In a recent family meeting with leadership regarding my mother in law I was surprised how inexperienced/unknowledgeable management was regarding dementia care. My wife has struggled with management regarding her mother's care, getting issues resolved, questions answered (care and otherwise). Management even went so far as stating to my wife that maybe we should move my mother in law. Staff turnover is also high. However, my wife has stated that most CNA's, nurses and aides are very good with my mother in law.

The facility itself is nice. Problems I've had are other residents taking things from my mother's room and breaking them. Although Chisholm does take care of the expenses for these items still shouldn't happen.

My husband resides there but I’m moving him. The facility has gone down since new Ownership. Staff has quit, Cna’s & 2 chefs. Now, my husband doesn’t get breakfast on time & they are out of milk, cereal & bread to many times. They do not clean his room as they should & seldom check on him , even when he turns the call light on. Price would be reasonable if the services were good.

My father was accepted to Chisholm Place around the beginning of year 2025. The place has been a God Send ™ ™ Dementia is no Joke, we were constantly having trouble with finding the best solution through the Transition period of the mind. The Professor is very strong willed and his Safety became a big concern. The houses he originally was accepted to could not handle him anymore and St Joseph helped as long as they could. As I was searching for options his Sunflower worker (Mrs Acevedo)suggested looking at Chisholm Place. She put me in touch with Steve and he set the expectations of Staff, Services, and the programming for the the clients. Sara is the administrator and she and Steve are a Great Team. ‘ What I love about Chisholm is the abundance of Staff that cares for the Residents and the way they work as a Team to meet the needs of the Residents. My mother is Really Happy we found Chisholm for her husband. Every Time we leave after a visit she says he is in a Great Place ‘.

I was struggling to find an appropriate facility for my brother, a veteran, when a person from the VA recommended Chisholm Place in Wichita. I initially spoke with Steve Strain, who was wonderful in answering my questions and concerns, and then met with Sara Miller who guided me through the admissions process and the logistics of transferring my brother to their facility. After my brother's experiences in 2 previous care homes, and after visiting numerous other facilities, finding Chisholm Place was a blessing; it is difficult to express how relieved I am that he now resides there. My brother can sometimes be quite a handful, but the entire staff““ aides, dining hall staff, nurses““manage his behaviors with compassion, respect, and the utmost professionalism. The nursing staff, especially Michon, Renee, and Breanna, have been so conscientious in providing for my brother's health care and coordinating care with the VA. When I first called Chisholm Place and spoke with Rachel, their receptionist, I got the feeling that the facility was a positive and welcoming place, and now I know that for a fact! I whole-heartedly recommend Chisholm Place to anyone searching for a care facility for their loved one. Beth G.

My mom, Jeanette, was at Chisholm Place for six months and the care received there was wonderful. The Nurses & CNA were wonderful coming and checking on her constantly if we needed something they helped me get a hold of the right person wether it was a Nurse on staff of wether it was Hopsice Nurse. They had several activities for the her & residents. Jordan, Faith, & Rachel were planning things for them such as bringing in ponies, painting flower pots, cups, or singing & dancing in their wheelchairs. It was amazing and helped her thru her pain and kept her mind occupied. The Nurses Lucille, Machonda and others would come in early and check to see how she was doing and sit and talk to her after each time she gave her meds. The CNAs Cherokee, Lulu, Lorna, Ashley were the best in getting her dressed & showered and ready for the day. Over all very happy with the care at Chisholm for what they did for us. I couldn’t ask for any better care for her till she passed I felt like we were all one big family there striving for the same care.

Chisholm Place did an awesome job taking care of my father in law, Sweet Baby Ray as one of the nursing staff called him. We miss him tremendously but know he's in heaven with mom. They made his transition along with the help of Hospice staff as peaceful as could be. So thankful to all of the staff, we know dad settled into Chisholm very easily and really thought it was home. My father in law was a resident at Chisholm Place recently. My wife felt very comfortable with her Dad living here. The Director,Sarah Miller was very personable and informative. She is visible throughout the day and knows the residents by name. The nursing staff took very good care of my father in law. They knew his whereabouts all day and treated him with dignity and respect. Lorena, Ashley, Lauren, Cherokee, Cheyenne, and so many more CNAs and CMAs were wonderful with him. They went above and beyond with their gentle care and attention to his needs even on the day of his passing. The Directors of Nursing Tomika, Jodi and Ed the newest director have high expectations and their staff rise to excel and provide professional care. The dietary assistant, Taylor was kind and meet my father in law's need in the dining room. She was very kind and attentive. Patsy's laundry team keep him well dressed with clean laundry and bedding. If something was missing she made an attempt to recover the item. My family was very pleased and comfortable with my father in law's residency and care at Chisholm Place from the minute we walked in the door. We appreciate them for caring for and loving our "Papo".

We selected Chisholm Place for our mother in early 2024 after an extensive search of Wichita area memory care facilities. The facility itself is modern, clean and well maintained. The executive director (Sara Miller) is fantastic to work with. She always makes herself available to talk through any issues that arise, and follows through to make sure they are resolved. She is always very pleasant and welcoming, as is Steve Strain, the Community Relations Director. The staff works very hard to involve and motivate the residents to the extent possible for each. In my mothers case she is very uncomfortable outside of her room, and while the activities team regularly tries to get her to socialize, they are very accommodating to her desire to stay in her room. The dining facility is large and comfortable, and the menu is extensive, with regularly planned meals, and and "available any time" menu as well. The nursing staff is caring and consistent. We have had issues with our mother not taking her meds and even hiding them. We have been able to work with the nursing staff to devise ways to make sure she is taking the meds, though there are occasional minor issues. Staff turnover is of some concern at Chisholm as it is in most facilities of this type. This seems to be more with the aides as the management team has been highly consistent over the past 18 months. The entire staff is routinely very pleasant and excellent in their interactions with the residents. That tells us that there are every high standards set, taught and required by the management. Overall i would recommend Chisholm very highly for anyone that needs to find a quality facility for a loved one challenged with memory issues. The peace of mind we have enjoyed knowing our mother is in a safe and caring environment is extremely comforting to our entire family.

We have been really happy with the care our father has received since moving into Chisholm Place about 8 months ago. We love that he has more of a home-like room than most other nursing homes offer. We were able to furnish his room with his recliner, bed, and decorations from home so he feels more like he lives in an apartment than a hospital room. Ashley, Cherokee, Lorena, LuLu, Missy, Katrina, Lucile, and the rest of nursing staff enjoy hearing his daily jokes and encourage his ornery demeanor by even bringing him M&Ms with his medicine. He has been more active and stimulated mentally and physically with their busy calendar of activities. Jordan, Hope, and the activities team work hard to keep him involved by doing crafts, games, music, exercises, and even taking field trips out of the facility when he is feeling up to it. His favorite activities are all of the therapy animals that come in. Rachel and the front desk staff are always helpful. The cook Jeff, Taylor, Jayme, and the kitchen staff work hard to spoil him with his always requested hot chocolate, dessert with every meal, and he is able to order other options if he doesn't like what is on the menu for the day. He is a fall risk and has an extensive medical history but we feel like he is kept safe but also given freedom to live out his daily life. The physical therapy on site and in house medical staff have kept a close eye on him and improved his health from where he was when we moved him there from a different nursing home. The fact that everyone is trained to work with patients with dementia and/or recovering from a TBI is evident and a big benefit to this memory care facility. It is incredibly hard to move a loved one into a care facility but they have made us feel at ease and able to make the process easier to handle. We can never know what turns someone's health can take but we believe that they will be able to handle all of those areas of care and help us keep him safe and happy.

Chisholm Place is a nice welcoming environment. The first welcoming face you see is Rachel! Whether walking in or calling on the phone she is always pleasant and very helpful! Willing to listen and make sure you and your loved one(s) are taken care of. All the nurses we have come in contact with, knew my parents name and were very sweet to them myself. Whenever I have a question, Sara answers my questions, thoughtfully, and promptly. And, if there’s been a change in plans, Steve is there to make sure what needs to be done is done! Overall, I am well pleased, and thankful my parents are in good hands!

My experience with Chisholm Place in Wichita was what I had been searching for, for almost a year. My dads dementia was pretty severe and after a 5 week stay at our local hospital, we were desperately searching for a place to finally call his home away from home. Unfortunately, we were forced to send him to a different place due to timing. Steve at Chisholm Place offered a room for him, but the hospital was not willing to keep him for 3 additional days in order to allow him to be at Chisholm Place. I received 3 phone calls from Steve at Chisholm Place throughout the process, which impressed me so much. He called to check on how things were going with my dad at the other place and said he would check in again. That following week, I visited my dad and left in tears and drove straight to Chisholm Place. Steve and his staff comforted me and said they would love to have my dad at their place. We set the ball in motion with paperwork and getting his room set up. They made the whole process go seamlessly. Sadly, my dad ended up in the hospital and passed away before ever getting to be a resident at Chisholm Place. After his death, Chisholm Place sent a beautiful gift to my mom in memory of my dad. Steve has also reached out since then. Our family is blessed by their kindness and I will truly never forget our experience with them. Look no further, because without a doubt this is an amazing place!

I am so grateful for Chisholm Place. They are caring, loving and show an active attempt to show their dedication to the residents safety and care. My sister has been a resident for 7 months or so and during that time there have been ups and downs, however every concern has been reacted to quickly and efficiently. Andrea, an aide has been especially kind and caring to both me and my sister! I am grateful for all of the staff, nurses and aides, this is a hard job!

My aunt has been a resident at Chisholm Place for about 7 months. During the transition, the staff was very sensitive and caring to help and support my family during a very difficult time. Over the past months there have certainly been challenges, but the care team actively listens and works to customize the care plan specific to my aunt's needs. I live out of town and am not able to visit regularly. I am grateful for the support my mom receives when I can't be there.

Chisholm Place has been a blessing to our family. I visited many memory care residential facilities before making the difficult decision that I could no longer meet my husband's needs at home. I felt led to Chisholm Place and that decision has been positively reinforced many times over. This is a loving, caring community with staff and administration tuned into individual needs and adapting to meet those needs. I have many times personally witnessed the staff reacting with kindness and using the skills of redirecting to keep everyone calm and safe in the community. The staff has truly been "rock star" heroes during Covid quarantine when outside visitors came to an abrupt halt. They spend individual one-on-one time in each resident's room and provide plentiful opportunities for virtual and/or window visits for family. No placement is perfect, but Chisholm Place strives to be the best possible.

Our mother has been a member of the Chisholm Place community for a little over a year now. I can honestly say we have no reservations about her moving there and have been extremely pleased with the care she has received. The staff honestly cares about the residents. The past year has been extremely rough with not being able to see her due to COVID restrictions, and I am truly grateful to know that her needs are being taken care of. I would highly recommend Chisholm Place to anyone looking for a memory care facility for their loved one.

My mother has been in Chisholm Place for 1 1/2 years now. We have been very pleased with how they're taking care of my mother. Communication is good with staff and family. There is always going to be some challenges but when you get them resolved fast it is to everyone 's benefit. Food is improving for the residents which is good since that is very important part of their day.

I could write pages of superlatives! Suffice it to say... absolutely fantastic, compassionate and caring staff, as well as a beautiful, bright, and well-appointed facility that is more reminiscent of a refined hotel than anything else... absolutely does not have that 'nursing home' vibe, whatsoever, just... home. Amazingly, it's also what we found to be the best pricing around. Period. We whole-heartedly, and without hesitation, recommend Chisholm Place!
