Mom was a resident at Shorehaven for about eight years. From the moment she began touring different senior livings, Shorehaven was at the top of her list to live at because it felt so warm and inviting to her. She made so many good friends and just loved all the activities that were offered. The staff were so warm and friendly and she so enjoyed chatting with them. My sister and I always felt at ease knowing how happy and secure she was living at Shorehaven. I honestly believe that she could have been a spokesperson in a commercial for Shorehaven because she enjoyed living there so much.

Shorehaven is truly the best fit for our loved one!! We have personally toured over 23 Assisted Living facilities and chose Shorehaven as they are smaller which is less overwhelming. The staff all are very caring and genuinely want to make their residents happy. Heather has been fantastic, she helped us figure out the best room and updated us when it was ready to move in to. She was not pushy and just helped us work through a few options to pick the right space. The activities are very engaging and the residents are happy. The building is beautiful, very light and soothing wall color and decor while still being casual cozy. Other places I toured where stunning but less focused on the residents and were just too big with all their campus. When your loved one struggles with memory issues and large campus with all these buildings is overwhelming for the family to walk all that way, I can't image how it would be for someone with memory care issues or mobility issues. Lastly, Shorehaven is Month to Month. Other places wanted a One Year Contract which means if your loved one passes away you are stuck PAYING for a YEAR!!!

We moved my mother and stepfather into Shorehaven about a year ago. It is an amazing place with wonderfully caring people that work there. He gained 10 lbs after about 3 months, which in his case was great as he had been sick and had lost a lot of weight! The food is excellent with 2 "specials" at lunch and at dinner each day along with the ability to order about 15-20 other items off the menu if you don't crave the special. They clean the apartment for them weekly and there are innumerous daily activities or outings which they can attend. All in all they love it and particularly the staff who will help you whenever and however you need them to. Highly recommended!

I go with my husband every time he performs at Shorehaven, which has been monthly for the last 10 years.I have noticed that the staff is very attentive to the needs of the residents. As I have had the opportunity to interact with many residents, they seem to be very happy living there.

My brother, sister and I cannot say enough great things about Shorehaven. Our father a very independent man his entire life was going to be battling some cancer health issues and thought it was time for him to sell his condo and look into Senior Living. We visited 2 other Senior Living facilities but when he walked through the door of Shorehaven and was greeted by Heather the Director of Sales, he knew he would be living there. Heather took us on a tour of the facility and showed us what was available, unfortunately dads first choice apartment (which had a deposit on it from another person) ended up taking the apartment. So dad had his second choice. Shorehaven was so great that when his first choice apartment came available again, they paid the movers to move him to it. It was on the first level viewing the pond. He was so happy. Dad absolutely loved all of the staff and he thought the food was great (as he would say thanks to Bill, head chef). We all ate many meals there with dad and we would say the food is great too. How dad loved to eat. You can tell that everyone who works there loves where they work and really looks after all the residents, no matter what their position (job description) is. Heather actually gave us her direct line as dad would never have his cell phone on him and we would get worried and call the front desk to make sure he was okay. We really do not think other facilities would do this. Unfortunately dad only had one full year there, but all of us would say it was a great year for Bob (bell of the ball, is how they referred to him). We still talk to Heather and Bill to this day. Thank you from Sharon, Sandy and Rob for taking such great care of our dad! Love you all!

My mother, who recently passed away just shy of 99, moved into Shorehaven (Atria at the time) 11 years ago. In those 11 years she was blessed to meet and develop long term friendships with many of the residents and staff.She always had interesting and exciting activities to participate in that she enjoyed greatly.She tried to do two activities every day.Crafts were her favorite. She played wii bowling, attended various exercise classes, and sang in the Shorehaven choir. They also had many learning activities such as learning to draw, do watercolor paintings, make greeting cards and act in plays put on by the residents.The facilities were well kept. Her apartment was on the lake side of the building so she could look out and enjoy the lake which was very relaxing.The many of the staff and residents that she was close to were particularly caring and attentive toward the end. This speaks volumes to the friendships and relationships that can be developed and nurtured at Shorehaven.

My mom moved to Shorehaven in January 2020, just before the COVID-19 concerns. She enjoyed socializing with others at meals and activities. The staff has been so kind in trying to keep the residents positive and safe during this difficult time. Everyone is friendly and caring. While newsletters and emails keep us informed, Heather and the front desk staff are ready to answer any questions we have. We are looking forward to the return of normal activities now that vaccinations are scheduled.

I highly recommend Shorehaven, my mom has lived in the community for almost two years. The staff is always friendly, accommodating and very patient. They offer a wide variety of activities. My mom feels comfortable and safe. She enjoys the meals, entertainment, activities and her new friends.This past year has been extra challenging with Covid. The staff has been so positive and very creative keeping the residents engaged. They have given the residents as much independence as possible, still keeping them safe and following the ever changing guidelines. I am grateful for the hardworking staff, they are a special group.

My Mom moved into Shorehaven in November during the COVID-19 quarantines. The communication regarding what was happening and coordination the vaccines has been wonderful.They are so helpful and thoughtful when trying to make the very difficult time manageable.Although we have not yet experienced the dining and activities due to Covid restrictions,the transportation and personal assistance that Mom has utilized has been excellent. The grounds are beautiful with a little lake.The building is decorated for each holiday and the atmosphere is very upbeat.All of their team members seem to genuinely care and enjoy their work. Shorehaven has updated their Facebook page to allow us view what is happening at Shorehaven during this time. The biggest news is now the Salon is re-opening.There are some very happy residents!!If you are considering moving your family member into a senior facility.Make a visit to Shorehaven.I think you will be impressed.

I have profound respect for Bobbi, Cheryl and Linda in the Life Enrichment Dept. They work so hard to motivate and engage us in activity programs and bringing everyone together. The houskeeping department and caregivers have been very supportive and take good care of me.

My mom has been living there for 2 years now and it is wonderful!! My siblings and I have no complaints at all, she has everything she needs and then some. When my father was sick and passed away they were incredibly compassionate. The people who work there are so very nice ALL THE TIME! Before Covid there were so many activities for everyone to participate in, my mom is looking forward to getting back to that. Speaking of Covid they have gone above and beyond to keep everyone safe and are continuing to do so. I highly recommended Shorehaven, it is a great place.

My mom has been at Shorehaven for about 1-1-2 years. We knew this was the place we could put our trust in to care for our mom the minute we met the Sales Director, Heather. What they say about first impressions holds true. Heather has always been there since the beginning to guide us and direct us when we have concerns. She has definitely been an extension of our family. She cares about my mom as much as we do. So this shows that no matter the level of individual at Shorehaven they look out for your loved one when you cant. Our mom has been a resident for 3 years at Shorehaven and truly considers it as her home. She has made new friends and participated in activities that are entertaining and fun-filled. We knew we could trust their guidance in March when precautions needed to be taken. The staff has shown extreme concern for the safety and well-being of residents throughout the Covid epidemic. Their reassuring and caring attitudes have helped ease any loneliness and concerns the elders might be feeling. One of the directors, Heather Nicolovski, has demonstrated exemplary modeling of positive and cooperative behaviors. She is the go-to person for residents and is patient and kind with all people. Other staff follow her example and make these trying times tolerable. They have created a family atmosphere that is caring, loving, and unforgetttable. Thank you to all Shorehaven caregivers!

Shorehaven has been a blessing for us. My mom has lived there for two years. The staff goes above and beyond to care for the residents. Heather Nikolovski is an absolute angel, she is like having family there with my mom. We have been able to take a vacation without worry knowing that my mom was safe. The activities, meals and services are all a plus along with the beautiful grounds the building is surrounded by. My mom loves to walk along the water and watch the wildlife.

Our parents moved in to Shorehaven almost 3 years ago. It was big change for mom and dad as well as us kids. Weve been through a lot in these 3 years. Lost dad in January 2020 and mom has severe memory loss. The staff at Shorehaven has been amazing. I love that they know mom. They know she loves tea and jewelry and always compliment her on her beautiful outfits. Mom feels this is her home, now. Thats no easy accomplishment. Shorehaven staff members are compassionate and kind to their residents treating them as family members.During Covid 19 the staff responded quickly to ensure the safety of their residents and continue to do so.Knowing how much their many activities mean to the residents they have been creative in promoting bingo, card games etc. in smaller groups at safe distances.They also had a wonderful car parade for Mothers Day where family could decorate their cars to spread cheer and smiles!Shorehaven is a community where seniors are known and have their needs met with genuine consideration. Our Mom has had many social opportunities to meet new friends and is comfortable in her surroundings.

Shorehaven Sterling Heights always has fun activities and events planned, it definitely keeps my Gram busy and social (which she loves). We have always had great interactions with the staff there when we visit, and I love that they know my Grandma and treat her well.Plus, during this crazy time in the world, Shorehaven has helped us stay in touch with our Grandma, while we are unable to be there with her. I moved into Shorehaven 7 months ago after some coaxing from my doctor and children. I was no longer able to drive and was getting depressed at home. When I walked into Shorehaven, it just felt like home. Everyone was so kind to myself and one another. While the staff are like family to me, the part I love the most is my new friends and social agenda. I have so much to do! Its been years since Ive gone to the theater or golfing but the team at Shorehaven makes everything possible for us again. There have been a few times Ive had to ask my kids to come another time so they wouldnt disrupt my event schedule with my friends. My apartment is cozy with a beautiful balcony. The dining team has a lot of options for me and the housekeeping team keeps the community spotless. The grounds are beautiful and now that the weather is nice, my friends and I have a bottle of wine at the credenza, on the water. I should have done this sooner.

The staff takes excellent care of my mom. She has no complaints about the facility. Shes been on a couple outings, and they can accommodate doctor visits. The food is restaurant quality. There are laundry rooms available. I cant say enough good about the the level of concern. Before i chose Atria, i visited 10 places in the area. I tried to consider what my mom would want when looking. My mom was in a car accident. She went from the hospital to rehab to her new apartment. Her house was too dangerous for her to be there alone. Atria Shorehaven takes care of her like she needs and deserves. I hope this helps.

Atria Shorehaven saved my aunt's life when she had a stroke! An alert staff member caught it as it was happening and called 911. After two days in the hospital and a small amount of physical therapy, she is back in her apartment at the facility and we are very happy! Great staff that KNOWS each resident as an individual and watches out for them. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! The services are incredible, but the caring and attentive staff even beat that! It's nice to walk down the halls and see that each of the staff members, (no matter if it's office, med team , housekeeping, food services, etc.) will greet each resident by name. Lydia runs a tight ship and always has a hug and a kind word. Great group ~

My Dad reluctantly looked at senior living communities with me over the course of the past year or so. There were a lot of options to navigate through! Dad has always had newer homes so, while more expensive, he seemed more inclined towards the newer constructions....until he visited Shorehaven. We walked in the doors and before I could comment, he told me, "look how many men there are here!" I don't think we had see even one at the others! Shorehaven has such a large, active group of men that my dad suddenly cared about fellowship and friends over granite and chandiliers. He moved in two weeks later and two months later, I can write this saying my father is a new man. He was so worried I was trying to find him "a home to die in" that he never would expected that "he picked out" a place to truly live again. He's so busy doing activities that I have to plan my visits lest I get blown off 🙂 He loves all the food choices for meals and the quality. The best part, in my eyes, are the people. Everyone genuinely cares about him and when I can't be there, I know he's more than just a number to them. I'd recommend Shorehaven a million times over.

I really love the Atria Shorehaven Senior Living facility! Everyone is so nice and friendly and the food and activities are wonderful too. I would like to mention that one of my favorite employees at Atria Shorehaven is Vera Nikollat! Vera delivers my morning newspaper EARLY so I can enjoy my first cup of coffee at 7am as I am reading it. . She is always busy cleaning hallways, meeting rooms, and the main entrance living room and greets everyone with her smile and a big hug always.
