Reviews Oaks at Alpharetta
July 2026
Oaks at Alpharetta provided great care for my father! The director and staff are very friendly! The med tech is excellent and very caring! The facility is clean and well maintained. The Oaks had an excellent calendar of events each month.
June 2026
I highly recommend Oaks at Alpharetta as it was the perfect solution for my very elderly mother. She had been at an AL facility in East Cobb since 3/2000, but by mid-2025 she felt the quality of care along with other factors required a change. After lots of research, I narrowed it down to 2 and after my initial appointment with Alice, knew I didn’t need to look further. The facility was clean with no lingering odors or stale smell, the apartment was well laid out, the common areas were clean and welcoming, and there was a strong emphasis on community and individual care that she hadn’t experienced in a while. All the steps to move in were well organized with help from Alice and Chrystal, all paperwork fully explained by Ed, and all the caregivers did their best to help her settle in and assist her since she was in a wheelchair. My mother enjoyed the food and the many events that helped keep her engaged. She even went out for lunch a few times with a group in the Oaks bus, which was a first for her. A few months after moving in she had a fall at night, and upon her return from hospital it quickly became evident she needed to move into memory care. Alice was a miracle worker, and quickly got her an apartment in memory care. The caregivers there, especially Margarita, were all wonderful and the night shift kept me updated by phone as needed so I always knew how she was doing. Activities coordinated by Angela helped engage the folks in memory care. Unfortunately my mother passed in her sleep 1/2026, but she was always well cared for, was fond of her protective caregivers, enjoyed the food, and never had a complaint. I know she felt Oaks was the perfect place for the end of her journey. I can’t recommend them enough, especially Chrystal Tutson, who is the best Resident Care Coordinator in Georgia!

The Oaks saved our family, they gave us peace of mind that my mom was safe with around the clock excellent care! The team was wonderful in aiding us in every decision in making sure mom was comfortable. One thing that was important to us when finding a place was staff longevity. I’m pleased to say that’s the case for the Oaks which meant every person in the building knew my mom by name, her likes and her dislikes, which really made the difference! The staff really went the mile for mom on every front! Another highlight of the Oaks is the monthly family days. Every month the Oaks plans a family event which allowed us to connect with our loved ones as well as other families in the community. This really brought a sense of support and community! I can’t say enough about both the back office and the frontline care team! They are FAMILY”we laughed with them, we cried with them, they supported us through good times and bad! We truly can’t recommend them enough! Your loved one would be lucky to be under their care. They treat their residents with the highest level of respect! We love the Oaks!
May 2026
The Oaks is more than just a phenomenal care facility but a family! My family went to every facility in the area when looking for a place for my grandmother who suffered a severe stroke and needed the highest level of care. The Oaks team treated her with the utmost respect and dignity while she continued to find a new normal in her condition. The ENTIRE team both in the office and in the care team knew my grandmother, despite her troubles with speech post stroke. They took the time to know her and communicate with her even though unconventional. They CARE! The tenure of the staff goes to shows the commitment to excellence! When grandma was in the hospital the team was there to show their support for not only grandma but our family which meant the WORLD to us. We also loved the activities planned for the residents and the ability for grandma to go to their salon even while in memory care. Sadly, grandma has passed on but we are still connected to the Oaks and continue to stay a part of their community! 10/10!
April 2026
My dad lived at the Oaks of Alpharetta for just over a year. The care he received while there was excellent. The building is very nice and the staff are focused on the needs of the residents. Our family was very pleased that my dad was well cared for in his final year of life. Should you or a loved one need a quality Assisted Living or Memory Care facility, I highly recommend the Oaks at Alpharetta.

Outstanding. No one wants to select residential care for a loved one. If you are searching for the perfect place, this is it. My brother was in the memory care unit for 3+ years before he passed away from Alzheimer’s. The staff was so kind to him, all day, everyday, regardless of the situation. The level of respect and dignity shown to him brought so much comfort to our family. He loved his daily life at the Oaks. The staff is truly amazing. The facility is clean, well maintained, and cheery looking. They have tons of activities and celebrate everything! Highly recommend!

As a Senior Care Advisor, this is one of my favorite communities to refer families too! It's always clean, active and the staff is very well run! I've had several clients move their and have heard nothing but great comments.

You won’t find a better leadership team than the one at Oaks at Alpharetta. Their community is beautiful and their team goes above and beyond to make sure their residents are cared for, made to feel special and entertained for all special occasions. They work great with their partners in the senior industry and are always looking out for what’s best for the residents.

Got the opportunity to tour this facility and loved seeing all the residents staying busy doing different activities while staff were being so kind, helpful, and caring. It was also apparent how well the facility is maintained with how clean it looked. Ask for Alice! She did a fantastic job providing us with a tour!

What a journey it is to oversee your family members at the later stages of life. I moved my mom from Florida into assisting in Alpharetta. I knew nothing about this new world. I wanted the best place for my mom. There are fancier places I looked at.but the Oaks at Alpharetta had the heart’—. It starts at the top in an organization. Ed Nucci runs this place like all of the residents are family members. And that’s how it felt from all staff and caregivers. Was it perfect? No. Does it take a lot of effort from the families? Yes. Was there Love and Compassion? Absolutely! My mom passed away feeling like she was leaving home. Priceless ©

As a realtor who focuses on helping seniors, I love visiting this community! The residents are always happy, the staff really cares, and the community itself is beautiful. This place is truly top notch.
October 2025
I recently toured Oaks Assisted living facility and was pleasantly surprised on how clean and well organized the facility was. I also had the opportunity to meet several of the residents who were very happy to tell me their experiences while living there. My perception of assistant living has totally changed since viewing Oaks and meeting with the people that live there. My tour guide Alice Hoffmann was so warm and caring. I would give five stars to this facility
October 2025
Having been at other Ast. Living places, we were able to compare how truly caring Oaks staff and Mgt. are. From the Dir., Ed down to the med tech's, we were glad Mom lived her final days here with friends and fellow residents. Oaks price point for Ast. Living is very competitively priced, and facility is very clean & impressive with new remodeling. Very grateful to the Dir. Ed and residents for helping out after Mom's passing. Glad she lived her final days with caring, compassionate people.

The staff here is super attentive and they provide the best care. I’m a hospice nurse with 8 years experience and have worked in many assisted livings in the area. This is the only one I would have my loved ones live! Truly compassionate people!!

I have seen a few assisted living facilities and this is by far the nicest one I have ever toured. The staff are so friendly, the residents all seem genuinely happy and well cared for, and the facility itself is beautiful, clean, and comfortable.

My Dad has been a resident within the assisted living area at Oaks since November of 2024. Really love the care the staff provides and the recently updated interior is awesome. My Dad is a fan of the meal services at Oaks too.
June 2025
They are kind and compassionate. They answer any question or request I have for my dad.
June 2025
I had the opportunity to volunteer and work with residents for two painting classes, and it was a blast! The Oaks team was so attentive, organized and authentic. I felt the kindness in their hearts and the dedication to the residents they serve. The first class I was able to attend was a few months ago and included a moderate amount of residents. The second class was twice the size and included many family members. There was much fun and joy in that room. I cannot wait to go to another session in the future.
June 2025
I can’t say enough about Alice and staff and how they helped get my mom in so quickly when I needed to find a place for her within days. They went above and beyond to help us!
June 2025
The staff at the Oaks is so friendly and they truly care about their residents. Since moving my mom into the Oaks she now dines with friends, plays board games and enjoys weekly entertainment. I no longer have to manage her medications, meals and housekeeping. Now I just visit and enjoy our time together. We couldn't be happier.

March 2025
I am so grateful to have found Oaks at Alpharetta for my mother. From the moment we toured the facility, we were impressed by the warmth and compassion of the staff. The environment is welcoming, clean, and specifically designed to cater to individuals with memory loss. Outstanding Staff: The caregivers at Oaks are truly exceptional. They are highly trained, attentive, and go above and beyond to ensure that residents are not only safe but also happy. My mom's care plan is tailored to her specific needs, and I am always kept informed about any changes in her condition or routine. The staff is genuinely compassionate, and it's clear that they treat each resident with dignity and respect. One thing I noticed is that when the staff sees me, they light up and are very warm and welcoming. To me, that's a sign that the staff is competent and confident in the care of their residences, they don't try to hide. At a previous memory care facility, I remember the staff always acting caught off guard with my presence. Engaging Activities: The facility offers a wide range of activities that keep my mom engaged and mentally stimulated. When she was still mobile, my mom enjoyed the scheduled church social visits and chair-dancing during the music programs. She also loves when the therapy cat comes to visit. Family Communication: I truly appreciate how easy it is to stay in touch with the staff. Regular updates and open lines of communication mean I always feel involved and reassured. My mom is now in palliative/hospice care at Oaks and the experience has been very pleasant, considering the situation. I've also been very impressed by the way Oaks staff advocate for their patients. When one physical therapist couldn't treat my mom, the staff called me about finding a suitable replacement. Safe and Secure: I have peace of mind knowing that Oaks is fully equipped to handle any emergency. The security features are excellent, and there are always staff members available to assist residents. The design of the facility ensures that wandering is prevented, but it still feels like a home, not an institution. Beautiful and Clean Facility: The facility is always spotless and beautifully decorated. It has a homely atmosphere that my mom really enjoys. The dining areas are bright and inviting, and the food is always fresh, nutritious, and varied. It’s wonderful to know that her physical health is also being well taken care of. I love how the dining areas are set with proper dishware and the residents seem to enjoy meal time. Overall, I cannot recommend Oaks enough. It’s been such a relief to find a place where my mom feels comfortable, safe, and truly cared for. The entire team is outstanding, and I am forever grateful for everything they do for her.
March 2025
We have been so pleased with the care our aunt has received since returning to the Oaks of Alpharetta. Not only is the facility beautiful and welcoming, but the staff is attentive and friendly. The new director, Ed, has made so many positive changes it’s hard to name them all. But the ones that we have noticed are the very fast (like 2-4 minute) response times when the pendant is activated for help, and the quality of the meals being served. It looks and smells delicious, and it’s so nice to go into the dining room and see all of the chairs occupied and smiling residents. I also have to mention Anthony who has done an outstanding job with new and engaging activities, Neelam, the kindest and most knowledgeable medtech around and Bow, the first friendly and smiling face to greet me everytime I visit.
January 2025
The Oaks at Alpharetta is great place to live and work. The residents are happy to call this place home. The staff are pleasant and the director is always making sure that residents are happy and well fed.
December 2024
Horrible place, roach infested, horrendous kitchen, it smells like a sewer, residents left sitting in feces and urine waste, upper management is the worse, mainly the executive director, he is unprofessional and incompetent, he doesn’t conduct himself as a professional, he is inappropriate and uncomfortable to be around, he has a bad habit of being up close and personal, he basically invades others personal space, and he likes to sing inappropriate rap to female staff.
October 2024
Oaks at Alpharetta has been very professional and inviting. You can feel the compassion from the staff and members of the community. Excellent facility.

October 2023
The staff members at Oaks at Alpharetta are amazing. They care and respect for one another. This creates an environment where your loved one is brought into a loving family not just a facility. We would recommend them to other families looking for a place for their loved ones. From a financial perspective they were upfront about all costs. There were no surprises once we moved our family member into The Oaks.
October 2023
I can't attest to the service as it was a bit over our budget, but would have been one of our top 3. Sales person was very sweet and explained everything well. Staff I met during tour was pleasant and building was clean & well maintained. Lovely historic building just outside downtown Alpharetta.
August 2023
Lovely place with incredibly caring owners.
June 2023
Oaks at Alpharetta has been amazing to my Mom. All the staff, nurses, care givers and volunteers took care of her with love and compassion. My Mom spent 8 months with them before her recent passing and developed a special bond with so many of them as well as the dear friends she made among the residents. My Mom loved the people, activities, field trips and playing cards with friends. I highly recommend Oaks at Alpharetta for anyone that requires assisted living or memory care.
March 2023
Best senior facility (including mem care), period. There is so much family & community love here. My loved one has been here 3+ years. Its certainly an older facility, and not the fanciest. That doesnt matter because our loved ones prefer love, respect, fun, and peacefullness over granite & fancy fixtures. There is not a single employee who doesnt know a residents name! (In other words, our loved ones living here are not just a check!) It doesnt matter the day of week or time of dayevery employee will stop and talk to the resident and give them some love. This is truly a loving family and community.and I have been in (too) many. The staff are experienced, attentive and loving. There are many caregivers here whom have been here for 10, 12, 15 and 20+ years. No other facility can say that. In closing, I will say what I always do when Im asked.if there was a better facility than thisthen my loved one would be there instead of the Oaks at Alpharetta. You truly wont find a better place for your loved one!
March 2023
My mom is a resident, and the experience and level of care have been wonderful. This is especially true with her recent move from the Assisted Living to Memory Care wing due to the progression of her dementia. The entire staff is courteous, understanding, and exemplifies caregiving. They work hard, and It's really reassuring to know my mom is safe and well cared for 🙂
March 2023
We are so happy and blessed to be a part of The Oaks - Alpharetta. Such a dedicated, warm, loving community. My mother is safe and enjoying life again.

Mom is so happy here! The staff are very responsive to her every need. We’ve experienced other facilities in the area and the staff here is far superior.
November 2022
I had the privilege of having my mom reside in the memory care unit here at The Oaks. The staff in the MC unit have been so wonderful with her and handling her dementia diagnosis. There is such a great team in there that I was blessed to have found to take care of my mum. On the administration level the Director Lisa,Tara, Valerie, Shelby and Saundra I thank you! My mom unfortunately passed in October but I am still coming in and plan to continue to volunteer with the residents. ‘
November 2022
The Oaks at Alpharetta is the most amazing place who treats our senior parents as kings and queens! I have never seen such hard working and dedicated folks who take such phenomenal care of their residents! The director and her staff provide superior care and love for the residents!
September 2022
I have been to a lot of elderly care facilities. This one is by far the best. It doesn’t smell like the other facilities. The Oaks at Alpharetta is clean. Other elderly care facilities have a horrible smell to them. My relative is happy and well cared for. They have many activities that he can participate in. The staff treats all the patients with respect and love (yes I said love. I’ve witnessed it firsthand.)Thanks The Oaks at Alpharetta!! I wish I could give you 10 stars.
December 2020
Morningside of Alpharetta has been a great fit for my elderly mom - she loves it there! She did not want to leave her home of 35 years, but after a few months at Morningside, she thanked us for helping her make the decision to move. She now agrees that it was time, and has said on numerous occasions how good they are to her, and how much she likes it there. The staff has been kind, caring, and extremely genuine - many have been there numerous years (some places have a lot of turnover), which says a lot about Morningside’s overall focus on people. We wholeheartedly recommend Morningside to anyone looking to provide top-notch care to an aging parent or family member. We looked at a number of facilities before deciding on Morningside - it was by far the right choice for us.
June 2020
It is the best the care staff love the residents
February 2020
My family could not be more pleased with the positive experience for our mother moving to Morningside of Alpharetta. Every person whom we and our Mom has dealt with have been compassionate, professional, skilled and attentive. Lisa and her amazing team, Matthew, Tara, Darryl, Tony, Saundra, Jocelyn, and everyone have made our mom feel cared for. The surroundings are wonderful, feeling like a true residence, the food superior and services provided 5 star. We could not be more pleased and confident in knowing this is the right choice for our mother.
January 2020
If you're looking for an ALF for your mom or dad, you could not pick a place better than Morningside of Alpharetta. During the last few months, my father had some medical challenges. While in the hospital and subsequent nursing care, the staff from Morningside took time from their day to visit with him to cheer him up. They have now welcomed him into their community and his onboarding has been simply amazing. I need to mention Tara Crane in particular. She is the best Director of Health Services you will find any where! Tara not only makes sure everything is correct, she and her staff truly care deeply about everyone in their care. Our family is so lucky to know Tara is looking after our dad. Lastly, Lisa thank you for everything you do!
August 2019
My husband and I have visited Morningside for 8 years. The new director is excellent. She is professional, organized and compassionate. The staff is also helpful and kind. Always willing to answer questions and provide assistance. The common areas are tastefully decorated and well kept. We have a ministry to assisted living residents and always look forward to seeing our Morningside friends. We are at Morningside twice a month.
May 2019
Here are four key things that stand out to me about your facility: 1. The openness and approachability of your staff. Visitors of all types feel welcomed to the facility with a "how can I help you?" greeting that is purposeful, welcoming, and kind. 2. It is impressive that the executive and nursing leadership know the background and status of every resident they encounter throughout the building. It demonstrates sincere care, attention to detail, and real compassion for people. 3. The wonderful social gatherings for residents and families - festive, warm and engaging - whether seasonal parties, or informal gatherings in the front lobby by the fireplace. The events are high quality, well-attended, and always feature special attention to the residents. 4. The attentiveness to the residents by the staff at every level. The residents are loved and cared for like family. For example, I have never entered our Memory Care unit without seeing multiple staff actively engaged in caring for the residents.
April 2019
I love Morningside of Alpharetta. It's in a beautiful building in quaint little Alpharetta. The front porch is so inviting, and the employees are extremely friendly and helpful. I have been entertaining here for many years, and I'm so happy they keep me coming back. Lisa Miner, the Director, is absolutely the best. She makes sure everything is always running smoothly, and she is remarkably personable and caring with the residents. Morningside makes you always feel right at home.
March 2019
I have been to a lot of facilities as a sitter but this facility is the best. Caregivers are great and the food is absolutely the best. I don’t have family at this facility I have nothing to gain by giving this review but I am behind the Scene and see what’s going on Excellent place.
August 2018
As an outside provider who visits the facility 2x a week, I have come to LOVE this facility. Staff is friendly, knowledgable, and compassionate.Facility is very clean and beautiful! They provide excellent care to their residents!
July 2018
The staff at Morningside are caring, loving and compassionate. This includes ALL the staff including directors, care givers, med techs, dinning hall staff, physical and occupational therapists and housekeeping. Our Mama was hospitalized several months ago and when she returned, the love shown towards her was very heart warming. It was obvious she was loved and she felt like she had been missed. They show this love daily. As a family member, this does not go unrecognized. The directors have an open door policy when concerns arise.
July 2018
The team at Morningside are special individuals. They are extremely caring and embrace the residents as if they are their family. Meghan's grandmother and my mother Catherine has resided at Morningside since April 2016. Although the organization has gone through changes since then, the team continually strives to improve the level of care and support both to the residents and to their families. Whenever there are issues or concerns they are very responsive to address the concern. I would recommend this facility to anyone who has a senior family member. Cathy L - Alpharetta
July 2018
When I visit Morning side I am always impressed with the joy and love I feel. The staff do an amazing job every day under the most difficult of circumstances. They keep the residents motivated and upbeat. Thank you very much for all you do.
July 2018
Morningside does a great job taking care of my parents.
July 2018
As a Hospice Community Liaison I ALWAYS enjoy going to Morningside of Alpharetta no matter what my visits are for. Whether it's to meet with a family about Hospice services or anything else. They throw the BEST parties which I try to always attend if possible. The staff are just a delight to work with! Every time I visit it's like going to a comfortable place like home. They truly make me feel welcome. My father and older brother are in an assisted living facility in Florida but if I ever moved them to Georgia, this is the home I would choose for them. This facility is truly my favorite facility in my territory! Judy Dee
July 2018
Not the normal assisted living facility, and that is a good thing. After visiting and researching several facilities I chose Morningside, Alpharetta for my mother. To be honest, my decision was swayed by the fact that the environment at Morningside simply "felt" right. After our application was processed and the paperwork was signed I wondered (as I'm sure most people do) "have I made the right decision? My mother has lived here for 8 months now and I'm confident that I made the right decision, and that she is being well cared for. Morningside is not a "home" or a "facility", but rather a community. It's the caregivers that are most important when considering the well being and happiness of a loved one, and the staff and management at Morningside understand that, and definitely provide five star care.
July 2018
We have received comfort and help from Morningside during happier days and during the illness of our loved one living there. We appreciate the continued help and support we have received from the administrative personnel and the continued care for our loved one from the caregivers.

We have been very pleased with Morningside after moving my husband's father in about 7 months ago. He really didn't want to be in an assisted living, getting care from strangers, but it didn't take long for him to feel right at home and grow to love his caretakers! They treat him so well, and treat him with such respect! Of course, no place is perfect, and little things have gone wrong now and then, but mostly we have seen everyone try to do their very best for the residents. We can tell the staff really get to know the residents and care emotionally for them. My husband or I get there everyday, so we know what is going on. The place is clean and cozy and the food is good! It has the feel of a family home! Highly recommend!

My sister and I have been extremely pleased and grateful for the care our mother has received at Morningside. The entire staff, from management to kitchen staff, have been nothing but kind, patient, and helpful. Our mother is happy and has improved since coming to Morningside. We did not expect her to survive her last illness, so to see her thriving is thrilling. I would recommend Morningside without hesitation.

Unfortunately, this facility was recommended as having "very high standards and excellent care". We have found none of this to be true. We have received many promises to "look into" situations as they have arisen but not positive repair of the issues. Biggest problem is paying for services that are not provided in a quality manner. We hold out hope as the location is so convenient.

The staff at Dogwood Forest have taken very good care of my aging father. They have also been very helpful in finding resources to assist us in caring for him.
