Where to start with perfection? Newly remodeled home! Home Manager, Mackenzie Rowe, clearly loves her job and is always willing to go the extra mile! Director LaRay Ramey, is the perfect example of putting others before yourself. If you are looking for a loving, homey, warm place for your loved one to spend his/her later years, look no further. Very individualized to the needs and wants of each resident.

My grandmother moved here in late 2019 after many years of independence. The staff made the transition extremely smooth, and even after Covid happened, they have worked diligently to make a difficult situation as easy to handle as possible. They have continued to find ways to keep my grandmother and the residents engaged but safe in the midst of this. I can honestly say that, since her arrival there, my grandmother has come out of a shell that she didnt even know she was in! The staff makes sure that she tries to stay active, and she also gets nutritious meals as well as special treats at her request. They keep her engaged to help with her memory, and - besides her blood relations - she has told me often that she truly feels loved and part of a bigger family there. Everyone I have met takes such a special interest in making sure their residents and family members are at ease. Having had a little prior experience, I so very much wish that more facilities were like this, and available to families in need. I dont know what we would have done without the care, compassion, and expertise that we have been blessed to find at Southern Haven of Dalton. MOST importantly, my grandmother truly feels like she is at home. A special thank you and shout-out to Dustin, Ellis, Annette, and SO many others who contribute to making this a time full of GOOD memories and lots of love.

I get the pleasure of working professionally with Southern Haven senior living home. As a hospice nurse for Tapestry Hospice, I get to see several patients in their personal homes or facilities. Southern Haven is wonderful. They provide exceptional care and love to all of their residents. Dustin always goes above and beyond to surround these sweet people with love. He, as well as the other employees, are often caught laughing with the residents or assisting them with their personal needs. The meals provided are homemade, and each patient is served in a timely manner. All of my patients have been clean and dry upon my arrival. The staff are very quick to inform my company with any needs or concerns about our patients. I love being able to leave this facility and know my patients are taken care of. I love all the sweet and compassionate caretakers that I have been able to work with.

I am so thankful my mom is at Southern Haven. The personal care and attention is excellent. The staff members go over and beyond to make sure each resident is loved and cared for according to their individual needs. They create a family, friendly atmosphere for everyone. I highly recommend Southern Haven, the management and staff have been a true blessing to our family!

We were blessed to find Southern Haven for Mom just before the Covid 19 lockdown. Of course no one knew at that time that a lockdown or a virus pandemic was on the horizon.Its the hardest thing to be separated and not allowed physical visits resulting in missing out on so much very precious time. We are truly comforted by positive feelings and knowledge that our Mom is well taken care of, well loved, well fed and happy where she is living.Southern Haven is different than the large facilities where she had resided previously. Southern Haven is small, its personal, the staff is caring and patient and it feels like home. She is encouraged to engage in various activities that suit her ability and peak her interest. She feels at home at Southern Haven and she is happy! Having peace of mind when it comes to her care, especially now during these uncertain times means more than you can imagine.We would definitely recommend Southern Haven.

My parents have been at Southern Haven for several years now. I have never had to worry about their care or being loved at the facility. After praying for the right place for them, the personal attentiveness they are given is why I chose Southern Haven. My dad passed away in March and the staff could not have been more helpful during that difficult time. If there is any change in their health or any information I should know they are quick to call, text or email to Inform us. Transitioning my parents to an assisted living home was a difficult decision but it was such a blessing to know they were and are in such a caring place. I highly recommend Southern Haven if you are looking for a great staff that truly loves and treats each resident as their own family.

For any relatives that need true assisted living for a loved one or couple, Sophie and her staff at Southern Haven are amazing. A small but fiercely protective cadre of women who have been working for Sophie for years with no turnover, deliver the utmost in care, friendship, home cooked meals, and most importantly, liaison with the family. This "home", set on beautiful rolling hills nestled above a lake and surrounded by tall Pines in Dalton, Georgia, was the ideal location for my mother. She had spent previous time in assisted living but did not have the ratios of personnel to residents nor the requisite attention essential for my peace of mind. This was achieved at Southern Haven and in fact exceeded my expectations. I would recommend Sophie and her facility for anyone wanting the best possible quality of life for their loved one.Thank you for taking care of my mother.

Southern Haven was the perfect place for my 97-year-old mother to live. The owner, Sophie, has created a safe, comfortable, and compassionate environment for the residents. Southern Haven does not feel like a facility it feels like a home, with a wonderful family atmosphere. The staff is caring, responsive, and affectionate. They treat the residents with dignity, and safety is of the utmost importance. Communication with the residents family is prompt when a need arises. My father-in-law has just moved into Southern Haven and loves it. Sophie and the staff have done so much to welcome him and make him feel comfortable in a new environment. I am most grateful to Sophie and all the caregivers at Southern Haven!
