It has gotten better over the past 2 years much in most departments with Activity and the dining room! The Activity department has something for us to do everyday. With prizes for participation weather you win or not. The kitchen has increased the variety of what you can choose from for what you want to eat weather it is breakfast, lunch, or dinner You are able to eat in the dining room or they will bring to your room. Activity has Bingo 5 days a week that you get a prizes for at least once a month.We all are for sure to be at the Activity room at 2:00pm Mon thru Friday . ALL times three is a live singer/perfomance,, comedian. There is not a day that goes by that goes by that we don't LAUGH!!!.. We might go from crying but something turns us around to laughing ALWAYS!& Even now the staff (nurse's, C.N.A.'s, manag P.T., even maintenance, all the way down to the people who do the admiring and discharge of people no matter where they are going...

I have my sister as a patient after a stroke, I find the staff very nice and helpful, not just that but the care giver Zaneta she is exceptional very experienced helpful hard working my sister loved her and she responded very well with Zaneta, she gave my sister the first real bath since two months , my sister was smiling for the first time since her stroke. My mom was at the facility for almost a year. Late stage Alzheimers dementia. There are some wonderful staff at this location. Then, some are not so wonderful. My mom had a one on one aid 24/ 7. Some aids would actually take time, do her nails, take her for a walk around the facility. Others just sat there, barely interacting with her. That hurt my heart.Doing just the bare minimum. At times the lack of communication was frustrating. But, I am greatful, I could not longer provide the care she deserves and needed.

My significant other was in the rehab wing for about two weeks before he was sent to Henry Ford Hospital. Jessica in Admissions and Carol the Discharge Director were very helpful with my concerns. They both went the extra mile to ensure that my needs were fulfilled. I appreciate their hard work and efforts along with their dedication to make this operation run successfully. However, I do have a couple of concerns.. A) Please update your antiquated telephone system.. Many times calls were not returned and B) Please make sure patient visitors are aware that they need a code when leaving the building. A staff member read me the riot act about not using the code when leaving.. Not my fault when the code was never given.

My brother in law lives in this facility for long term care. When it was time to switch homes for him this time, I went and did tours before deciding. This facility appeared the nicest, cleanest, and most professional. I peeked at other residents rooms while walking through and people looked attended to. Back story: My brother in law had a massive stroke 4 years ago. He is 51 years old, bed ridden and non verbal. The 1st nursing home was horrible. He was covered in bed sores. The 2nd nursing home was better but still not good.They did not encourage him to do anything other than eat and stay in his bed. This is the 3rd home after he refused to return to the last one while at the hospital. I must say that I am over the moon impressed with this place!!!!! They did a care meeting that they actually followed. My brother in law has only been there for a handful of months and this bed ridden man is WALKING now. He is getting into his wheel chair roaming around and socializing on HIS OWN. I thank the physical therapy staff for not giving up on him and non stop encouraging him to try (even when he didn't want to). Thank you to the staff at Medilodge Shoreline!!!!!

I would never recommend this place. They put my Dad in a room with another patient and the room was way too small. I would say his space was only about 9 feet by 6 feet. The room was divided unevenly, although he had the window. It was difficult to even maneuver in the room. The bathroom was small with no ventilation and always smelled even if it looked clean. Sometimes when I visited, I’d find my Dad sitting in a wheelchair with no pants on. The bed was usually unmade. The entire place smelled bad. So bad that the smell permeated even clean clothes. Also they lost his shoes. I had to ask ten times if they had faxed blood work results. They are totally unorganized. They don’t care. Please don’t responded with a cut and paste comment. I don’t need it.

I went here years ago and they were fantastic to my situation. They brought me a brand new rollator walker when they found out my landlord had threw my old one out. 2015 is when I was here. They gave me a private room due to my medical situation and I kept my room cold. Lol the staff didn't want to leave it. In the event my situation requires me to be there again I will love to come back.

Staff is good however sometimes the pharmacy does not comply with in a good time frame on filling my moms eye drops this has happened twice this is not acceptable. also food is not desirable please please serve better food

This is a rehabilitation, and hospice facility. The staff is very nice and caring to my relative who is a patient there. They just hired a new chef who is very welcoming to the patient's suggestions for improving the menu; they are also in the process of opening up the dining rooms so the patient's don't have to eat in their room all the time. I am looking forward to the upgrades.

CAUTION here please read thoroughly and make the best judgement possible for your loved one. It’s not an easy process to choose from the many facilities out there, most of which have terrible reviews. Giving Medilodge of Shoreline 3 stars overall. The nighttime nursing staff gets NO stars due to their extremely understaffed team. I’d like to say it is by no fault of the team themselves and more so the management but unfortunately there are a few sour apples that spoil it for the rest. Their Rehabilitation team certainly earned 5 stars for their excellent program and compassionate team! During our 30+ day experience rehabilitating our previously independent mother after a major health event we certainly were able to recover well and in some aspects better/faster than expected. This did not come without MAJOR stresses, worries and potentially fatal errors. Our first few weeks here we were left without bathroom options and sometimes HOURs of waiting before getting assisted with clean up. For someone recovering to become independent again this was a MAJOR a problem and stress on our overall well being. Normally I would give some benefit of doubt but I personally sat with my mother for HOURs while she begged for bathroom assistant only to be told when I can get to you and eventually being left to sit in her own fecal matter. Living 1+ hour away I was left to drive down some nights to find assistance after receiving numerous calls from our mother begging for help. This was and still is an issue for them that needs to be addressed immediately! The expectations of this assistance coming from the directors was 15 minutes or less from call light to assist. Nothing changed. On 3 other occasions our mother was given drugs that were not prescribed to her and intended for her roommate. Luckily she had her wits about her and was able to challenge them. This could potentially be a fatal mistake given the wrong drug/person!! There is 0 tolerance for these kind of issues and they need to address this! Other occasions I found drugs on her bedside and was not able to get clarity as to if she needed them, took them, what they were etc. Other times the night time nursing staff would deliver and walk without observing her take the meds. Another big oversight and demonstration of lack of care. Outside that the food service was poor as they did not tend to dietary needs/requests and when asked to make changes would simply ignore. Now there is a good upside to this place. Their Rehabilitation team is first class! These people go above and beyond and were the Primary reason for our mothers recovery success. The day time nursing staff seems to operate well and has some excellent care givers. Overall from this side of things it is exactly what you would hope for. In summary the options out there are poor. Insurance is challenging and sometimes you’re left with tough decisions. I would suggest a high level of monitoring at Medilodge for the above reasons until you have a regimen worked out with their team and observe corrections to these issues. If you’re loved one is incapable of walking or self caring this may not be the place for them! Bottom line you will need eyes on them here. Be an advocate for your loved one.

Severely understaffed for customers who are paying in excess of 5Gs a month to be CARED for... my Mother who is completely alert and oriented who is attempting to rehabilitate after a critical illness frequently spends >60 minutes in her own soiled clothing/briefs with a foley in as she is still to weak to walk to the bathroom without assistance. This place is an infection nightmare.Yes the call lights are answered quick, but then they aides run away to either do other work or maybe sit on their thumbs. My brother has had to call many times after our Mother calls us to tell us nothing is happening. We are working on getting her transferred from your prison. The only KUDOS goes to physicial therapy and the few good nurses I've encountered.

I don’t typically write reviews or put much effort in giving prompts when due but when you come away this impressed with the level of service and compassion that I felt yesterday during the 1 st annual send off to summer party at Shoreline I felt compelled to! Thank you for making it a special day for my grandmother and Salina thank you for reminding us of the event when she came to visit.

I have only good things to say about the tour today, from Salina the admission director who happens to greet me at the door to the nursing staff and housekeeping who were all smiling and saying Hello while passing through. We gave the case manager at the hospital our recommendation to this facility as soon as we walked out!! The building is very clean, and the rooms are Beautiful. I would recommend this facility to anyone!!!

From the beginning when I toured the facility and during the admission process the Administration staff was so friendly, compassionate and also patient with my questions.The facility was very clean! This place provide and my mother with excellent care, they were able to get her up and walking in no time at all and she no longer did the Tim Conway shuffle. The food is not the greatest and the building is older but the staff is awesome especially Felicia.
