Thank you for the opportunity to submit a review for Help In Home. We reached out to HIH when our mother's needs grew beyond what we could continue to provide. Steve Boyd assembled a magnificent team within days, which included an aide to stay overnight. This was a very welcomed relief to our entire family. All of the aides were loving and kind to mom, and we, as her children, felt very comfortable with the level of care she received from each of them. There were a few unexpected hospitalizations, which caused Steve to adapt the aides' schedules. He was always incredibly understanding and accommodating. Honestly, all of the aides became part of the family, and we are forever grateful for their devotion to mom and for always caring for her with the upmost dignity. I reached out to Help in Home after a medical emergency with my mom necessitated some lifestyle changes for both my parents which they were reluctant to make. Steve met with them in person to explain what Help in Home could do for them and was patient and attentive. My folks' experience with Help in Home helped them recognize the help gave them more freedom, not less, and smoothed their transition to assisted living. The employee who worked directly with my folks even drove two states away to help move my folks into that assisted living facility. They were all fantastic.

I can't recommend Help in Home enough. Having worked with several other agencies, Help in Home is far superior. At the introductory meeting, Steve Boyd has a gentle and caring demeanor that puts everyone at ease. Within a few minutes, it is clear Steve understands both the needs of the client and the abilities of his staff to meet those needs. A team is then assembled so that the client quickly gets to know them and feel comfortable and safe no matter which member of the team is working with them. When the needs change, Help in Home quickly steps up to the plate. With all the other worries there are in taking care of an elderly individual there is NEVER a worry with ANY of the Help in Home folks. They are gentle, caring, competent, encouraging and collaborative. They are wonderful in communicating any concerns, initiating ideas, following any instructions, and tracking any needs for their client. Help in Home is a five star company in a field filled with very few we were incredibly lucky to have found them.

Because it is a family-owned enterprise rather than a large corporation, you receive incredibly compassionate, patient and personalized service from owner Steve Boyd. He does the initial intake and personally matches a team of caregivers to meet your family member's needs. Caregivers are consistent, well-trained and experienced. Steve and his team bent over backwards to meet my father's 24-hour care needs on short notice. Steve was in daily contact with me. I cannot recommend Help in Home more highly!

Can't say enough about Steve and the team he put together to cover my Mom in the evening and overnight hours. The need for coverage during these hours came upon us suddenly and was rather urgent. Steve carefully listened to our concerns and asked a lot of excellent questions to obtain a good understanding of Mom's situation and personality. He quickly amassed a team that I called the 4c's. Good communicators, quite competent, and very compassionate. Overnight care is not the easiest role to fill but Steve's team filled it well so the 4th c is that they were consistently reliable. It gave my siblings and I incredible relief to know that Mom was in good hands!!!!

Over the ten months during which my mother was assisted by the aides at Help in Home, my family had a most positive experience. Steve, the owner, was always available, kind, and extremely accommodating. Our schedule was ever-changing and Steve would always find a way to meet our needs. My mother was somewhat of a challenging client, and the aides were always attentive and compassionate, going to great lengths to make sure she was cared for both physically and emotionally. I highly recommend Help in Home for the high-quality, reliable, compassionate in-home care they provide. They were a life saver to me when my Dad passed away suddenly and my mom, with dementia, needed care. First, almost round the clock in my home, then as companion and advocate when she moved into a facility. For 5 years I counted on them and they never let me down! Caregiver Louise especially is a godsend (I call her my mom's Guardian Angel). She went above and beyond, and was a true friend to my mom and my whole family! Truly a wonderful team at Help in Home.

Several years ago when searching for assistance for my mother, our family was very fortunate to find Help in Home. This company has enabled my elderly mother to stay in her own home. Both management and hands-on staff have been unfailingly helpful and professional. As my mother's needs have increased, Help in Home has worked with us to adjust my mother's care program to meet those needs. The health aides who have come to my mother's home have provided companionship, hands-on help with bathing, dressing, meals and much more. I have found all these aides to be compassionate and efficient and my Mom has greatly benefited from their wonderful care. For nearly three years we used Help in Home to assist with Dad's care. It began while Dad was still living in his own house and their service made it possible for him to remain there much longer than he could have otherwise. A caregiver, Louise, would visit him usually three times a week, do laundry and light housekeeping and then take him out to do shopping or something he enjoyed. They would make dinner and eat together, all the while telling stories and enjoying each others company. Dad looked forward to the days that Louise would come. She became an important part of all of our lives and truly a friend to Dad. Eventually, Dad needed to move to an assisted living facility. We asked Louise to continue her visits for the sake of the outings and especially the companionship. On many occasions things needed to be taken care of, things that ordinarily a family member would do but was unable to. Louise would take Dad to medical appointments and even handle aspects of his day to day business. She always kept us well informed, she handled things very competently and we trusted her completely. Everything about Help in Home and the service that Steve and Louise gave Dad was superior. They are thoroughly professional, trustworthy, and caring people. We felt so fortunate to have found them and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for this kind of care.

We have had Help in Home almost around the clock for the past year and a half. I couldn't be more pleased with the service provided to my aunt. The staff is very caring which allows me such peace of mind. Realizing my aunt is so well-cared for each day by people who go out of their way to be sure she is happy and thriving. Steve, the owner and organizer of the workforce, is a gem. He is always so flexible and understanding, always attentive to the needs to the client. This is the service I would hope to have in the event that I needed it.
