My parents moved here 1 1/2 years ago. It’s a very nice facility with friendly staff. We’ve been happy with their care, especially my mom who needed much more than most residents. There are plenty of daily activities and the food is good. Many kind residents. Any concerns or needs have been promptly addressed. We appreciate not having to worry about them.

I feel fortunate to have joined the management team at Waltonwood Lakeside. From day one, the support I’ve received from the Executive Director, my teammates and my residents has been amazing. We assisted my in-laws in moving to an independent apartment at Waltonwood Lakeside in June 2021. Melissa was our first contact there in finding them the right space. She was so helpful and friendly and they loved her immediately. She continued to help them transition after the move as well. Then they met Ollie! Ollie drives residents around the local area and since my in-laws do not have a car, they have come to depend on him for short trips. He is a joy and we always hear about how much they appreciate Ollie! In fact, there has been not one employee not has not been friendly or helpful. The vestibule, hallways, and dining area are in great shape. Clean with pleasant decor. Not dated. I feel like I'm in a nice hotel. There are gathering areas with games and puzzles available. There are sitting rooms with TVs and quiet areas for gathering with visitors. There is a nice back patio as well which is great for sitting on a nice day! There is a calendar that is put out to indicate meal choices for the day (usually choice of 2 entrees at dinner), daily trips, and special field trips. Residents can sign up for a seat on the bus that takes them to area grocery stores, Target, and other places. They have dinner out nights too at area restaurants. I'm happy with the level of socialization my in-laws are getting at Waltonwood Lakeside. They sit with other residents at meals, they play bingo, my FIL participates in the choir, my MIL recently went to a Painting with a Twist session, and they've been to the casinos downtown more than once in 2 years. Recently, my MIL needed emergency care and we were very pleased with the rapid response of the Waltonwood team in getting my MIL an ambulance and to the nearest hospital quickly. She has since recovered without issue and is back in her apartment. During her hospital stay, Ollie and other drivers shuttled my FIL back and forth to the hospital. I can't say enough about this wonderful place! While my MIL still misses her home in Romeo very much, there is no denying that this was the best option for my in-laws given their advanced age, lack of transportation, and proximity to health care services.

We planned to move my mom into memory care at Waltonwood after touring the building, but an unexpected cancer diagnosis meant we had to do things very quickly. Melissa and Lisa were a tremendous help facilitating a very quick move in. Once she was moved in, the memory care staff was beyond amazing with my mom. The care they provided was the absolute best. Each staff member truly cares for the residents, and they are treated as family. Thank you all so much.

We have toured numerous communities in the area looking for a place for my aunt to call home in the next six months. Its a difficult decision to place a family member in memory care, but the staff here is making that choice easier. Most importantly; not seeing people sitting in wheelchairs in hallways doing NOTHING. That was not the case when we toured the memory care unit here. Seems to always be activities going on to keep residents engaged and active. Not quite ready yet, but when we are this looks like a good choice.

My mom was a resident in memory care for over 3 years, the activities helped with her quality of life. Some of her favorites were word games, exercise groups, singing her favorite songs, cooking demonstrations, walking club, gardening and bingo. The caring staff made a big difference in her day to day living.

My mom move into Waltonwood Lakeside a few months ago and everything has been phenomenal thus far. We were a little hesitant moving mom in during covid but we are happy we made the move. The community is so clean and the staff has been such a joy, plus most importantly my mother is beyond happy ! I would definitely recommend this community to anyone who is looking .

The decision to move your loved one to a senior living facility is a big decision. Like Goldilocks looking for the perfect place, we knew Waltonwood Lakeside was just right when deciding where our loved one belonged. Its not too big, nor too small. Its just right. The facility was recently upgraded and is exceptionally clean. Every person that works there makes a point of speaking to you, whether its the dining room server or the executive director. No one is invisible. While health, safety and nutrition are all addressed by highly skilled associates, its the Life Enrichment program that provides fun activities throughout the day. Activities are entertaining and dignified for the declining skills of your aging loved one. The Life Enrichment Program also plans weekly special outings and live entertainment which helps to keep things lively while spiritual needs are met by weekly visits from local churches of different denominations. The caregivers and med techs become part of your family because after all, this is home sweet home for your loved one.

I have volunteered at Lakeside during an Art Walk. Everyone was so nice. When some other companies werent doing things Waltonwood was doing socially distanced activities. The residents were having so much fun. The building was clean and people were happy. Rae was kind and knowledgeable.

I am a current resident and I love it here, I love that there is always something going on. Otherwise I would hold up in my room watching TV. I really enjoy getting to know everyone and new people. I see it as a necessity. I love the brain games, they challenge me and keep me sharp.

As a long time resident of Waltonwood at Lakeside I would like to recommend to others how much I enjoy my life here at Waltonwood, for over more than eight years. Moving here, after my husbands death, was very intimating for me after living in my home for over 50 years. I soon found it was very easy to get acquainted with all my new friends and staff that I would meet here. With the friendliness of the staff and residents I soon felt very welcome in my new home.All the programs and activities help to fill our days, with the help of the staff to encourage you along the way. Now that we are in the process of receiving our vaccine for Covid-19 I look forward, in time, to the return of the many wonderful programs and outings that are a part of our life at Waltonwood.

My dear Dad lived at Waltonwood Lakeside on the Memory Care floor for two years until he passed last fall. The Life Enrichment staff was exceptional. From the time he arrived, they engaged him in group activities as well as met his individual needs and interests. Waltonwood at Lakeside has been a wonderful place for my father. He needed Memory Care. He thrived at Waltonwood because of the care he received and the activities he participated in. I am grateful for the staff especially those that have been at the facility long term. It is hard work and requires special people that dedicate themselves to their jobs. I have lived at Waltonwood Lakeside for over one year. From the moment I moved in it felt like home even though I had lived in my previous home for over 42 years. Waltonwood has very pleasant surroundings and is a well maintained facility. I find the residents to be happy, friendly and cheerful. The staff is well trained and are always ready to help us.They really care about us and try to make our lives interesting. I enjoy fun-filled activities and interesting programs. The exercise programs keep me healthy and the thought provoking activities keep my mind alert. I like the lending library, finding good books to read in quiet times.Our food is excellent, based on healthy, well balanced meals prepared by in-house chefs and served by a delightful staff who really care. The meals are presented restaurant style. While there I can meet and chat with other residents in our beautiful dining room.So forget all your worries, forget all your cares and join us at Waltonwood Lakeside in Sterling Heights, Michigan.

My mom spent many months at Waltonwood Lakeside and it was such a wonderful experience. The staff was professional and truly cared about the residents. I especially found the Life Enrichment program to be valuable for my mom, who was struggling with dementia. It kept her active, helped her brain stay working and kept her entertained. I would highly recommend this location if you have a loved one struggling with memory loss.

Just want people to know who read this how nice this place is.My dad has lived there 3 years now and loves this place. He had a few issues that needed attention he told me Jeremy the maintenance guy came and took care of all his concerns he had and even replaced all of his light bulbs in his bathroom. That made my dad very happy which is why Im posting this..
