Elison is truly an amazing facility that goes above and beyond to provide a welcoming and supportive environment for its residents. Not only are the facilities top-notch, but the staff is also incredibly friendly and always willing to lend a helping hand. One of the standout features of Elise is its marketing team, who continuously work to organize events and senior fairs to keep residents in touch with the various services available to them in the community. This not only helps residents stay connected and informed, but it also shows the dedication and commitment of the facility to the well-being of its residents. The marketing team at Elise truly goes above and beyond to make sure the residents are well taken care of and have access to all the resources they need to live a happy and fulfilling life.

I had the pleasure of touring Elison Independent Living with Owen, and had a lovely visit. The lobby is beautiful and welcoming! Apartments are spacious. The activities are very well planned. Residents frequent the indoor warm water pool; perfect size for a pool party! The staff and residents all seem very happy. Great place to live!

I had the opportunity to visit Elison of Niles to see their live entertainment and it was really good. They have a swimming pool, a library, a hair salon and physical therapy. If I would someday need to move to a Senior Community this will be on top of my list.

staff is extremely good, building maintenance is only fair. Plumbing problems are common- sometimes leaving residents without water for periods of time,. Roof leaks badly in in the atrium and has for at least 5 years without being fixed. When it rains you often have 10+ buckets in the atrium. Grounds are atrocious - 2 huge mud pits that used to be reed beds in front of the building. Only part of the grounds maintained is in front of the building itself. The worst problem is the food. Quality and variety has steadily declined through the last two owners (including Elison). Menu choices and quality have declined since I've been a resident. Fried egg sandwiches for lunch, hot dogs, polish sausage for dinner. A 5 year+ resident

I am submitting this review for a resident who has lived at Elison for 9 years. "After living at Elison for nearly 9 years I am positive that this is the right place for me to spend the rest of my life. My apartment is bright and lived in with my personal things. The housekeeping and laundry services are done extremely well and right on time. I can partake of the activities, entertainment and other options available or just stay in my apartment and knit, read, or watch TV. The people who work here are friendly, helpful, and available. All necessary with my age and limitations. The bus service is available for errands , shopping and entertainment, and if I take a bit of time getting there , our Driver makes sure I get home. Then there is a lovely patio garden ... I really did get the right place for me. ... Wendi"

Elison of Niles is a wonderful independent living community with quality facilities, residences, and amenities. The staff is top notch and knowledgeable; they connect you to necessary services as needed. Food at the dining hall is always delicious and perfectly portioned; wait staff is friendly and kind. Above of all, the quality of care is impeccable, with much dignity and respect for the residents couple with a nurturing positive atmosphere. The entire staff from our coordinator Owen, to directors Vishal, Anita, front desk staff Itzy and crew, Chef Dennis, and the resident welcoming committee - EVERYONE has made the transition such a warm experience. We are so grateful to have found the Elison community.

I can not say enough to give gratitude to finding Elison recently and successfully moving my mother in this past February. Transitioning her to consider moving into Independent Living was not easy (a 10 year process) but when I took her to do a tour at in December, she immediately fell in love with the facility, the people, the staff, the residents, just everything! I live in CA where I can't be immediately available to her and emergency needs... so it is without a doubt that her being there, under the watchful and caring eyes of the staff provide me with much comfort! The facilities and apartments are exceptional! I've stayed and enjoyed a few meals as well when visiting and would consider for myself, if I were to move back to the Chicago area. Thank you Elison, I couldn't be more happier with how you've made a home for my mom!

Yes, the services, facilities, and food are all very good; but Id like to focus on the people first. Embark has a team of caring, compassionate and competent staff members. My Mother is a resident and she does need some extra care - so we have used their Here For You service. We know that this time period is very challenging and since the staff members represent the majority of the residents personal interactions, knowing they are being cared for by people with friendly attitudes and caring dispositions is so important to family members. The facility is always clean when we visit - and the team does a great job of communication. They are very responsive when we reach out to ask questions and that is very important to us. My mother also comments about how the food is always good. She is able to choose her menu and they have done a great job of providing meal services while also keeping the safety of the residents a top priority. I would highly recommend Embark at Niles.

The entire staff including the dining room, front reception, housekeeping, and office staff all do a great job, They are friendly and do whatever they can to help the residents. Also, the food is good, the apartments are nice, the facilities are well maintained and the entertainment and activities (prior to Covid) are excellent. My dad has lived at Embark for 3 years and we are all happy with our decision.

In August of 2016 my 99 year old Mother was forced to move out of her beloved condo. Medicare allowed me 24 hours to permanently move her to a new facility. Embark is the best decision Ive ever made for my Mother. Throughout those years what stated out as independent living for Mom rapidly changed. Her mobility and memory declined and her needs vastly increased to todays state of total dependence. Along the way Marie Gurnik, Embarks Executive Director, and her staff has been second to none. Deirdre Alcantara, Embarks Administrator & Resident Services Director, has personally watched over and provided such a heartfelt support that I would have been totally lost without her guidance and all supports she has provided for Mom throughout these years. She personally insured that my Mothers care needs were met on a continual basis as her independence and health declined. I also would be very remiss if I did not single out the steadfast support of Mary Cole, RN Embarks Health & Wellness Coordinator. She has continually insured that my Mother receive the best medical services, totally coordinated with Moms doctor and been a guardian angel continually watching over her. There is no other place my Mothers life would have flourished over these last 4½ roller-coaster years. My whole family is so grateful to the entire Embark staff.

Embark at Niles has been a great community for me to live in. The staff here is amazing, they go out of their way to make my life as comfortable and easy. I feel welcomed every day, the staff at the reception desk always greet me with a smile and they know my name. The featured Here For You team is an asset to the community...if we need a little help with our daily activities the Here For You team is available for me to use. Food is great, especially the Sunday Brunch! The programs accommodate many interests with cultural presentations, music and dance performances, on weekends the community usually has live entertainment. We learn something new everyday and I feel like I am part of a lively community.

It was time and we wanted my aunt to be nearby so we could care for her, but she was in Louisiana and did not want to move. We finally convinced her to just visit before making her final decision and we had been so impressed (unbeknownst to her) with Embark at Niles that we had already left a deposit. She came to visit, we showed her a few places and the best was yet to come! Not only did she overwhelmingly choose Embark at Niles from her first impression (just like we did), but she moved in almost immediately. She loves it and has made so many friends....everyone was very friendly and they really embrace new residents. In fact, they assign a welcoming guide current resident to each new resident to ensure a welcoming experience. My aunt made new friends quickly and is very happy! The facilities are outstanding, especially for the current times and the winter months in our climate.....the individual apartments are all adjacent to the large atrium that provides an outdoor feeling because of the openness and spacious atmosphere. This atrium allows a view of the lobby and dining room from every floor and the frequent music events, performances, activities are still possible with social distancing because the residents can enjoy from all their balconies surrounding the atrium. This atrium not only provides a welcoming openness that is needed during these times, but it serves as a huge plus during winter months as residents can still walk (as if they were exercising outdoors) around while enjoying the view and activities below......a very unique benefit not available in most senior living environments. The dining room is very high quality and another social opportunity that helps residents stay engaged. One of my aunts biggest concerns was her strict diet and they were able to accommodate her needs with the variety and choices available. And now, during this social distancing period, they are even delivering meals to each apartment! One of the most difficult obstacles in this stage of life is avoiding the transition issues and isolation that can result from a move like this. Embark at Niles is uniquely qualified to keep our loved ones engaged, avoid feeling claustrophobic and providing additional years of engaging fulfillment in their lives! The management team and their staff exemplify all of the above as they are the ones providing these ongoing benefits.....not to mention, they have a remarkable track record of keeping everyone healthy during this crazy virus experience. This is an independent living facility, but you will always get support. Embark at Niles is a beautiful place for our loved ones......highly recommended as an independent living community!

I cannot say enough great things about how the management and employees have handled the COVID-19 crisis in a senior building. Every decision made was in the best interest and for the well being of their residents. I am the daughter of a resident that will be 100 years old and living independently at Embark. I was totally frightened about my Mom being there alone. But my fears were quickly mitigated with the correspondence and extra precautions quickly from Marie Gurnik-Executive Director, put into place to protect their fragile residents. IT ALL WORKED, as the building is safe and COVID free. The entire staff has been superb. I highly recommend Embark for your senior loved one. My Mom and the whole family are so grateful for them!!!!

My aunt has lived in the bldg for the last 4 years. Its been a VERY positive experience throughout the years. This even includes thru the transition from Brookdale. The new ownership was smart to retain key personnel. I have had the food there several times and have actually been VERY PLEASANTLY surprised and Im picky when it comes to my food! The recreation staff are always genuinely courteous and caring. During this Covid crisis, they have been STRICT and wisely so. New residents are being carefully quarantined. Prices are reasonable and no buy-ins. Theres nice views in virtually every direction and apartments are ample in size. Its a deal-come check it out!

Most of us came here from homes or condos. It is a new way of living and difficult at first to get used to, but if you join in the activities you will make new friends and learn to enjoy your new home. My Father in law has been living there for the last year and half. Honestly, its the best. He absolutely loves the community and the staff. The meals are great and the amenities are perfect for his needs. Hes still independent but we have the peace of mind, knowing that if an issue should ever arise hell be tended to immediately and with care. He is especially grateful for the staffs honesty. On two separate occasions he left money in his pants, after having them sent for laundry service. Both times, they delivered the clothing back as well as the money. That is seldom seen nowadays and its comforting to know that he wont be taken advantage of even if the opportunity presents itself. Thank you Embark.

I have lived in this building, Embark at Niles for more than 15 years. I am happy with all that the community offers. They have excellent activities with varied programs such as discussion groups, movies, monthly birthday celebrations, unique and interesting outings, great religious services above and beyond services for residents. We have the best visiting library and a convenient beauty salon on premises. The staff is excellent, always helpful with immediate answers and information.
