Yesterday was our first visit to Chapters since they have changed management. As a hospice partner, we’ve seen positive changes since the transition to Chapters. Communication is strong, the staff is compassionate, and there’s a clear focus on quality, resident-centered care. We value our partnership and are encouraged by the direction Chapters is heading. There was such a positive feeling in the community from the moment we walked in. Congratulations chapters Living of Alpharetta and we look forward to a continued mutually beneficial partnership!

Moving one’s loved one from their home to a community can be difficult. Some move willingly and others are a little bit more of a challenge. The key is finding the right place. Having just toured Chapters of Alpharetta is like finding a gem. We were greeted with friendly staff in an environment much like one’s home. It was comfortable, clean and filled with happy clients. They were in the midst of doing activities and the folks were so engaged and joyful. The Team’s professionalism and knowledge was outstanding. Being in the business of helping place loved ones in a community can be daunting but when you find a welcoming place you know it will be a blessing for your clients. My wife has been in the Memory Care Unit of this facility for over two years and I must say that I am optimistic about the recent acquisition by Chapters Living to improve upon the care of the residents and the day to day operations and the development of the staff. My initial impression is that the leadership team from Chapters seems fully committed to enhancing the engagement of the caregivers and the quality of care of all residents in the facility.

Addington Place of Alpharetta is the best home I could've found for my loved one! The new director of memory care has sparked more life into the day to day activities. When we decided that Addington Place would be my Mom’s new home, it was a very happy, positive place with a compassionate, knowledgeable and dedicated staff who loved and cared for each resident. She quickly adapted and, before long, began thriving in all aspects. Over the last few months, and especially in the last couple of weeks, there has been a lot of turnover in staff which has been extremely troubling. The new director and her counterpart are extremely negative, hard to approach and definitely don’t seem to have the residents’ best interests or needs in mind. I have overheard the condescending way they speak to other residents’ families and staff and it is completely unacceptable. You can feel the tension and negativity the minute you walk into the facility. We are currently looking for a new home for my Mom, away from her wonderful friends, which truly breaks my heart!

The residents looked well-maintained and comfortable, and the residents seemed happy and relaxed. The staff was very welcoming and attentive, and they answered all my questions with patience and professionalism. I would recommend this community to anyone who is looking for a quality assisted living community.

We chose Addington Place of Alpharetta because we have a friend whose mother has been living there several years. We knew my dad would need care at some point, and that point came in June this year. I love the way the staff interacts with my dad and their being entertained by his jokes. I love the family communications they send out. They recently had a meet and greet for new team members. I've been very impressed with new team members Thomas and Melissa in my recent interactions with them. In addition to caring for the residents medical and cognitive needs, they provide opportunities for families to join. I enjoyed the car show and outdoor picnic. I'm hoping to make the upcoming Fall Festival and Friendsgiving events. And I love the picture I took of him recently dancing during a live music event. I appreciate Executive Director Latoya Jone's leadership and want to thank her and the whole team for taking good care of my dad.

My mom was at Addington for about 2 years before passing away (she had seriously bad osteoarthritis, issues with a hip replacement, etc.). I felt that their COVID protocols were better than most, and while they had staffing issues like so many others, the quality of care was still very good. My mom ultimately wanted to go into hospice and it was so great that she could go back to her 1 BR apartment and be taken care of in familiar surroundings. Sandra Hidalgo was a life line at that time. What a great person! There were others who were super helpful as well. I definitely recommend Addington Place of Alpharetta.

April 30, 2022 UPDATE: NEW MANAGEMENT- Reduced from 5 starts to 3: Mother in Hospital now after being stable for almost a year. Addington was being managed by Cedarhurst when we arrived. They have recently changed to Senior Lifestyle and many of the trusted, reliable team members are gone. A handful remain, and I am truly grateful. I am in the process of addressing my concerns with them and the change, and will update again soon. Old 5 Star Review: 11 months ago. The management, nursing & caregiver, activities, and engineering team here is AMAZING! This is not just a diaper changing facility”” This is a whole other level of TOP NOTCH CARE! This is what assisted living should be! 5 Stars 11 Months Ago: What makes Addington Place special is the highly functioning teamwork. I’m serious- they are incredible! I have been a full-time caregiver for my 86-year-old mother-in-law for almost 4 years, and with three small children in the house too, I was reaching a breaking point. I tried one assisted living down the street, and we were only there three days because they basically didn’t give her critical medicine for three days and she almost died because of it, so I was very hesitant to trust anyone again. But a home health nurse sat me down as I cried and told me I needed to give Addington a try since she’s in and out of a lot of them. The whole team made sure the medications were understood and in stock before admittance, and then once we got settled in, I saw all these additional benefits that were so wonderful: access to an app that allowed easy communication with her team, a daily schedule and newspaper with fun activities for my mom, referrals to amazing primary care physicians and audiologists who come here to see her. So I have fewer times that I have to check her out for doctors appointments and get childcare. I honestly think that if she had still been at home with me, we would’ve already been to the hospital again this year. Their early detection of a UTI and medication with the primary care physician enabled her to get treatment immediately. They are even able to bring x-ray equipment to the facility Again just saving so much time and trouble! The other day I came up to visit, and there were parrots and a poodle here for a resident show! They had a pianist and singer here yesterday. They also have daily exercise. It’s just a beautiful facility with an amazing team. I just wish the team would still be in place when I need this level of care someday! I love the people here, and I’m so thankful for Addington Place! (I wasn’t asked or bribed to write this “. I’m writing it so other caregivers will know they can trust them- it’s SO HARD to find people you can trust! And I believe praise should be PUBLIC! Greatness and excellence is something to celebrate . They deserve recognition, because if you’ve ever cared for seniors, you know it’s not easy!) Thank you Danielle, Kelly, Kellie, Anita, Sandra, Ernie, Stephanie, LaToya, the chefs and the whole team!! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Abe please forgive me if I didn’t get your name here, but know you are valued and appreciated!——’•’•

I am an Atlanta based Eldercare Consultant. One of the services I offer is matching the needs of the families I work with to a community that fits their needs and wants. And, I am highly selective to ensure the best experience for my clients. I introduce families to Addington Place of Alpharetta without hesitation. The leadership is outstanding. Sandra, the Executive Director, has been there for many years (which is unusual in this industry). Because of that, she's had time to create a culture that is incredibly nurturing to both the residents and her staff. The residents are welcoming, energetic, and love to converse. There will be a group of residents that sit around after meals engaged in deep conversation. And the hallways are not empty. There is always activity, not in a chaotic fashion, but in an engaged fashion. Social and recreational activity is a key component to healthy aging. The caregivers are outstanding. I am writing this in JAN of 2022. There is a massive shortage of caregivers throughout the country, but not at Addington Place. Sandra, because of the culture she has created there, has retained her caregiving staff. And Caregivers are on the frontline, interacting with the residents each and every day. Consistent caregiving is not just a service, it is the key to an older adults health and sense of dignity. And lastly, the food and the activities are excellent. The Activities Director and the chef take a tremendous amount of pride in delivering quality nutrition, and care-specific activities that foster cognitive and physical well-being. In a world where consistency is not the norm in the Assisted Living industry, Addington Place of Alpharetta is a shining star.

After 10 years of my Mom living at 3 different assisted living facilities, Addington Place of Alpharetta was my favorite. It definitely felt like home because of the nurturing environment. The staff always had a smile on their faces and treated my Mom with so much kindness and patience. The communication was top notch. Anytime I called, texted or emailed, a quick response was always provided. My Mom constantly called the front desk, and others and was always answered with a calming voice. Anytime she asked for assistance, they were there helping her within minutes! Her room opened onto a lovely courtyard, so she tended to her plants and bird feeder. She moved in during Covid, so this was a plus after not having any access to the outside at her previous facilities. Mom moved down to Florida this past summer to be closer to other family members. We miss her and she misses all the love and attention shown her while living at Addington!

This facility is top notch from the admissions office all the way through every discipline. I am a medical professional who deals with many facilities of all kinds on a daily basis & I highly recommend Addington place. My Mom is in their memory care unit & is getting such good care in a safe environment which is now her home & they treat her like family. Recently, the quick & professional actions toward a medical emergency gave mom the attention needed for recovery. The environment is clean, comfortable, happy, & the residents can enjoy being outside in an enclosed courtyard. I highly recommend this facility for your loved one or as a place of employment.

The best place! My grandmother has been here for almost 6 years now and loves all of the staff and residents! She’s come out of her shell here and has many friends and loves to be involved in the fun activities! Everyone on staff is very good at contacting us about anything regarding her medicine, health, etc. and the fun stuff going on so that the families can join in and be involved! My Mom has been there for 4 years and loves it! The staff is friendly and cares for her very well. The nursing staff is exceptional they are on top of things when they need to be. Mother likes her friends there and we plan on staying for a long time. I highly recommend that you and your loved one take a tour to see how they like it. An easy way to evaluate the facility is to start having your hair done there weekly. You will get to know the residents and the staff.

My mother was moved to Addington of Alpharetta from another Addington facility because of construction at that home. Because of the attentiveness of the staff, she made the transition very well, even though she was in memory care. They kept me updated with phone calls, texts and pictures throughout her stay because visitors were not allowed in due to Covid. When my mother's condition took a turn for the worst at the end of October, the staff allowed me to come in (fully decked out in PPE) to visit her in her final days. I could not have ever asked for more specialized, professional and nurturing care for my mother or for myself. They knew she was receiving their best efforts, but they also made sure I was content and cared for, as well. I never had contact with anyone at Addington of Alpharetta who did not ask me how I was doing and if I needed any help. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone needing assisted living or memory care.

My wife's father was a resident of the Assisted Living section of Addington for 3 months this summer. Although Covid-19 was extremely challenging for him due to the lack of social activity and the need for social distancing to reduce the risk associated with seniors, the Addington management team (Sandra, Anita) and the staff were tremendous. Their communication was frequent and very helpful. My wife and I felt very comfortable that the team at Addington had our Father-in laws care top of mind. Sandra and the team gave us peace of mind in an other wise trying time caring for our elderly Parent. The Nursing Director, Danielle, all the med tech's, Physical Therapist as well as front desk and other staff members did a great job in welcoming my Father-in-Law and showing genuine concern for him. The other area that Addington staff was particularly helpful was in managing the administrative burden that comes with caring for an elderly parent - this can be overwhelming and the Addington staff was always out front offering to help with almost any issue we had. I would highly recommend for anyone considering an assisted living facility that you consider Addington place of Alpharetta.

My Mother was 96 and still driving and playing Bridge every week when she suddenly came down with Dementia. I knew she could not live alone. I started looking for Assisted Living facilities between Canton where I live and Alpharetta where my business is. I found one in Canton that I was really impressed with however, I had made an appointment with Addington because it's only 3 minutes for my business. I almost started to cancel the appointment but something told me to go. I went and found it to be lovely place and I loved the people right away. On my tour everyone spoke to me and they looked genuinely happy to be there. I reserved a great apartment that opened out to the courtyard. When I told my Mother she balked about moving but ultimately agreed it was for the best. This all took place in a week. Signed the lease on a Tuesday and moved her the following Monday. Two years have passed this month and I can't say enough about how happy I am with Addington. My Mom's apartment is perfect. The people are amazing and she loves it there. She loves the food and until this craziness they have so many activities she can choose to do what she wants and stays busy which is so important for someone who will be 99 in June. She still does everything on her on but I know people look our for her and make sure she is safe. There is a geriatric Dr. right down the street that has her PA visit Mom and make sure she is physically safe. They have a hairdresser that comes in every week and also a Dentist that visits. If you want a place for your loved one that gives you peace of mind I can't recommend Addington enough. It was truly a God send. Marilyn Smalley

We moved our Dad here recently (three months ago) from another assisted living facility (out of state). What a POSITIVE DIFFERENCE Addington Place has made for our Dad. He was very unhappy at his former assisted living facility where he was in a constant state of confusion and anxiety based on many factors which where not in his control. Once here at Addington Place, within a a couple weeks his entire demeanor had, and has changed for the better. He absolutely loves it here. A few weeks ago just to make sure this was the place for him we took him around to a few other facilities in the area to look at. After each visit, he turned to us and said "I dont want to leave Addington Place, I love it there". He enjoys the Staff and the Residents where he feels like they are all family. We visit my Dad on a daily basis and we can say without hesitation that the Staff is top notch and very responsive. We have gotten to know most of them (Sandra, Danielle, both Kelly's, Howlette, Ray, Johnny and may more). They are always super pleasant and keep us up to date on our Dad. Thanks so much Addington Place for helping our Dad to become once again happy and content with his home.

New Management is great. My mom has been a resident for over 4 years, with a number of management changes, and we can attest the new team from Cedarhurst is top notch. They retained many of the best folks (ex. Kelly) and added additional activity staff (Kelli) and new chef(s). They coordinate a myriad of daily functions for the residents. There are also frequent events that include family and friends where we get to sample the food. I have been very impressed with there ability to serve a delicious meal to such a large gathering. Highly Recommend.

Not impressed with Addington Place at all. Many of the staff are surly and unkind. There seems to be a lack of procedures and processes in place, as well as a lack of training for the aides. In fact, the staff does not pay particular attention to the individual residents well-being, ignoring health issues that should not be ignored. The management will apologize, but nothing seems to change. If this was me running Addington, half the staff would be fired today. Is it that hard to find caring people? The food is awful and nobody is willing to address it, as if seniors maybe won't notice the terrible food combos (peanut butter and jelly served with cole slaw) presented. Management is about to change. Hoping for improvements.
