It's been so hard finding a place that I felt comfortable placing my aunt. Just putting her in the care of someone who is not family was so hard on all of us. The staff has been great so far, my aunt is happy and forming relationships with the staff. Holly in admissions was amazing and calmed so many of our nerves. Thank you for all you have doe for us.

I had a good friend stay here for rehab after surgery. This building is the nicest nursing home I've ever been to (and I've been to plenty for family and friends). I live close to here and have driven past many times, but the building is so beautiful that I never realized it was a nursing home before I visited, especially because the building doesn't look like a nursing home at all. It is kept really nice outside and inside and is very clean. The people working here taking care of my friend were very kind to her and she always had what she needed. They also gave her very good therapy and she was able to go home in much better shape than when she came in. I hope that when another friend or family member needs a nursing home that they're able to come here. I also had someone in my family stay at this company's nursing home in Marion and it was just as good of an experience for them as Dublin was for my friend.

First, 5 stars for the staff. Was concerned re negative reviews when we decided on Legacy in a pinch for a short rehab stay for my father between the James Cancer Center and going home. However, every single staff member we encountered was exceptional- aides, food service, nursing, etc. Knowledgeable, professional, kind, and attentive. Specifically, Moona, Jamila, David, Dede, Courtney, & Kathy were amazing. They took their time listening to my dad and expressed genuine care and concern. These individuals are in the right profession and doing an outstanding job. I believe the root cause of the negative experiences in the other reviews is a management/corporate issue. While each staff member was fantastic at their job, there aren't enough of them. The ratio of staff to resident is inadequate, & there is no apparent rhyme or reason to how the rooms are assigned. As a weak & immuno-compromised cancer patient coming from 29 days at the James, Dad's placement made little sense. He was in a shared room on the second floor, in the last room at the end of the longest hallway. When he needed a pain pill or any other service and pushed his call button, a light would come on outside of his room, but as far as I could tell, there was no audible signal. It was on average 20 minutes before someone came in unless I walked down to the nurses' station and asked for service myself. And not bc they were standing around, but bc they were tending to other residents and hadn't seen his light yet at the end of the hall. Without an advocate, I can see how someone would feel like an immobilized or otherwise vulnerable loved one was at risk or not being cared for. Also, nobody answers the phones there, EVER, or returns calls, EVER. So if you were unable to be on-site with your person, and they were unable to use a phone, it would be very unsettling. Other comments, the food was not great, but it could have been due to being the last stop. One night, dinner was supposed to be grilled cheese and tomato soup. He got a wrapped, cold chicken salad sandwich and a fruit cup. For dinner, not lunch. Breakfasts usually were missing certain elements such as milk for oatmeal and cream of wheat, which were never brought if asked. Again, not because the servers were unkind but I'm sure spread too thin. The facility overall was clean, especially the common spaces. The room itself reminded me of a dorm but looked much older than its 9 years, not well-maintained. The wallpaper was ripped, the light was missing the pull cord, and the furniture was very worn. The armoire was missing its handle, and the drawers and door wouldn't close together- only one or the other. The shared bathroom had one towel bar and no storage for two residents. The other resident's things were all that could fit on the sink. But again, immuno-compromised: I wouldn't have left his personal items in a shared bathroom anyway. But it wasn't equipped for two. The only chair in the room was a straight-back armchair. To elevate my dad's swollen legs/feet from his cancer, I asked for an ottoman or footstool but learned that only single rooms are furnished with recliners. In summary, I would only recommend this facility for a loved one who is relatively independent with limited medical needs. But I would absolutely recommend the staff members for raises and promotions!
