Reviews Village Park of Alpharetta

Assisted living is fair if your standard is staying dry in the rain and enjoy assembling puzzles. Memory care is a something between a circus and Auschwitz with curtains. An endless population of memory care prospects and family members simply too tired to continue raising concerns keep this place out of a class action suit. When a loved passes, you are just "happy" to rid yourself of this place. Spend 5 or 10 minutes there and you will see for yourself.

My parents moved into Village Park in July of 2021, right in the middle of the pandemic. Barb and the consultant team helped us find a room, coordinate everything and make the move in seamless. They first moved into a large more independent apartment which was large and beautiful with a great kitchen and layout, but it proved to be too much for them. A year later, they downsized into a smaller one bedroom closer to the dining and nursing care. My mom's Alzheimer's progressed to the point where they needed to be separated after 63 years and she was moved to memory care. At one point we were concerned if she would be able to stay there and we were close to considering skilled nursing, but Marilyn Naswagi, the new Executive Director worked with our family and her staff to ensure my mom was well-cared for in memory care until she passed in August. She ensured that she, my dad and my family allowed her to live out her last days with dignity. My dad still lives in the same room and was fortunate to have picked up several new friends during that transition period and between dining with these friends (and sometimes staff like Marilyn and others) he is thriving as a widower. When I call him and he says "can't talk…i'm at Bingo" - I know he's doing great! Early on, Village Park struggled with some staffing challenges as the new wing filled up and since Marilyn and some other new staff have been on board, they have worked diligently to solve the staffing levels, dining experience, social activities and general resident AND staffing satisfaction. Two plus years later, her arrival has made a huge improvement. In the beginning, it was frustrating to deal with some billing issues and other items, but generally, my parents and now my dad solo have had a great, safe and enjoyable experience at Village Park Alpharetta. The office, dining, care and maintenance staff treat us and my dad with respect and always a smile.

Our family has had a positive experience with Village Park Alpharetta over the past two years. Despite some initial staffing challenges, our overall journey with this assisted living facility has been noteworthy. Nearly a year ago, a new executive director took charge, bringing about significant positive changes. The impact was immediately noticeable, with improvements not just in staffing but also in the overall culture of the facility. Department leaders became more empowered and caring, attracting dedicated caregivers and energizing those already in place. What stood out the most was the personal touch of the executive director, who not only knew my parents but genuinely cared about their happiness and well-being. This personal connection created a more compassionate atmosphere that positively influenced the entire facility. Last fall, when my mother was hospitalized, both the executive director and the wellness director paid her a visit in rehabilitation, showcasing their commitment to the residents' well-being. Additionally, whenever we've had issues – which have been minimal – the leadership team at Village Park Alpharetta has been exceptionally responsive. In summary, the positive changes implemented by the new leadership have significantly enhanced our experience at Village Park Alpharetta. We are grateful for the caring and dedicated staff who have made this facility a home for our parents, and we feel confident in the quality of care provided. Our family highly recommends Village Park Alpharetta to those seeking a supportive and compassionate assisted living community.

My mother has lived in Village park for 2 1/2 years and we could not be happier with her experience. The staff is very accomodating and takes personal interest in her health and experience. Well done Village Park!
February 2024
Moving to Village Park was such an emotionally challenging time for my parents. Yet the administration, staff bent over backwards, and continue to do so, for my late father and for my mother. The courtesy to patiently explain issues which arise, the accomodation during the time my fathers failing health kept my mother "home-bound" required additional support which was provided. The units are spacious, the common space clean, the respective department staffs always helpful and kind. Administration has been outstanding working with me on questions and/or concerns to assure I felt my parents were and my mother remains safe and supported in an environment which understands the challenges of aging and loss. I am so pleased of the many communities I explored to make this decision last summer, I selected Village Park.

We looked at over 20 places before my parents moved here in 2021 and Village Park Alpharetta came out on top just ahead of Village Park Milton. The experience has been very positive. The food is very good most of the time (and I have eaten with my parents frequently). The new ED Marilyn has made great improvements across the board and staff has been more constant. CNAs are caring, kind and patient and were suburb in my mother's final months. Memory care is attentive to its residents and caring. The attention staff members, and other residents, gave to my Dad as a new widower has been immensely helpful. Residents are friendly and welcoming and my Dad enjoys the interaction with them. Surprised by some of the very negative reviews. No place is perfect but our experience is that our concerns are quickly addressed and resolved.

I moved my mom into this facility and we LOVE everyone! The staff are awesome and so patient... This was an emotional move for my mom... she left the home that she loves and my dad just passed away last year so I was concerned she would feel "alone". She is so happy with her new friends, the staff are so kind and she LOVES the food! I highly recommend this location. I saw the negative reviews... the people they complained about are no longer working there.... 🙂 I am so at peace knowing my mom is being watched over with kindness and care and she is having fun!

My in-laws moved there 2 months ago. There has been a leak in the room that they don't know where is coming from; and, they have not provided any updates in more than 7 days. Mold and mildew could be growing and there is a hazard for people at their age. Where is building maintenance and health care/concern?

My mother moved into Village Park of Alpharetta the end of June. She previously lived in another assisted living in Alpharetta for almost four years. There is no comparison to where she lived then and Village Park of Alpharetta. She recently commented to me, I am so happy here! The residents welcomed my mother and began including her immediately. The nursing staff is wonderful..very attentive..administrators so efficient, always meeting our requests when needed. She loves the food and activities! I highly recommend considering this to be the next home for your loved one!

I definitely loved working here. The residents were sweet an loving. I was a housekeeper that job gave me purpose for two weeks. Then I was fired for being on phone talking to the person that was training me at the time. I know I wasnt a terrible housekeeper. I wasnt perfect either. I have rid of a pantry full of ants for a resident. Who was having issues. I took care of that for her. You want me to move a couch to get under it. I did that. You want me to stay over to help. I did that. I was fired with out getting warning. In covid season. Sure I set down on a couch with vacuum on. I tend to sit down to wrap the chord back on the vacuum. You know back problems an moving heavy objects will do that to a pearson. But I wasnt not working. I clean my rooms did my job an help the residents an any staff that needed. You guys need to come up with a write up system or something. I get georgia is an at well state. But man its covid season. I was there every day ready to work. An help the residents.

Village Park Alpharetta has been great for my parents! They live independently in a lovely private Bungalow on the property but still have a feeling of support and security from the warm, friendly staff who all make a point to know them personally. This has been a great source of comfort for me. They enjoy the meals and staff in the dining room and the rest of our family enjoy eating there with them as well. All their maintenance needs are met in a timely manner by staff they know. Overall they have found their expectations to be consistently met over the 7 months they have now lived there and I would highly recommend this beautiful community.

I have all great things to say about Village Park! My Mom loves her apartment, the activities are awesome, great food , but most of all, the caregivers are kind and attentive. She has made many friends at Village Park. The residents are lovely and fun.

My parents never received that much love and attention at home. So glad to see theyre in such great hands.
June 2019
Crazy how people can give this place even one bad review. This is the nicest and most well managed senior living facility Ive ever been to (and Ive been to a lot). It just opened and Ive had the best experience, they have another building in which I know people that have lived there and they had nothing but good things to say. Sad that people always jump to give bad reviews instead of good ones.
May 2019
My mother, suffering from advanced dementia and wheelchair bound, visited the Memorycare facility In their day program to see if she would do well. I was pleasantly surprised to see that she enjoyed the various activities and interacted really well with the staff. I am attracted to this facility because of the lower staff to patient ratio, the clean and beautiful appearance of all the areas, the large garden space and, most importantly, the pleasant and smiling staff.
May 2019
Village Park is beautiful, the food is excellent, the staff is unbelievably caring, and the management is professional and accommodating. I cannot imagine that anyone would give a rating with less than 5 Stars! My Mother is in Memory Care, and it is everything I hoped for and more. She gets her Meds on time, she gets real one-on-one staff engagement, the food is nutritious and tasty, her apartment is spacious and clean, and everyone CARES. I can sleep at night knowing she is in good hands. There is a Happy Hour every Friday with live music, good food, dancing, and lots of laughter. My Mother looks forward to it every week, and so do I (family is welcome and encouraged). Oh, did I mention that there are menu choices at each meal? If you dont like the Chefs daily selection, there are many other things to choose from. At my Moms previous facility, if you didnt like the food that was being served, you went without or I suppose you could get a peanut butter, jelly sandwich. At Village Park, there is always something good to eat. I love the way the staff always treats my Mother with big smiles, respect, and dignity. It is no wonder she smiles so much these days.
