Garden Care Senior Living on Desert Cove is absolutely amazing. My mom has been there since September 2 and she’s calling at home already. She absolutely loves it there. The people that work there are fantastic Jerry, who who is manages Sam who helps with the healthcare all the people in the dining room are so nice to her and so kind The people that do the activities are absolutely wonderful. I cannot say enough about the Center. It is amazing.

This place is amazing. The facility is very clean and the staff members are great. This was supposed to be a temporary place for my mom to live while recuperating from a fall. However, after being there for approximately six months she has decided to stay permanently. I can’t think of another place that I would want my mom to be at. She has gained so many new friends and now participates in daily activities. I couldn’t be any happier!

Truewood is my home. I love the people, the food, the security, and the community. The food is really good, I feel safe here. I have met so many good friends here. My wife and I have been happily married 54 years and we moved into Truewood by Merrill in Scottsdale, Arizona the last part of March 2022. Why here? After my wife fell and broke her hip, we needed help. My family started researching for over 2 months, interviewing, and touring many facilities from Southern California to Colorado, Utah, Nevada and Arizona. They were looking for a place that would allow me to continue living with my wife, even though she was beginning to show signs of dementia. Thankfully, Truewood by Merrill met all our requirements. Affordability Professionalism Kind, courteous and loving staff Good food rating Mobile Medical professionals Nearby Hospital Cleanliness. A special thank you to Christina Moreno - Community Director, Karla Johnson - Community Relations Director, Florence Myers - Business Office Director and especially Joann Pawlowski “ General Manager for working so closely with our family to make preparation for our successful move in. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the dining room waiters, Victor, McKayla, Taylor and Chelsie. They all have memorized our names, our food and beverage preferences and their service goes above and beyond. The food is delicious! And let me tell you that every single caregiver here shows personal attention to us. They are kind, loving and yet very professional. Even the folks assigned to pick up the trash, and distribute mail and parcels are kind and friendly. If you have a need, don’t look any further. Truewood by Merrill is the place you want to be.

I needed to move my mother from Ohio to Scottsdale to live closer to us. I started the search online as most people do and found a site called A Place for Mom which lead me to Truewood by Merrill. What I immediately loved about it was the comfortable size of the facility. I felt not too big and not to small...Just right !....Krisinta helped me through the intros of the facility and each person I met took the time to say hello & introduce themselves. I believe you can tell a lot by meeting people face to face . By the end of the first meeting I felt like the team truly wanted to help the residents & enjoyed their jobs. We even found out about a VA program that could help support my mother's stay. It been 3 months and everyone has been great and most important my mother loves the place and has already made many new friends. I would highly recommend Truewood by Merrill !

This facility is amazing. My parents moved in on Nov. 4th. The next day my dad had to be taking to the hospital and the day after that, my mom was taken to the hospital. My parents weren't even in their apartment 24 hours and the staff was asking how they could help me. Once my parents came back, once again they wanted to do all they could to help. They are AMAZING. Their apartment is very nice, the food is excellent and as I have said, the staff is amazing.

Always has the Best Receptionist and Welcome Center, the Activity director really has the Residents Focused and active throughout the day. The place is clean and everyone just seems the enjoy they’re work while being there. Parking is easy accessible. They have a fabulous fitness program for there residents which really adds value to our loved ones getting a great quality lifestyle.

An older friend of mine lives here, she spoke highly of this community and was excited to share with me her experience thus far. Being the "seeing is believing" kind of person I am & after a few visits with her it became clear as to why she loves it so much. Staff has become family in a truly caring way, the food looks and smells amazing. It's a very clean and a homey place for my dear friend to call home, I have do doubt she made the right choice to live there. Well done staff & facility. Five star all the way.

Truewood by Merrill is such a breath of fresh air. Upon arrival to the community, I was greeted by a friendly staff that was eager to assist. The residents were playing a game of Cornhole, and laughing while cheering each other on. To see residents engaged and having a good time is truly a good feeling. What a great community!

Desert Flower is a well liked senior living community with all levels of care. The staff is caring and always look out for their residents. We recommend their community. Im a health care provider there and know that they want to bring in different services there for the benefit of the residents.

Sad. Negative review. Unfortunately, this review is negative. The prior company was sold and there have been too many changes that are negative for families and residents. Covid issues are one thing but mega corporations owning nursing homes with a focus on profits is too difficult to ignore. I could detail the list but she is still there and won’t leave. She is unable to change at her age so we just monitor and pray for the best. I wish I could recommend a few assisted homes but I can only give you some advice. I wish we inspected and shopped around. Too late. My advice and questions: Shop around. A lot. This is a pain but you have to to it. Compare A lot! Inspect. Everything. Take family with you. Or a friend. More eyes and questions are better. Ask a lot of questions Read the contract carefully Note yearly auto increases Note the small additions. They add up quick. Understand the levels. Food is critical. Change in chefs can be terrible. Food significantly affects health. How many floor staff per resident? Any filed complaints? How many covid deaths? They probably will not tell you. Most nursing homes had some and they don’t reveal. They hate to admit covid deaths at facility. Obvious point but family should know. Why not? How often or turn over in staff? Are they using temps? Temp agency? For what? What is deposit? Refundable? Negotiable? What is termination fee? No carpet. Trips occur. Hardwood pergo flooring clean and no tripping. Television included? Telephone? Detail in contract how many times clean room? Wash cloths? Weekly? How long has management been there? Who owns it? Mega Equity Company? Probably. Finally. Please remember that nursing homes are money makers. Cash flow. This is reason big Wall Street Equity Companies own them. Hundreds of them. Our elderly loved ones and family generate cash. Easy cash. So don’t be aft to ask questions! Your paying the bill so they should answer.

Rebecca and Stephanie are such knowledge nurses! The community itself is very nice especially the dining area. I also really like Paul the activities director. Easy to talk to and really enjoys his job. Bayada Home Health is going to have a space in the building according to my tour and that’s great news for my Mom.

I was so pleased how well the staff in the memory care section of Desert Flower assisted my father during his short time he was there until his passing. The staff was dedicated in my fathers care and making sure he was comfortable. I would highly recommend Desert Flower for your loved one.
