My 91 year old father recently moved into Legacy Ridge in Alpharetta and I really can’t say enough good things about the facility and the staff. From the beginning, when I first toured the grounds, everyone was very informative, thoroughly explained everything to me and answer all of my questions. As with any change there are some growing pains, so my dad did have to get used to things but this was expected. The building is gorgeous and maintained well. The care staff tend to the residents and give the right amount of TLC that our elderly family members deserve. They provide wonderful amenities that help with a smooth transition from salon services, primary care that visits the facility which makes it super convenient and they set up plenty of activities for residents to take part in with one another. Stephen Miller, Beverly Alston, Kamesha Charles and the entire staff at Legacy Ridge really go above and beyond to make sure the residents here are well taken care of, and make themselves available.

Like most in this situation, moving my dad to an assisted living environment was not an easy decision. But I can say that 99% of the trauma was prior to the move. I visited many facilities in the area, and while some might have been fancier, Legacy Ridge was the perfect mix of size, friendly staff, and tasteful decor--all at a reasonable cost. The Legacy team made my dad feel welcome, and within a week or two of the move, my dad had settled into a routine and began to think of Legacy Ridge as home. We are now two years in, and like most such facilities, there has been some staff turnover, but the management has always managed to fill those positions with equally caring and friendly employees. We continued to be happy with the team and feel fortunate to have selected Legacy Ridge.

The Service and overall support have been excellent. The Staff is always courteous and willing to help. My family member, who is a resident, has nothing but good things to say, especially for the Activities Director and Maintenance man who she says are the "BEST''.

My mom for years resisted going to assisted living, and now that she is at Legacy Ridge Alpharetta, she would never leave. Her physical, emotional and spiritual health has improved as a result of being at Legacy Ridge. She loves the staff the clientele, the activities, her room and the social activities. Anyone looking for a safe, affordable home for their parent should consider Legacy Ridge.

Legacy Ridge has been a lifesaver and game changer for our family. We moved our dad from out of state to a memory care facility down the street and it was a horrible experience. Our dad was mistreated, neglected and not getting his meds which only exacerbated his dementia. We had no idea what to expect when we came to Legacy Ridge and have been completely blown away. This staff is so well trained and equipped with how to deal with dementia patients. Their patience and creative out of the box thinking is not easy to find in Memory Care. He has not missed 1 med dose nor asked to come home which is night/day difference. They are incredibly responsive regarding communications and truly desire to partner with the families they serve. We leave every day knowing he is in excellent care with people who know this disease is not this man and as a result, they bring out the very best in him, and we do not worry anymore of his safety and how he is being treated. The management here is second to none! We cannot say enough about Legacy Ridge, their staff and the quality of care, expertise and incredible communication they provide.

My husband was brought here after a horrible experience at Village Park Milton Memory Care. We have learned that the beauty of the place is not as important as the staff who cares for my husband. He has only been here for 1 week but my interaction with the staff and management tells me that they truly try to meet the needs of the residents. The nurse Joy is hands on and you can call and leave a message and she calls you back within a reasonable time. Wayman the director is very accommodating to the family. I rated them 4 stars because I feel there is always room for improvement but we are so happy to have moved him here as this place was recommended to us for the staff care and so far it has proven right. The staff gets how to handle dementia patients and they are CNA's and not just companions at this facility. Very happy we are there!

If you are thinking on bringing your love one to this place please make a u turn and run for your life. Not even a place you want to work I use to be an employee here and I left because of management and poor staffing they have no workers to take care of the residents recently a resident choke to death due to understaffing and neglect only one Med tech and two caregivers were on duty with over thirty something residents. Caregivers are so disrespectful to residents, call lights are hidden from residents there was a time when they had remove a resident bed from the wall so that the resident wouldn’t be able to get to the call light to call for help. If you are planning on getting a job here and you have a second job to go to please this is not the place because there is no one to relieve you.you have to wait sometime one hour before they show up to work and at the same time they talking about no overtime that’s where their overtime going. Second shift is the worst shift to work the Medtech onthat shift all she does is sleep on those benches and use the cushions for pillows which is stink with mouth water. Let’s talk about the kitchen the second shift cook sits on kitchen counter where you have pots and plates kept. You also see kitchen staff hats, coats, and jacket place on rods where kitchen utensils are kept. Cheff in kitchen very sweet but sorry to say but needs to go Wellness Director you can’t address a problem to her she doesn’t care at all and not to mention the administrator he doesn’t care too. If there is a problem where we witness abuse we kept it to ourself because going to wellness Director or administrator nothing comes out of it corporate please get rid of those managements and save your company they are a disaster they all need to go surprising they exist this long. Caregivers are the ones that run this building not Drew Williams... managements needs to go this place need a entire wipe out.

The staff is knowledgeable, but, more importantly, the staff is sincerely kind and caring. I was so torn about putting my mother in a place, but I immediately felt like I had made the right decision. They did things to help my mom that made me cry because they were so sweet!

We recently moved my parents into the newly renovated Alto Senior Living in Alpharetta. It is such a lovely and comfortable place, with a friendly, caring and welcoming staff. My mom was not at all excited about making this move, but after less than a week she seems happy as can be! Check them out if you are looking for a smaller senior living community with a relaxed atmosphere. They offer a variety activities and services. And the food is quite good too!

This place is simply marvelous. We brought my grandma here and she was enamored with how friendly the staff was. I believe it was Mr. Trent Willis that left the biggest impression on her.

The building is truly magnificent after renovations, and their lifestyle director Trent really brings energy into the building. I was so impressed with some of his programs and infectious personality. The whole management team is a step up from what it use to be, and this building is number one on my list for when my grandparents transition to assistant living.

I want the team at Alto Senior Living to how deeply I appreciate the excellent customer service they provided to me and my family. Trent has been one of the best managers I have worked with, and not to mention how beautiful and clean the community was. When I initially visited the Alto senior living community the first thing I noticed was the beautiful decor and well-kept environment. My follow up visit showed me just how engaged and attentive the staff truly is; in particular the activities director Trent Willis. His interaction felt genuine and warm, like the residents were his flesh and blood and as someone that has been working retail the majority of his life I can appreciate that kind of attention and care.

I have been the Director of Resident Services in this community since December of 2018 and it has been such a heart warming experience to work alongside the associates and residents we have here. Allegro is a very innovative company that always pushes the next great idea for how to creatively care for their residents! I was instantly welcomed to this building and treated with the utmost respect. Our residents each have a unique story and I can't say enough about the level of care the family members have for their loved ones here. I have been truly inspired by the residents, associates, and the family members we have here at Alto of Alpharetta!

My mom reside at Alto Senior Living. And its a shame to see the way this place is running now they are using Agency to cover for workers thats not good workers and management are resigning all because of Jeannette Rogers, the administrator. And that nurse Sarah. I am about to take my mom out of this place I wish that nurse Michael Levengood would return back my mom love him so much he was surely a blessing to this place hes the only one that could change my mind. What is management doing they need to stop replying to these emails and attend to these patients and employees and hear their voices. I do not understand why they just sit back like that and not doing anything, unless they dont care. I totally agree administrator, and that Sarah needs to go I knew that Jeanneth Roger was so fake I can tell her poor workers are so intimidated by her actions. I am hoping Michael levengood would return those resident love and miss him so much I cant believe they replace him with a nurse that spend most of her time out of the building doesnt even know the residents never can find her I guess she spend most of her time at Starbucks as the above mention. I guess thats where I have to take my mom for her to be seen.

Five stars for Jeannette Rodgers, the Executive Director of Alto Senior Living. When my mother first moved to Charter (Now Alto) she was quite a "mess" with her negative attitude. Jeannette worked tirelessly to encourage and support my mother. At this time we see a whole new person with a positive outlook and attitude. Jeannette is one of the most caring and "tuned in" people I have ever met. She listens to family members regarding questions or concerns. She takes an active interest in the residents. She has a true heart for working with the senior care community. She is the leader by example of this community.

Alto’s director, Jeannette Rogers, is very qualified (two masters degrees) and is very compassionate towards the residents and families of Alto in Alpharetta. I believe her empathy is in part due to her own experience with caring for her grandmother that had Alzheimer’s Disease. The staff are very caring and have been wonderful to my mom and our family.

Cathy Barrett My dad has lived at Alto for almost 4 years and has thrived in this family like environment. The staff have demonstrated compassion when caring for him and any questions I had were resolved. I have worked in healthcare over 40 years and everthing may not be perfect but I know my dad is well taken care of I will continue to do my part in helping the community strive to provide a safe and caring home.

DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONE HERE AT THIS TIME. Below is my 5 star review from a year ago. I now wish to take it back and change it to 2 stars. Please read both reviews (before and after) below. May 23, 2017 - My mother has lived in a number of Assisted Living Facilities since her stroke in 2010. Our experience with Charter Senior Living of Alpharetta has far surpassed them all. Mom has never been happier and more content. And when she is happy, we are happy. The common areas at Charter are warm and homey and the activities are wonderful, with residents encouraged to take part. The facility itself is just the right size, allowing for better response times and attention to each resident. Lets be real though. Parents can be difficult and people are human. There is no perfect world. Having said that, I can honestly say when there have been issues, the management is very quick to respond and act. Everyone I know that works there comes from a place of personal experience, believing this work to be their calling. They treat Mom the way they would want their family to be treated, with dignity, respect and heart. These are the kind of people you want caring for your loved ones. July 7, 2018 - DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONE HERE AT THIS TIME! My family member has been a resident of Alto since it was known as Bickford, and then Charter Senior Living. We have been extremely pleased with the care given until Allegro Management took over in early 2018. Since then we are seeing a dramatic turnover in nursing, CNA and other staff. Wonderful gifted people who have been providing dedicated care for years are leaving. And new hires quit or dont show up for work. I believe one of the most important things in a senior citizens life is consistency, especially for those with memory issues. Being cared for by someone who knows them, their daily needs, likes and dislikes goes a long way towards providing them with the ultimate quality of life. I am holding on to hope that this facility could return to its original greatness, IF Allegro Management wakes up and fixes what is broken before its too late.

Caring for a loved one is back-breaking, emotionally draining work. It is not for everyone. Most families want to keep their loved ones at home. But as much as we love them its not realistic for all of us. It is great when you know what youre doing and have the strength and means to do it. Even under our care at home, our loved ones can easily fall, get scrapes and bruses, etc especially when we dont know what were doing. Sometimes love is not enough. The fact is, it takes a toll on even the most loving and caring person. Elderly parents need so much and so often their needs go unmet because they either dont or cant express their needs and even if one knows what their needs are, not everyone has the necessary knowlegde, stamina or the means to fulfill them. Those who have had to care for an elderly parent or other family member know what I mean. My father was independent and self reliant for so long. He hated the thought of being a burden to any of his children. At times I know he was embarrassed to ask for help and suffered in silence. However, he got to the point where he could no longer live alone and he didnt know if he could afford a place of his own that would also provide him the care and attention that he needed. When I went with him to visit and checkout various assisted living facilties, he immediately felt at home at Charter Senior Living. Something about the staff made him feel he could confide in them and they would understand. He also found kindred spirits among the other residents, people who could relate to him, something his children could not provide. The atmosphere and environment at Charter made him feel at home. Charter is not a large facility where residents can get lost easily or be forgotten. It also offered my father a place to live that he could afford. The staff closely monitored his situation and worked closely with me to determine his level of care and immediately made adjustments when necessary. I liked that I was able to visit often and even stay with him if necessay. Charter offered us flexibilty and allowed our family to be as involved in my fathers care as we wanted. They offer a variety of fun activities. We could even go with him on group outings. Caring for an elderly loved one is extremely challenging. It is impossible to describe the experience. In Charter we found professionals who understand these challenges and do their best to meet them.

4 Stars is a touch generous, maybe 3.7 or 3.8. First off, I would be skeptical of any all-positive reviews, whether of Charter or any other facility. This is a fast-moving and fast-growing industry, particularly around Alpharetta so there is lots of turmoil and turnover. That said we think the staff and admin does a pretty good job. PROs: nice atmosphere and decor, love the sunroom. Staff and admin are engaged and know everyones names. Jeannette makes a real effort to relate, accommodate, and know her residents and is always ready to listen. Good activities for assisted living, not as much for Legacy (dementia unit). SO-SO: Food is adequate-good. Assisted Dining Room has one chef-prepared meal each time slot with some choices, plus sandwich-burgers with notice. Legacy gets same prepared meal but no choice (in fairness some of them cant feed themselves and its a struggle for the staff so its kinda glopped on the plate). Medication dispensing is a little haphazard, with confusion as to who-where prescriptions should be filled (run out even though all this was set up and clear when my parents arrived in January). CONs: Could use more attention to room cleanliness, adequate supplies (we had to tell them No Toilet Paper). Seems a little short-staffed but they do make an effort. OVERALL: this place is above-average in expense but not top-dollar. Mom and Dad seem reasonably satisfied with the situation, and adaptation has been slow but seems to be improving. I think the score is a pretty accurate reflection of what you can expect in a facility at this level of size and expense.

Charter Senior Living of Alpharetta is all about that "homey" feeling. The facility felt so right the moment I walked in. I moved my mother in January and was sure she wouldn't adapt. Within two weeks she was engaged and I credit the staff with the successful transition! Everyone knew her name, made sure she got to activities and just made her feel at home. She had been moved here from her home of over 40 years, from another State, and after living with me (her daughter) for a year! She has settled into her apartment and has met some awesome ladies that she eats with every day. I realize that no place is perfect but I gave this place five stars because it is the best place for my Mom and she is content and I am thrilled to know she has such caring individuals to make sure her needs are being met!
