locations and seeing what each has to offer we picked the Haven, which we couldn't be more happy with than we are. It is absolutely the perfect place for my grandmother. The building structure is extremely nice and easy for the elderly, constant amount of activities for them to do (such as Catholic mass ever third Tuesday of the month or how the girls get together Sundays and paint their nails!), while having a nice schedule. They even have their own doctor that comes which makes it nice so my grandmother doesnt have to keep taking trips that would otherwise tucker her out; however, what really makes this place the best is the employees. Every single time my father and I have come they have displayed an excitement to be there. Each employee is happy to be there, happy to work with the elderly living there, and enjoy themselves while working there. I cannot recommend this place enough for anyone looking at a place for their grandparents or parents. Even we who only come to visit my grandmother get such a warm welcome. It is absolutely the best place that we could have put her at and I highly recommend that you check this out!
April 2013
The Administrator was the worst part of my terrible experience. What a jerk! He really thinks he is god and he also really hates seniors! I would never put my mother there! When I spoke to him he used phrases like, "What do you know? Are you a doctor?" and "Why don't you leave it to the professionals..." In a very condescending tone. I heard him degrade two other staff members while we were there!!!! The food is very sub-par. Do you know those two dollar frozen dinners you can buy? Yea, worse then those. Your parents raised you, clothed you, and fed you, do them a favor and don't stick them in that overpriced Wal*Mart Personal Care Home!
August 2010
The Haven at Springwood is an assisted living facility for elders, although it's not such a haven. It's overpriced for the value that you get. The food is frozen and precooked. Don't let them tell you that it's freshly made. The younger CNA's in the staff are unattentive and will hang out in the elderly residents room to watch TV. The director is condescending and allows his large dog to roam the halls. Occasionally the dog enters the residents rooms when their doors are open. Explore your options before choosing an assisted living facility.
