As an mobile occupational therapist, I’ve been going into this facility regularly for several years, and I can confidently say the staff here are some of the kindest and most welcoming people I’ve ever worked with. I’ve worked in multiple facilities across the city, and it’s rare to find a team as consistently positive and welcoming as this one. One experience that really stood out to me involved a client with visual impairment who had difficulty independently feeding himself in the dining hall. I collaborated with Francis, the activities director, and the dining staff to develop a consistent place-setting layout along with structured verbal cueing to support successful self-feeding. The implementation was immediate and the concern was resolved. This level of teamwork and follow-through truly highlights their passion and commitment to their residents. Moreover, the location is ideal as it is situated right next to Metropolitan Market and the Burke-Gilman Trail, providing convenient access to everyday amenities (ie. the cookie) and community engagement. I highly recommend this place.

Empress Senior Living is a beautiful, boutique-style community in Laurelhurst that feels more like an upscale hotel than a traditional senior living community”while still being very reasonably priced. The location is outstanding, with a Metropolitan Market across the street and some of Seattle’s best parks and walking trails nearby. The food is excellent as well”especially the breakfast burritos. The staff is consistently friendly and welcoming, and there is always something engaging happening for residents. I’ve been especially impressed with the Health and Wellness Director, Heather. She has a strong pulse on the building and a deep understanding of each resident’s individual needs. I’ve seen firsthand the care and intention Heather and her team put into ensuring that care is personalized, thoughtful, and well-coordinated. She does an exceptional job guiding her care team and working closely with outside partners to make sure residents who need specialized support receive it. Just as importantly, she communicates clearly and compassionately with families. Empress is a special community, and it truly shows in the quality of care and attention given every day.

I couldn't ask for a better community for my loved one! Empress Senior Living is more than just a senior living facility - it's a family. The staff are warm, caring, and truly dedicated to providing exceptional care. The activities and events are engaging and fun, and my loved one is always looking forward to the next outing or gathering. It's clear that the team at Empress Senior Living genuinely cares about the residents' well-being and happiness. I highly recommend Empress Senior Living to anyone looking for a supportive and loving community for their family member. 5 stars isn't enough!

I am sorry that Monica and Jennifer didn't have a good experience at Empress. We have had 2 family members at Empress and, despite challenges that impact all senior living facilities, I can say unequivocally that the patience, attentiveness, and caring of staff members and care providers is first rate. They have also been responsive to concerns of families of Empress residents and have afforded a level of comfort to my family in knowing that our loved ones will get good care--even when we can't be present.

Empress Senior Living is a truly special community that encourages residents to branch out and live a fulfilling lifestyle. After experiencing a fall and realizing it was time for assisted living, I explored several options but knew Empress was the perfect fit from the moment I walked in. The community is small, well-designed, and easy to navigate, making it feel like home rather than overwhelming. The amenities are fantastic: a lending library, a cozy movie theater, excellent transportation services, and more. But what truly sets Empress apart is the staff. They are kind, patient, and always willing to go the extra mile to personalize care for each resident. Beyond the fantastic support, the activities here are so much fun! I've been playing mini golf and bingo with my fellow residents, and it has been an absolute blast. There is always something to do, and everyone is included. If you want a warm, welcoming, and engaging senior living community, I highly recommend Empress!

As you age, are you looking for a conventional living space size, where meals are provided, and daily activities? Then the Empress is the right place for you and has convenient library, theater, transportation, and bi-weekly live performers during Happy Hour. Across the street is Met Market and there is laundry and housekeeping in-house.Perhaps you are worried about memory care and declining mobility. The Empress staff is friendly and trained to support the residents like they are your family. Exercise classes, memory games, and listening to recorded symphonies are some of our favorite activities. Perhaps you are even looking for a place to garden” The Empress has a rooftop garden! The Empress is a small community that feels like family!

We did an event here the other day. The staff were absolutely amazing and we witnessed them being very helpful! The facility was beautiful. Everything was so clean and organized. The residents seemed like they were having a great time with all the activities. Parking was really easy. Everyone was very kind and seem like very caring and wonderful people!

My mother lived at Empress through the end of her life. The new management made a world of difference to the quality of her care. Hiring excellent caregivers and leadership staff that truly supported her needs. Activities increased and the food improved. It was a blessing to watch the interactions of the caregivers with my mom who felt safe and cared for every day.

I was in the market for new housing for my grandfather who was in a senior living center our family wasn’t satisfied with and found Empress Senior Living in Laurelhurst through a recommendation from a friend. Long story short, we ended up choosing them because of the their reputation of senior living in the marketplace. We have been incredibly happy with our choice and would recommend Empress Senior Living to anyone. Their level of care, thoughtfulness, and attention to detail is unmatched. For the first time in so long, our family feels at peace with our grandfather’s living situation. He is not only comfortable, he is happy! It has been a joy to see him excited about life again. The management team truly cares and it feels great to know he is with people who care about him and his happiness.

Our family placed our grandfather into Empress Senior Living a few months ago and we’re happy with the staff and facilities. They recently changed to a new management company called Leisure Care. They have increased activities which is important to ensure our grandfather gets enough exercise. He seems happy and more engaged.

Empress Senior Living is a new community in Seattle's Laurelhurst neighborhood, which offers assisted living, memory care, and hospice care. I have visited Empress three times, and am duly impressed. The facilities are sparkling. I especially like the rooftop garden area that is available for memory care residents. The Site Manager, John Murphy, has extensive experience in the longterm care industry. He served previously as Site Manager at the longterm care facility where my wife resides, and his compassion and empathy were obvious. The staff are engaged and caring. I know at least one member of the Life Enrichment team at Empress, who worked previously with my wife, and he is outstanding. If you are looking for assisted living or memory care in northeast Seattle, Empress is definitely worth a visit.

The Empress feels like home. All the spaces seem well planned for fostering community among the residents. And, and this is a big A N D, the residents' families are welcome. It's not a space to drop Mom off and hope she is looked after. It's a place where residents can have the hard stuff looked after -- and carers can focus on the loving relationship.
