While touring numerous care facilities, one morning I stopped by Brookdale Dementia and Alzheimer’s Care, I immediately felt this was a good place to care for my loved one. Over several years, I have observed Brookdale staff interact with residents; they display such kindness and patience toward all residents that it makes me feel comfortable knowing my brother is being cared for in the same manner. I also appreciate the prompt personal contact when a situation arises and weekly newsletter keeping all loved ones informed. Recently they have started a Memory Care Support Group. It is important to keep our loved ones engaged. A daily agenda lists various types of activities. Most afternoons residents enjoy a light snack followed by music in the game room. Familiar songs are played with lyrics displayed on screen. You would be surprised to hear most everyone singing and swaying along. It is a pleasure to sing with them.

After my dad passed away in October, we felt Brookdale was the best place for my mother. The staff truly cares”not just for her, but for all the residents. I really enjoy seeing how they interact with everyone; their kindness is genuine. Just last week, my mom had about five family members visiting. One of the staff members stopped by, noticed the gathering, and came back shortly with ice cream for everyone. It’s those small, thoughtful gestures that make such a meaningful difference.

We all have or know someone with a dementia / alzheimers story . Everyone’s story is different. The staff at Brookdale East have from the start been, first of all compassionate but also professional in their care and have shown that the residents are individuals that deserve patience and dignity . It began with Rick showing us around and explaining things to Jennifer taking time to listen to our specific concerns, to Colleen walking mom around outside on her first nite here, to Taylor putting water in the bird bath outside her window. As the family of a new resident we are very grateful for their care and experience.

Recently the activities director, Nicole and staff put together a beautiful Valentine dinner for residents and their "valentine". It was fabulous and the amount of time and thought that went into the evening was impressive. I'm impressed with the dedicated staff EVERY time I visit.

I just recently moved my mom from Assisted Living to Brookdale memory care. I checked several other locations but all of them seemed like no activities we're going on at all. When I was at Brookdale it was like a party was happening right then and there! Since my mom has moved in her attitude has improved significantly. She is happy and laughing. And so far we have not found her sitting in wet clothing as happened all the time at the assisted living facility. In the past two moves from Independent Living to Assisted Living, my mom would say over and over that she just wanted to go home. That has not been the case with Brookdale. I would strongly recommend Brookdale Memory Care for anyone needing a wonderful place for their loved one. I am certain they will see a great difference in their loved ones attitude and level of care!

Brookdale is a wonderful senior living community for loved ones needing memory care. There is a high quality and loving staff there that take good care of the residents. They are intentional in developing meaningful relationships with them right from the beginning of their admission, that eases the stress of leaving their homes and lives as they move into this next stage of life. Wonderful activities are also provided for the residents that are enjoyable and engaging, and promote community. Brookdale is not just a memory care facility for those in need of care. It is a quality care community where staff and residents become extended family and where the residents are comfortable and feel at home. All of these things also make the transition easier for the families of residents as well, as they entrust their loved ones into Brookdale's care.

After searching unsuccessfully for a safe and nurturing environment for my loved one who has dementia, I visited Brookdale East. Their representative, Rick, is a person who loves his job, and the people with whom he interacts. He answers every question, addresses every concern, makes helpful suggestions. The head nurse, Debra, loves the residents under her care. She meticulously collects the information necessary to the care of the residents and supervises that care. The administrator, Jennifer, makes herself available and is a problem solver. I have observed the employees to be friendly and compassionate. All involved have helped to make this very difficult transition easier. If you are facing a similar transition for your loved one, I highly recommend Brookdale East.

Wow, what an awesome response from Brookdale on 21st st. Wichita, KS, on our very first contact! Very impressive & very rare. Called & got an employee who was courteous, compassionate, well informed. She gave info, ans questions & scheduled us for tour. Afterwards, we received a confirmation email & Rick from the facility called us personally! They also provide a great informative workbook for consumers to use to help navigate the journey, whether you choose Brookdale or not. Beyond impressive! (A well known facility up the street never contacted us back, after a website submission AND a phone call.) I've been in healthcare 37 years, for profit, non-profit, middle/upper mgmt. THIS is the way to manage & lead a business. I'd trust Brookdale to take great care of my Mom.

My mother came to Brookdale East Wichita after having lived at two previous assisted livings. She lived at Brookdale for six months before she passed and I had never seen her happier!! She enjoyed the staff members visiting her room each day, the wonderful activities that definitely stimulated her brain daily, the awesome medical care she received, the performers, therapy pets, etc. that visited the residents weekly, but most of all mom loved the wonderful care and attention she received there!! She was treated like family and she loved everyone she came in contact with. Brookdale was a true blessing for our family!!
