Friendship Village of Dublin – Reviews
September 2024
Our experience at Friendship Village of Dublin was tops. We signed our contract in mid June and moved in 2 months later. Jen and Neil were wonderful to work with. They answered all our many and frequent questions. We were able to make many selections as our unit was being completely redone. We have felt very welcomed as many people have reached out to us for dinner plans. It's better to be here 5 years too early than attempt it 5 years too late. As I write this we are enjoying a beautiful sunset from our west facing bay window. Come for a visit and stay.

I have worked here, for almost twenty-two years, and can honestly say this is the best place I have ever worked. The care, compassion, kindness and love for the residents I have observed is amazing. Every day I see my fellow associates "go that extra mile" to ensure that our residents receive the best that they can give. Many times our residents have told me how much they enjoy living here and how safe they feel here.

So far, so great. We moved my dad into independent living a couple of months ago and have been delighted. His apartment is great, he's made friends, and the food is very good. The doctor on site is fantastic, and my dad has physical therapy in the gym. It's a stressful undertaking to decide where to put a parent, but Friendship Village has been a wonderful choice.

My experience of moving into Friendship Village of Dublin was beyond excellent. I can't say enough about the kindness and care taken by the staff of FVD. My family looked at several retirement facilities before landing on this one. And what a blessing it has been. I'm looking forward to a long and happy life in my new home.
July 2024
After carefully considering a move to a senior living facility, I made my decision and moved into Friendship Village of Dublin in late July. With the support of Neil, our Senior Residency Counselor and Jen, our Move In Coordinator, my transition has been pleasant and seamless. Neil could not have been more patient and helpful as I worked through my decision process, and Jen has been there whenever needed ready to answer every question and attend to all the details of getting set up and settled into my new home. Since moving in, I have enjoyed becoming reacquainted with former friends while meeting many new welcoming residents. With the wide range of activities, services, and dining options, I am enjoying busy days and a healthy lifestyle in the beautiful environment here at Friendship Village of Dublin. Wayne Wookey

Health and lifestyle were at the top of our list as we made plans to move to a retirement community. Neil Edelson, Senior Residency Counselor for Friendship Village of Dublin, was great at asking questions and then, listening to understand, what we were looking for. Neil's questions were so helpful without any pressure. He took us on a tour and we saw not one, but two workout centers, a beautiful pool area, and four dining venues that friendship Village has to offer. We toured several apartment floorplans and saw many rooms where people could gather to enjoy book clubs, card clubs, as well as many other activities. We also saw many beautiful gardens throughout the complex. As couple we like to be together. Neil discussed options if one of us needs to take advantage of assisted living or memory care. He was also well-versed in all of the financials. Downsizing into our apartment seemed overwhelming at first. Jen Norder Move-in Coordinator alleviated that stress allowing us multiple visits to the space. Her always pleasant personality had a calming effect on plenty of measuring, planning, and remodeling activities. Neil and Jen were with us every step of the way. As a team and as individuals, we would rate them five stars out of five stars for getting us into the perfect environment for our new lifestyle.

it's a big decision to move anyplace. Both Neil and Jen made sure that we understood all of the important financial parts and then went on to make our transition smooth. much has happened in our first year here. There is so much to do or not to do – our choice. EVERYONE is truly friendly and supportive… our old friends and new ones - plus the staff are so engaging. knowing that ROWAN HOUSE(memory care) could be in our future is of great comfort. but — big surprise— I had a stroke in April which put all of our pre planned wishes into play immediately. From who would be with my husband while I was in the hospital to our COPC in the building Doctor calling the squad. All of my physical and speech therapy have been in our building. the kindness, concern and care from everyone has been wonderful. Now we are back to our routines of exercising, lectures, movies, trips, and the swimming pool. No one talked us into coming here. It just felt right —- trust your gut !!

Making life decisions by oneself can be very daunting but, lucky for me, the staff at Friendship Village made the process of moving as painless as possible. Neil and Jen carefully explained, and helped me with, all aspects of joining the community from finances to paint colors for my apartment! I called them a lot, but it was never a problem. I'm now three months into my very happy life here, and I still look forward to seeing Jen and Neil - this time for fun, casual conversations. The whole staff here is amazing - I feel very fortunate to have made the FVD choice.

I moved here last July and I couldn't be happier. Neil, and Jen made the transition from my home to Friendship Village very easy. They were in contact with me every step of the way. As many residents here say ( including me). " This is like living on a cruise ship without the water!). The residents are super welcoming and very friendly. The activities offered are outstanding and varied. The staff is helpful, and they all seem to love working here. I'm so glad I made the choice to move here.

The facilities and grounds are top-notch and meticulously maintained. What makes Friendship Village of Dublin five stars, though, is its people; both the staff and residents. My father moved here from out of state, and I coordinated things to ensure a smooth transition for him. The staff, especially Emily and Jen, are super knowledgeable and, very importantly, patient with my many questions and visits to take measurements. Dad has been welcomed by his move-in "buddies" and all the residents and is acclimating to the community. There's no shortage of things to do here on a regular basis. Trips are also organized to take advantage of arts and culture in Columbus as well as the larger area. I can't say enough good things about Friendship Village!

To date, my parents' experience with Friendship Village has been superb. While they have now committed but not quite yet moved in, we have been treated with warmth and respect. In particular, Katie Huffman from the Marketing team has been a godsend in addressing all of our questions and individual needs throughout this process. I have no doubt my parents will feel at home once they arrive and receive great support. We are very impressed by the facilities, amenities, and residents. However, most importantly we appreciate the caring and supportive staff. Thank you!

My mom and I went to visit several senior living centers in the area, and Friendship Village was the one she chose. While she was nervous about leaving her condo in Dublin, mom has found her new independent living apartment to be a perfect fit. She is so happy there. The amenities, living options, and levels of care were perfect for her needs. She has met so many nice people, and is quickly making many new friendships, and enjoying all that Friendship village has to offer. Jen , the Move-in coordinator, and Neil, the residency counselor, did such an amazing job helping us navigate through the process! We can’t thank them enough for their patience and their willingness to answer all of our questions. They really made the process warm and friendly!

I moved into Friendship Village of Dublin from out of state 1 and 1/2 years ago and couldn't be more satisfied. The grounds are beautiful, the staff is excellent, the residents are friendly and welcoming. There are numerous activities to keep you healthy and engaged, entertained and challenged. I recommend you contact Neil for a personal tour to see if this is the right move for you also.

Betsy and I moved to FVD in October 2020. The decision to leave our home of 38 years here in Columbus and move to a retirement community was not an easy one to contemplate. That process meant acknowledging that our desire for continued independent living might at some point have to yield to a need for assisted or continuous care. It took us several years to "start looking," and we looked here in Columbus and closer to where our children live on the East Coast. On our first visit to FVD, we met with Neil Edelson in the marketing group. We spent well over an hour as he reviewed the many options types of residences, other facilities, meal plans, etc. that were available. Importantly, we established a relationship; Neil advised us over several months as we determined what would work best for us. Once we made our decision and the unit became available, we received invaluable assistance during our transition from downsizing to moving in. FVD has proven to be "everything that was advertised" and more. The facilities are terrific and the staff in all areas could not be more friendly and helpful. Covid 19 raised its ugly head as we were looking and subsequently moving in. FVD's response to the pandemic has been and continues to be outstanding. In short, our move to FVD has allowed us to continue our personal and professional relationships of many years and make new friends in the Village with the knowledge that if we need more assistance, it will be here for us.

Our experience at Friendship Village of Dublin was wonderful every step of the way! Neil Edelson was SUPER helpful in explaining the benefits and different cost elements and Jen Norder was also SUPER helpful when it came to actually coordinating our mom’s move in.

We recently moved our father to a smaller apartment in Independent Living. I can't say enough about the helpfulness of various staff members who assisted us throughout this process. They helped to make the move seemingly effortless. Both the Sales Director and the Health and Wellness Navigator went (and continue to go) above and beyond in providing very timely and thoughtful responses to our questions and any concerns. We feel very comfortable and confident in their capabilities. Their timeliness, follow up and attention to detail is very much appreciated. Not always common qualities these days. So a very big THANK YOU to ALL of you!

I have worked for Friendship Village of Dublin for almost 6 years. The Director, Department Heads, Board of Directors, Staff and our family of Residents make our community a positive environment in which to work. Management recognizes employee commitment to the community and graciously compensates such dedication. Being a part of such a caring workplace is such a blessing during these challenging times. I am grateful to be a part of the FVD community.

I cant say enough good things about Friendship Village Rehab. I live in Utah and was coordinating things for my aunt and uncle in Dublin. Amber and Jessica were so on top of things. Their communication was wonderful, they always kept me in the loop and they went above and beyond to ensure everyones safety during COVID. My aunt and uncle said the food was great, the staff were compassionate and caring and the management was right on top of things. 5 stars! Thanks for all you did for them.

My mother and father have lived at Friendship Village for 4 years now. The staff is amazing and the food is top notch. The Sunday brunch is the best in the city. The leadership is spot on with there vision of expansion. The new dining rooms are first class. The health center staff is also top notch and are caring and kind. I love visiting my parents and I must add it was the best decision they made about retiring. Keep up the amazing work all of you do.

Lorita and Bill (new residents) enjoyed hosting a birthday brunch celebration for their granddaughter and daughter-in-law in the Legacy dining room. Food. Family. Fellowship. The brunch could easily rival any of the Sunday brunches in the city. (The picture of the men is in the thread)

I have worked at Friendship Village for many years and a lot of my co-workers have been here for a long time too, some over 15 years and some even over 20 years. People dont stay in jobs that long unless they like what they do and the people they work with. The residents must like living here because the place stays pretty much full all the time. They can see how the staff works together and they can fill out a form to tell us what were doing right and we get a lot of thank yous from them. I think most of them would recommend Friendship Village. And I do too.
