My parents are approaching their 2nd anniversary at Merrill Gardens and I felt it was a good time to share what a wonderful experience it has been for our family. The entire staff, from the tour to daily care, dining room, front desk, the general manager and daily activity has been beyond my expectations. I can honestly say it’s been a wonderful experience, the staff truly enjoys the residents and shows care and love daily. Merrill Gardens has provided exactly what I hoped for in senior care. THE BEST!!!

Prior to moving my husband into Garden House (Merrill Gardens memory care center), my husband was in a different facility across the road that did not properly care for him to the point of him getting injured and needing hospitalization and that was after being there for only a month. Since moving to Garden House, my husband is happy, he is gaining weight and properly being taken care of. Every time I visit all of the staff are helpful and happy to be there. All of the residents are happy and engaged in activities. Anytime I have a question or concern it is handled immediately. I don’t have to worry about him and can sleep at night knowing that he is being taken care of. Living with and caring for a loved one with dementia is the hardest task I’ve ever done in my life (it makes raising kids a breeze), I am so thankful for Garden House and their staff that provide amazing and loving care.

I want to publicly say how thankful I am for the loving care and support my Mom receives daily at Merrill Gardens in Woodstock. The level of professionalism they have shown is worthy of being recognized. The entire staff is wonderful and it feels so good knowing that many caring and intelligent people are watching over Mom when we cant be there. Our family moved my mom in over the weekend and I cannot rave enough about the experience. Pawel and John went above and beyond to help us, after we had a bad experience with movers. They made sure everything was connected and working in Mom’s apartment and were easy to find and answered questions quickly. And they got the heaviest of furniture out of the truck and into her apartment. Paula has been fabulous in finding the right apartment for Mom and making sure we had all our paperwork in order. She delivered a wonderful welcome basket and made a sign for Mom’s cats. The other staff has been extremely friendly and ready to help in any way. And the residents are happy and friendly and welcoming. The whole experience has been 5 star for us and we appreciate it so much. Thanks, MG staff - you’re the best!

I love this place. My mom has lived there for over 2 year.s The staff truly cares for and loves the residents The activities director and community relations director are wonderful! The Memory Care (Garden House) director ~ Susan is exceptional. She and her staff take care of my mom like shes their own. You cannot put a price tag on good care, a beautiful facility and caring staff.

Ive worked at Merrill Gardens for almost a year now and the best thing about it by far is the residents. They brighten your day and seem genuinely happy living at MG. The staff treats the residents like family and the residents treat the staff like gold. MG is a safe, friendly, and fun place.

My father has been a resident at Merrill Gardens since May 2018 (about 10 months at this point). I cannot say enough good things about the facility as he is happy there and is exceptionally well run. The service is great and the staff all seem happy and responsive. Arthur is the general manager and runs it very well. He is never too busy to talk or discuss any issues that we may have. The home is clean and any service requests we have submitted have been resolved in an expedient manner within a couple of daysIf you are looking for a quality assisted living home for you or a parent, I cannot recommend this highly enough. The food is excellent and he staff keeps the residents engaged through their interactions and programs.

Merrill Gardens is a wonderful place to live. Everyone residents and caretakers has a smile on their faces and kind words to say. We have so many activities we have to choose what to participate in. Our library has over a thousand books. We have a theater with big screen where movies are shown 4 x week. They pull up Ga football games so we can watch them with friends and family. We have a masseuse on Thursdays. Beauty parlor opened Tuesday through Friday. Exercise room set up ready for classes or private use. We have an outside courtyard with tables and umbrellas and beautiful flowers year round. Our bus takes us shopping twice a week and to Dr appts twice week. It also takes us to church on Sundays. We are allowed to have our beloved dog or cat live with us. We have 3 choices of food to eat including salads main entrees desserts and sandwiches. All delicious with many changes in menu choices. . What more could you ask for?

From the minute you walk through the doors of Merrill Gardens, you feel welcome and at home. The open layout of the meeting areas encourages the residents to meet with friends and staff, play games, read books in the Book Nook, eat meals (at any time with their all day eating concept), exercise, and so much more. Smiling faces of the staff are always there to greet you, help you, or just chat with you. The apartments are spacious and comfortable. The health and happiness of each resident is their primary concern. Family members are always welcome and kept informed and know that the health, safety and well-being of their family member are Merrill Gardens top priorities. Unlike most assisted living residences that can feel cold and impersonal, Merrill Gardens feels more like a home surrounded by friends and family. I am very grateful that my mother has been a resident from the day it opened. Knowing that my mother is in a safe and loving environment is very comforting and a precious gift to her and to me that just keeps on giving.

Although the Assisted Living reviews are stellar, the Garden House Memory Care could improve on their communication. I have left voicemails asking for return calls that were not returned, and mail sent to my Mother never reached her even though I addressed it appropriately. Very nice facility but room for improvement.

My mother moved in at the end of last year and it was a blessing that has changed her life tremendously! After my Dad passed in March of 2016, we knew that having my Mom living alone would be tough. We hoped to move her in to Merrill Gardens ASAP. Unfortunately due to construction delays, it was a very long wait. Now after 6 months, I am happy to say my Mom has friends that look after each other and make every day something to look forward to. The facility is beautiful and the staff tries so hard to keep 100+ residents happy. I love knowing that my Mom is in good hands and that she is no longer isolated and bored.

My 92 year old mother in law moved to MGs after living 30+ years in SoCal. It was a difficult move initially, but she wanted to be closer to family. Mom is getting acquainted w, everyone, & beginning to feel acclimated to her new chapter in life.The facility is new, spacious, & beautifully appointed! Moms room has huge windows that allow plenty of sunlight to stream through, & she has a view of the lake.The staff is caring, responsive, & makes each resident feel at home.Oh...the dining room!!... The meals are prepared by a fabulous chef, & the dining room is open from 7:00am till 7:00 pm! The nicest facility Ive seen since I began my search last year for an independent living facility.

I recently moved my Mother into Merrill Gardens of Woodstock from MI and she has settled in very nicely. The reason? Its the staff and the beautiful facility. Everyone is so warm and friendly and made me feel welcome during the finding & moving in process; and they couldnt have been more welcoming to my Mom as well. There are many fun activities at Merrill Gardens and my Mom loves the Scrabble, Bridge, Bingo, Sing-a longs and is looking forward to seeing a movie in the huge beautiful theatre. Moms Studio apartment is lovely and the perfect size for her - it is actually quite big with much move around room. We cant say enough nice things about this beautiful new place!
