She had plenty of friends and activities and the staff was always nice. I have recently moved to independent living at Wyndham Lakes. And to put my review in perspective, I have lived (elsewhere) in a nursing home and assisted living for the past 9 years. Let me tell you, this place is by far the best of the bunch. The staff has been wonderful, attending to all my needs and answering endless questions. The grounds are immaculate and the buildings are adorned with beautiful artwork. It is a large campus with endless paths for walking/exercising. Also, there is an abundance of organized activities daily, which are clearly posted around the community. The food is above average and served promptly by smiling/well trained waitstaff. Whew, finally I found a retirement home that works for me! Give Wyndham Lakes a look, you won't be disappointed!!! Matthew

I had moved my mother out after issues with poor maintenance of the facility overall (downed lights, goose poop all over the place without being cleaned), bugs in the apartment, and food quality so poor that many residents complained about it. I was also concerned about safety and things not being taken care of until after issues happened. For example, a lock was placed on a gate to the lake area only after a resident drowned and literally floated past my mom's apartment. On the positive side, most of the staff is incredibly nice and attentive.

I love how quiet it is, and I’m able to get peace as soon as I get home. The area is really nice and close to all the places that I love to go. First, the tour and information provided by Wyndham Lakes staff was informative and thorough. Kristen answered all our questions and helped us with the paperwork. The admission process was easy and efficient. My mom loves her studio apartment in the independent living area which includes a wonderful little kitchen. It’s perfect for her. There are many amenities like a salon, a convenience store and a full service dining room. The covered walkways, ponds and greenery areas are wonderful. Last, but not least the head maintenance man Victor has been a god sent to our family. Not only does he take care of all issues with the apartments and facilities he has been such a kind person that always checks on the residents. If you are looking for a place for mom or dad Wyndham Lakes should definitely be at the top of your list. Very nice and capable crew. It's a good place. I don't believe it should be called a place for mom . That leaves out it being a place for dad. Why just focus on one gender? I would suggest that direct Tv is not the greatest and not upgradable. Better to provide Internet. The residents could see free programs using a Amazon fire stick or Roku. The residents would have the option to upgrade the free content, if they do desired. Other than the tv issue, Wyndham Lakes is a fine place .There are interesting things to do and places to go as scheduled. The food is very good also. Great administration staff .

My mom has spent 5 good and happy years in the Memory Care section at Wyndham. She just celebrated 92 years with generally good health.The staff specific to her area, has been attentive and caring over all these years. While she is unable to take meals in the large dining room, there is a small dining area specific to her group and food is always hot, tasty and the same they serve to the larger general residents. She is well cared for and while does have Alzheimer’s she is always smiling whenever family drops by to visit. Becky K

About 2 months ago, I moved my parents into a one bedroom apartment at Wyndham Lakes. My husband and I had visited so many other properties but the welcome and support at Wyndham was by far superior. Pamela was the first to offer a tour and information. She was accessible, available, quick to respond, incredibly informative and helpful. She made a difficult decision at a stressful time very manageable. Since moving them in, we have had several challenges with my moms health. The staff at Wyndham have been amazing at showing up to help my dad when needed, as well as consistently stopping by to make sure they were settling in. Sadly, my mom has had to be moved to skilled care - however, Pamela was once again incredibly helpful. She has gone above and beyond, even when someone needs to find another location. She introduced me to Terrace, which is what my mom needs and it’s still just across the parking lot so my dad can easily walk over for visits. Pam has answered every call, every question, every fear and uncertainty with clear and accurate recommendations. It is clear that she cares about the families and their well being. She has been a life saver in a time that so many things felt chaotic. We are so grateful that my dad has a place to be that is safe and where the staff truly care, and know him by name. While my mom is also getting what she needs next door. I thrilled to have crossed paths with Pam and have been so pleased with all of the staff, their kindness and willingness to help us!

We have had a very positive experience in relocating our family member to Independent Living at Wyndham Lakes. As his sister and brother-in law it is very important to us to have our family member in a safe and caring environment. The Director of Community Relations was our first contact with Wyndham Lakes and she continues to be highly professional and very helpful. Our family member expresses great pleasure in his new living environment and he notes that the staff continues to be welcoming and supportive. Our family member is especially pleased with the layout of his apartment and the way he feels welcomed by both the staff and other residents. The dining room and other common interior spaces are well maintained. However, it is clear that the facility could use more attention to the buildings and grounds. For example, we noticed that the gutters were in need of attention and landscaping could definitely be improved. With a few improvements, Wyndham Lakes would receive our rating as a Five Star facility.

Our mother has resided at Wyndham Lakes since August 2021. She started in independent living and enjoyed her one bedroom apartment with a porch and kitchenette. She enjoys getting salon services on-site, and enjoys the food and the caring staff. This year she has needed additional services and has moved into the assisted living building. Everyone has been very helpful in getting her adjusted to a new routine. They have also been very helpful to our family as we adjust to Mom's changing needs. A big plus is the Brooks Rehabilitation office so physical therapy can be done on-site. There are lots of activities for those who enjoy them. We are also grateful that they partner with Hospice to get the best care for Mom.

A more formal review to follow. There are two very special employees that I feel the need to recognize for their love and caring ways shown to our father and this family. First is June in the Main dining hall(Bistro). I took my father on a visit before he moved to Wyndham Lakes permanently. June took good care of my father and I on this initial visit. My Dad was quite pleased with the place and moved into this facility in 2018. He spent many a day eating his meals here and seemed to be well taken care of by the staff. He always told me he did not have any complaints! Recently my fathers health started to decline. He was transitioned from independent living to the assisted living building. The weekend Nurse Bethany went above and beyond to help make sure my father was well taken care of and communicated with the family actively. Bethany went way above the call of duty and made sure we as a family were informed of any/all changes with Dads status or overall well-being. The day after we signed my father on with Hospice, which was a difficult day. She and one of the nurses assistants gave my father a bed bath (much needed) out of the kindness of their heart as he was no longer able to bathe himself. This was a choice she made in providing dignity to a resident in their last days at Wyndham Lakes. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! More to follow!!!

Just be careful...ask questions. Talk to residents living there. It’s a Great place for many people. The staff is very kind. But again look around at everything. It’s the Best place for my family member at this time. No living facility is perfect. Is all I am saying. I see small changes being made , all for the best. At this time. Every place you evaluate for your loved one - I would say the same thing. My family member is happy at your facility. Beware - just look at everything and ask questions. They tell you what you want to hear when selling you a unit. From oh yes we have this diet to oh yes your loved one will get a bath twice a week. Ask people who already live here. I was placed in 100 to begin with when I needed no assistance. NONE! Yes I use a walker. But I was told by Meg ( a LPN who quit) that if I did not change my review from one star to 5 I could not move to another building and my rent would not be lowered. I .wish I had it on tape . But I was not prepared. I switched it back . The dine hall staff turn over faster than they can hire them due to Stephanie she works 7 days a week. Treats residents and staff horrible. Think before coming here. Do your homework. The back porches and covered walkways are #1 if you have a PET. This place could be great with a little help and old timers say it has gone down hill since new management I have good days and bad days here. This IS not my home. BUT, my home is not a home either. update: several changes are being made. And sometimes it’s better to live in assisted living surrounded by others going through a similar thing than to be left alone at home. ‘©

Wow! We visited Wyndham Lakes today and all the residence were helpful, especially the nice resident/volunteer in the Country Store. She told us "They were the best residents anywhere." She was very happy living there. We were invited to share in root beer floats, and they offered a wonderful lunch. What stood out were the two women who helped us. Sherida, the Sales Director was most helpful. She understood our situation and helped us to look at all possibilities for my mom. She honestly cared about determining what type of care my mom would truly need. Never did she seek to just get her in, or just put her somewhere, no she thought through how far my mom would have to travel to eat. She sought the best level of care without adding too much. I have to add we were lucky to spend time with Rebecca Matheny, the Executive Director, who is also a Regional Director. The knowledge she has and the energy she brought was all used to seek how to help us. We left knowing these Directors would find away to help us. I'm so grateful for this great visit today!

Wyndham lakes is the answer to my prayers for a safe, affordable, beautiful, and friendly home for my Grammy. She is the surviving widow of my poppy who served 22 years in the Navy. Wyndham lakes takes care of many veterans and their spouses, offering 200$ off a month in rent. ( if you’re in a similar situation- please apply for the aid and attendance benefit through the VA. Wyndham staff is very educated on benefits for veterans and their surviving spouses, and are happy to help!) Sherida was our sales representative, her compassion and sincere love for the residents shined during our tour. She is a big part of why my grandma and I signed a lease with Wyndham. My grandma is staying in a one bedroom apartment. She loves how independent she feels. She requires a stand up Walker and electric wheelchair for long distances. She LOVES that there is no carpet to deal with when getting around. Our old home was not senior friendly at all. She was so happy when she was able to fully enjoy her new walk in shower. She is also recovering from a broken hip. And I almost cried when I saw that Wyndham partners with Brooks and offers onsite PT- both in a patients room and in a beautiful gym on campus. Her insurance covers these services. If you aren’t familiar with PT services in JAX- let me assure you after over 22 surgeries on my grandmother’s legs for various reasons over the past twenty years- Brooks has always been the best and safest choice for rehabilitation. The dining room is restaurant style, and I’ve joined her multiple times for meals. The facility is non- tipping but the servers are so kind and love the residents and are quick to learn their preferences. We connected with Micheal right away, and he is always such a joy! ( I’m a server- so trust me.) Residents also have agency in running activities and social clubs. My grandma looks forward to her bible study. Wyndham also offers grief counseling for any stage of the grieving process. It’s been two years since we lost my poppy. She is ready to take this important step in her journey. The staff at Wyndham was so caring when they heard her story. I feel that she is seen emotionally, and will be taken care of with dignity. Also! My grandma doesn’t drive and they schedule transportation to her doctors appointments. This greatly reduces stress on the family, as we don’t have to figure out comfortable transport for her and her healing hip. We all have jobs, many of us 9-5 M-F. We strive to meet her at her appointments because we believe in patient advocacy. My grandma sees around six specialists, and JAX traffic made it hard for the family to take time from work to transport her as well. Wyndham didn’t sell us an apartment. They welcomed both of us into a loving community. They returned agency to my grandma, who feels more in charge of her life and so proud of her new home. My grandma is my best friend. I love her so much. I have very HIGH standards when it comes to her well being and care. We struggled to find a place within budget as a middle class family. She made too much for income restricted communities and too little for many luxury communities in JAX. This was the answer. I will always be grateful.

The geese and so fun to watch, if you love nature, yummy food and fun you need to come here! The executive director is respectful to the employees and the residents and she makes is a great place to visit. I want to start out this review by stating I read ALL the reviews at this facility that were posted as of February, and almost every other facility in the N. FL area. I was hesitant on the reviews at first but then noticed it was a common theme with these types of facilities, there are good and bad. I decided to take advice from some folks in the industry and go see a couple locations for myself. My grandmother is able minded and physically capable in a wheelchair and walker if necessary, so I am not worried about total neglect because she would tell me if that was occurring. After a few trips, and tours I decided on Wyndham Lakes because of many factors. Location, cost, residents’ feedback while I was onsite, and staff feedback onsite. I am overall very happy with the facility. I won’t say that things are 100% perfect, but everything I have brought up has been addressed. The staff is very nice and caring, and they genuinely seem to care. The big thing is that my grandmother is happy!

I’m impressed how the executive director , approaches the residences with great care and comfort . I would love to bring any family member to this establishment if need be or in the future .

I think this is a great facility. I have had loved ones stay in various facilites around FL and Wyndam is one of the best. The facility feels open and airy and the staff is helpful when asked for assistance. The experience for the residences seems engaging. They have the option of choosing their their meal from a menu and lots of activities, not just bingo. I was impressed with the ED. She is very engaged with the residents, out and about and not back hiding in her office. Wyndham offers a loving environment and a safe place for you or your loved one. Why not a 5? I personally am not a big fan of the campus layout. Some apartments you have to go outside to get to the dining hall. But that is me, others love the out stretched campus. WOULD DEFINATELY RECOMMEND IT!
